Lets not blame the people clogging the system looking for drugs, strung out on crack or alcohol for the 8th time this month, or women complaining their period is more painful this time.

Its awful what happened to in that incident. I worked bedside , er, and my specialty is psychiatry. Again I am not defending what happened. All I am trying to say. Is that I wrote a 50 page report the psyciatric abuse of black and lower income class people. As an MD I will defend my college's. They are overwhelmed the system is bad.. And we try our best. I am disgusted. In medicine there is a saying and it is true. You win some and you some. The public needs to understand our position.

I am a MD and you just cant save every one nor prevent every incidnet, doctors feel bad for this. That is life. You win some you loose some. I am sorry for this incident. One must make speek up and be rude if needed to recive imidiate emergency medical care.

Not necessarily true!!!!! i had a major seizure in my docs office and was sent to the ER. I was placed in the hallway for over 2 hours waiting for a bed!!!!!!

people just try to stay healthy and away from any hospital. those who work there are just making $ and really are too stressed out to care about every little detail. Once you are there or a love one is there just make sure you are constantly questioning every little action they take. peace!

I'm not sure about whether or not that 47 million uninsured number includes illegal aliens, can anyone clarify that. What I do know is that in my 20's I turned down salary with benefits when I got a promotion because I was healthy and would have larger paychecks if I stayed hourly without benefits. It was my choice and i'm sure others have and will make that choice in the future (if they have it).

That 47 million is an estimate given by The National Coalition on Health Care. These numbers do not include illegal aliens. And the hourly or salary choice is almost as non-existent as employers offering a good health insurance plan. I worked for a tower/antenna construction company for 8 years and they gave us this choice and I also picked hourly because it was a much bigger paycheck when the weather was good at least, but it also included benefits. Company went bankrupt last year. Go figure.

Typical liberal media story with misleading liberal 'facts'. The guy quotes 47 million uninsured - check out the way that number is arrived at. Any person who didn't have coverage in a year - even for one day - goes into that number. It's an inflated and bogus number.

I almost DIED over the TRIAGE Nurse posting me as a GREEN,(Non-Emergency)patient rather than a RED(Emergency,MUST BE SEEN NOW)because she thought Sickle Cell Anemia Disease was not Life Threatening!This happened because I was BLACK and ALONE!! I believe everyone should not use RACE as a reason to BITCH and COMPLAIN on how OUR family SLAVES back in the DAY!! I don't think Black people,me,should get special treatment but Give Me A Break!!

I don't see the point of this discussion. There's almost always a wait in a hospital and a lot of people die on the way to the hospital so what? Are you going to make special train like routes for transporting injured people at insane speeds to save their lifes but also waste loads of money? Fuck no.

The American health care system is criminal! It's 90% profit 10% health care. This is what happens when a country does not set the prices on each procedure and fails to provide a fair social heath care system. Canada, United Kingdom, Taiwan, Japan, Germany, and Switzerland all have superior health care services compared to us, the wealthiest nation in the history of the world. By the way, it's closer to 75 million Americans that are not insured and over 40 million that are under-insured.

I've used the French health care system while I lived there and my brother in law had to try to get help in England while he lived there; both of us had horrible experiences. You've seen how bureaucrats handle hospitals. Please don't spread Walter Reed from sea to shining sea.

Well free is better than none. And I never praised the French health care system because I know nothing about it. And there are bad experiences in all systems. Walter Reed? This is a military hospital and we all know our government doesn't give a shit about our military, other than the hardware at least. Give me Taiwan's, Japan's, Great Britain's, Germany's, or Switzerland's health care system over America's any day. Anything is better than what we have.
