  • Hello Bluebunny, I do not know what type of paint was used and probably different companies used different processes. I have never been concerned with lead paint on treadles and have never been asked that question. I personally wouldn't let that concern keep me from using these wonderful old machines but people worry about different things in life. In the 80s everyone was worried about cholesterol in eggs and avoided them. Moderation in everything serves us well. Happy Treadling!

  • i have two old treadles im concerned about lead paint do you know what kind of paint they used on them ?

  • See the model with the side drawers, we still have ours from my grand mothers sewing machine. My dad made a cabinet for them, and we use them in our attic.

  • I looked on your web site and did not see how to buy the book... What do I need to do?

  • I am so glad I found you. I just bought a Ruby Light Running New Home treadle sewing machine. Had no idea how to thread the shuttle bobbin until saw your video. Now I need to figure out how to install it into the machine. My machine is in real rough condition and it will take a lot to get it running. Thank you for your video

  • If you send me a direct email from my website I can send info on ordering my book. Thank you!

  • How do I order this book?

  • really neat video i have a sewing machine like that its a singer ja it was made in 1024 and it works great

  • @barkleybruce Thank you for commenting, I guess you meant your machine was 1924. They are wonderful machines and still sew beautifully after so many years.
