My life time idol for sure. I've sang and uploaded songs on youtube of Merle, and as hard as I try, I will never get to sound like him, or even close. relax, brushcreek - it was probably just some drunk numbskull who hit the wrong key. He's probably sobbing in his beer even now, over his mistake. Merle - and George - and for that matter, Jerry Lee (he was recording those great Smash/Mercury records), Elvis (remember the Burbank Sessions?), Charlie Pride among others, were as good in 1968-1969-1970 as male country ever got. Even Willie was singing great then.

Used to sing this song on the Celtic bus goin to the games. When it came to the bit Im right back the Bhoys on the bus used to shout" Danny Mc Grain" the best right back Scotland has ever produced.
