Strago rules. I play the snes version of this game, where the magblk bug still exists. So magus rod and various other goodies make him almost invulnerable. His mag power is easy to raise with espers to stupid high, and he then gets the full arsenel of magic spells plus all the lore ones.

strago tried to become a black mage and burned himself. then he tried to become a red mage and froze his body, then one day he saw a monster and copied the abiltiy of the monster and then he decided to become a blue mage. just my funny imagination as to why he still hase the red mage cape and the black mage pants on and forgot the blue mage outfit XD

well I think most people only use him for the Rippler Bug, other than that he's a pretty average character unless you want to have him learn all of his lores.

Sadly we didn't had many of Strago since he appeared a little late on the game. The same for Relm. But this song is amazing!

I love how Strago just seems to take many different things from other jobs in history...

Think about it..Red mage cape, Black Mage pants, an old man like Tellah(Sage), use of the Heal Staff was pretty reminescent of the Black Mage using a Heal Staff in the FF1 remakes, and him just being a Blue mage character...Not only a Blue Mage, but probably the best Blue Mage. He didnt have to be hit by something to use it--No! He saw it and was like "When I was 2, I walked 5 miles in the snow!" And baam.

@FlamingKyo blue mages that were designed seemed to be very random and were able to learn monster abilities in weird ways such as quina, when eating enemies to learn an ability. Another is quistis, when she is perceived supernatural for unleashing blue magic as a limit break... Strago is the blue mage that brings them all together.

Some of Strago's lores are incredibly hard to get, especially in a low level game, but they are also some of the best spells in the game.

The themes in the Final Fantasy series and Chrono Trigger are just awesome.

My favorite thing about Strago is that he's the ONLY true blue mage in the series. Other characters essentially use the skill, but it doesn't cut it. Freya's a dragoon, Kimahri's a whatever, all the other games didn't make it character specific. Yay, Strago! ...

Plus, he's an old bat. ^_^
