Have as look to other country they are have got different of color military is uniform more beautiful better than this. For example country like as China and Thailand. @Ghahu Modern soldiers use modern weapons. Simple! But I do understand what you're saying. The Queen's Birthday Parade is about today's Bitish Army parading for today's monarch. It's not just supposed to look nice for spectators! :)

@FFAGrimReaper i know they are also supposed to fight, so they should use modern weapons for this purpose. But they also have different uniforms for fighting and parades, so they could fit the weapons to the uniforms ;-)

@Ghahu I take your point. You may not be aware that their uniforms are ever-changing too! Whilst they are steeped in tradition, the designs are actually modern. Anyway, I personally think the SA80 A2 is a pretty weapon, so maybe I'm biased!

What amazes me is that all of these men are active duty military and when they aren't participating in ceremonies such as this, they are fighting in Afghanistan. Some of them have undoubtedly lost comrades and friends in the war and yet they still have the focus and dedication to participate in the Trooping of the Colour. The UK is fortunate to have such men on their side. Very impressive, indeed.

The tune which begins at 1:83 is Scipio, the Grenedier guards' slow march. It was originally composed as 'Scipione' by Handel as an orchestral piece but it has somewhat changed into the march we know today.

It's when the ensign lowers the colour when the eyes right command is given during the march past in slow time and then brings it back up to the carry position on the command of eyes front.

And yes, amazing how they change from one march to another so seamlessly!

@Robinmuk The Ensign's flourish is when the standard bearer "flourishes" the standard when they march past the queen (when the flag is horizontal) and the recover is when he "recovers" the standard to its place (vertical)
