Im set as a primary driver for an f-150 i own which is 160 for full coverage.

I know, right! My Algebra teacher owns a 2003 Mustang SVT Cobra, it is pushing 381rwhp. Also, how they rated the 2003 Cobra with 390 horsepower, it must have been at the engine. Stock it had about, 340rwhp, atleast that is what my Algebra teacher said. Anyway, it takes another car a lot of mods to beat a 2003-2004 Cobra. Haha. For me, I'd save a little money and buy a 2003 or 2004 Mustang GT V8 4.6L and progressively add mods to it, maybe make it a Terminator Cobra Clone. I am limited at moment.

gt have a 2 valve per cylinder cobra have 3 per cylinder.. and the rear suspension isnt the same . every car manufacturer rate engine on crank hp so it definitly wont make 395 to the wheel like its rated at but change the pulley and u will get over 400 whp and the engine can make alot more then that

@millenium385 The 03-04 Cobra's were under rated by Ford at 390hp/390tq at the crank, NOT the wheel. They also had 4v per cylinder and 4 cams (2 per bank). Know what you are talking about before you post. I have an 03 Cobra Convertible that makes 401hp at the wheel with simple exhaust and intake mods. It sits next to my 1966 RestoMod GT Fastback Mustang. Now...go kill yourself.

stock they are rated at 390 hp and they are underrated in most ads. so stock is about 380 rwhp. and simple bolt ons alone such as CAI and exhaust will bring it up to about 415 rwhp. and if you change the pully you can be looking at 500 rwhp with a tune. so tell your teacher to give his cobra more credit than that lol

Yes, stock they are rated at 390hp and 390 foot pounds of torque. However, both are rated at the flywheel and not rear tires. I really doubt they are pushing 380+ at the rear tires. He said all he really done was add an aftermarket intake manifold and cold air intake. You have to take in the consideration that when you put your car on a dyno pull, there is an estimated 20% drivetrain loss, so you lose around 20% horsepower at the rear tires than your engine.

Ok, we need to stop guessing on these numbers. Let's face it, the only way to know the Cobra's real numbers, you would have to purchase a bone stock Cobra and put it on the dyno. I wouldn't doubt it if the stock '03-'04 Cobra's would make close to 430 horsepower at the flywheel, not rear tires. These cars were beasts.

However, I'd much rather take an '89 Mustang LX 5.0 and match the Terminator Cobra's power with it. Plus, they are lighter by around 200 pounds; not hating on the Cobra's.

The 4.6L is around 280 cubic inches. The 5.0L is around 302 cubic inches. What the 4.6L lacks in liters and cubes, makes up with the overhead camshafts. The 5.0L in the years '88-'92 came with forged internals (flat top pistons), I heard. The '03-'04 Cobra's are still my favorite newer Mustang. I personally am not a fan of the GT500, but the Super Snake kicks ass.

My vehicle project is going to be putting my 350 SBC V8 in something like an S10 truck. That setup would be badass, in my opinion.
