LOCAL AUTHORITIES MUST BE ACCOUNTABLE FOR THIS ACCIDENT! If tourists of Key West were obligatorily evacuated, Why authorities of Broward County and the City Ft Lauderdale did not enforce the same with beach goers?
Because authroties cant be everywhere, all the time. The warnings were given, and duely ignored. Somewhere along the line, people need to take responsability for their own actions. This guy made the decision to go kiteboarding on the cusp of a tropical storm. I feel for the guy, I hope he gets better, but there is no one to blame here but the guy who put the harness on and decide to ride that day.
We are still in the middle of Fay here in Jax. and we have already had a person die from swimming in the water. I feel awful for her family, but I mean, its a tropical storm - with high wind gusts, you shouldn't go into the water.
That guy was crazy to go wind surfing, i hope he gets better soon.
