The Australian Dollar has been consistently close to or above parity with the US Dollar for at least a year, and yet our prices - even on Steam! a digital distribution platform! - do not reflect that. These are unfair practices and, frankly, ridiculous.

@Tigregalis It's all to do with Australian game store chains trying to keep themselves afloat i.e. Eb Games AU, Game AU and to a lesser extent JB Hi-Fi. Like when Arkham City came out on Steam for $99AU when the collectors edition was never in store for more than $85. If you don't mind waiting a few weeks for a game you can usually order them in from the UK for about half price, but no, it really isn't fair pricing.

@ROFLocpter The good(?) thing is that it's really mostly just the really big titles like Skyrim, Arkham City and Modern Warfare 3 (meh) where we pay a 100% markup price. In a way these games are so broken to begin with anyway, so you might as well wait until the price has been heavily discounted - but even so, at the discounted rate we'll still be paying a 100% markup price. Game store chains need to negotiate with publishers and/or come up with new ways to compete, NOT force high pricing on us.

They have professional standards for reviewing things, you need to be a legitimate journalist (excluding ofc the randoms on the internet who will claim to be reviewers). There are a bunch of criteria that pro reviewers need to meet, completing the whole game for eg. An opinion piece doesn't need to meet those standards, which is why TB always gives the disclaimer that he's not giving reviews, he's just giving first impressions/opinions

defense grid is good, have on xbox but its sooo damn hard and we got robbed and i lost the xbox so i have to start again on it, seeing it on sale and remembering how i struggled made me just feel so sad. Also, clear sky may be the one people like least but it runs the best (graphical) on my laptop (best optimized), i have them all but i suck at them and so have barley managed to leave the first area on any, it leads you the most so its probs the best one to start on, not a bad thing
