Hey I am looking at assembaling a team to help design a working mobile suit. I know totaly geeky but what the hell.There are allot of people building awsome robots on youtube so maybe I could assemble a few of them and form a custom machien building team. If nothing else attain ideas of how to make certain joints work. most of my own plans end up being to complicated and thus to many problems arise in its construction.

but i dont know that using solar energy can generate enough power to run piston of the steam engine.

it could but you would require a Fresnel lens which is large and expensive. however you could do it with a sterling engine

Very ingenious design. The legs are really a work of art in their operation.

This is a collaboration project with Klann Research and Development. This particular project serves no purpose, maybe just to prove steampunk robots are indeed possible. However, Klann spider chassis does have a lot of potential applications, as it is mechanical in its leg design, which mean you do not need a power source per joint. The amazing leg mechanics allows for many uses at any scale. Stay tuned, a smaller Steam Spider II is coming soon!

Thanks for the comments! it's NOT 3D :) the Wild Wild West spider IS 3D and is not a real working machine. I have made many SteamPunky robots, and have many influences, and of course includes designs from the Wild Wild West, SteamBoy etc. But my main influence comes from the art of Miyazaki.

I have to agree with golf228, though without the name calling. The concept may not be original, but the fact that it was created, speaks for itself. You have no idea of the design and engineering required to bring it to reality. It's not like the movie had the plans. At least crabfu brought something interesting to YouTube.
