Just yesterday, my Xbox started freezing. None of the home remedies worked. But is it just coincidence that my console is freezing now that Microsoft came out with the new model? I think not.

Think about it. Every few weeks there's an update that you MUST upload. Is it possible that Microsoft is secretly uploading some sort of virus? Hence, forcing us to buy the new model.

Hahahahahaha you have to be kidding me. Play it without a heatsink. You realise if you do that you are breaking your xbox forever. Look at my channel for a professional fix, with professional equipment. You have to get your cpu 250 degrees celcius that is the temperature at which lead free solder melts. You realise if you do that on a computer it FRIES the cpu or gpu. the hotglue thing is retarded whoever sends it to these guys is an idiot.look at my channel for a legit fix.

my xbox is horizontal on a shelf with over 6 in clearance above and around 2 in clearance on the sides. is that a good position to keep it in to reduce rrod chances?

Mine is sending audio to the TV but no video. Before it happened the colors on screen went haywire, now nothing shows up on the screen at all. The lights in the front work as they normally do; no red rings of any kind.

What would be the cause/ solution for it? Could it be related to the GPU overheating and turning itself off? Would replacing the thermal compound fix it?

Bit of a late reply, but just to let you know that is RROD. Even if it shows green, but you get sound and no visual that is the beginning of the end my friend. Advice: X-Clamp removal (google it). Even when doing the overheating stage at the end it will possibly show green, but still follow all steps exactly. Good luck.

you can use screws but they really dont need to be applying much pressure.. ppl tend to tighten the screws a bit to tight. just barly snug is good.
