Hold down Fn and F6 and a thing will pop up asking to use the integrated or the dedicated. Put it on dedicated and you should run waaay better! :D your welcome!
Dual Graphics Cards is pretty self explainitory, and I assure that the m11x does NOT have them aha. Idk if you turning that on effected the performance but COULD explain why the game play was so choppy when you showed it.
can i ask for ur opinion better buy m11x r3 or m14x? i wan a compaq and long lasting battery but m14x got more high graphic ,14 inch screen and the price is just around the corner but the battery not as powerfull as m11x ..so which one should i buy?
Funny, when I received mine in the mail, the initial play was similar to this. It's not about optimus. It is about the drivers. Going to Nvidia's website solved the problem. I doubt the Intel chip can play call of duty at that fidelity.
Demo's are not a direct comparison to the full length game so you will get loads of graphical and frame rate problems with the demo where as the full game will run perfectly...so with that bullet storm prob' there is no prob'!
What the hell, you have no clue. Why the hell are you playing on integrated graphics and not the nvidia graphics? "Dual video cards" ................................. How stupid are you? If you had it overclocked, running on the nvidia grahpics it would destroy those games
@yourmotheris19 M11x might be 11'' but it has a giant bezel. Sony Vaio SB actually weighs less, is thinner and has less depth. Overall, Vaio SB is the smaller computer despite having two inches of extra screen estate.
It's one of the worst things about M11X, it does not use all the space it has. a 12 or 13 with its current size should have been mandatory IMO!
Hey, I think I might know what the problem is. Check and see if your battery is on battery saver or somthing like that. Cause I saw another video on youtube of a guy that had the same problem with bulletstorm and he said the problem was fixed by taking it off battery saver.
Also, there was no way you were averaging that on Bulletstorm, the FPS was almost at a stand still. It was not your camera lagging, as it was constantly auto focusing, showing no problems whatsoever.
This is proof that ultra portability and gaming still isnt great. Portability wise, I'll still take a MBA over this, purely because of the fact that its a fraction of the thickness of an M11X. The screen is also vastly superior.
If Dell upgraded the screen or offered a matte option I might go Alienware, but Apple will be getting my money this round.
Im still deciding between this and the almost same sized Sony Vaio SB - With a full i7 core processor(not ULV), Blu-Ray and 6330 Ati Graphics. It scores around the same performance(a bit weaker GPU, but stronger cpu). They have equal battery life almost. Both have mediocre displays, but Sony Vaio has Matte display so it can be used outdoors. The Vaio is a bit more expenssive but not priced like Vaio Z(4000 USD when maxed).
@superbroombroom Indeed, it should detect the software you are launching. The purpose of the Optimus is to use integrated gpu when you browse the net and watch movies, basically when you're on the go to get more battery life. And when you want pure gaming power, you just switch to the nvidia GPU. And no, you could easily switch the gpu's on r1 and r2 through nvidia control panel. New drivers made it even easier.
Find the nvidia Optimus settings on your R3. Obviously you are playing on the integrated intel graphics. Find out how to switch on to the nvidia 540m gt. It should be in nvidia control panel settings. There you can choose the game exe. files for which your pc should use the nvidia card. R3 can run Crysis 2 on extreme 20-30 fps and starcraft 2 on ultra. good luck
@jstR1337 I doubt you'll feel the difference between the 2 core or 4 core cpu. m14 is more powerful thanks to nvidia 555m GT but it's heavier and veeeery loud when under full load. it depends on what do you need. m11x r3 is perfect for gaming, and if you want to watch a movie you can just plug it to your monitor or a TV.
@OmegaDmitry I agree people say the fan is too load (but its not) and its tiny but the m11x is best for mobile gaming, battery life, and portability while the m14x is bulky and lacks battery life and has a very loud fan
@OmegaDmitry ya I was gonna say, 24 on portal 1? That doesn't sound right for an nvidia 540m gt. But, it's ok he doesn't seem to have a complete idea of what he is doing :P

You don't have SLI or CrossfireX (Do that for the m18x option) - You don't need to set the option for "Dual video cards" to yes... lol

/watch?v=vTmWfXi5EXA
transformerXXX7 7 months ago
@transformerXXX7 well, we assume that you would be running on the 540m gt for benchmark tests rather than an integrated graphics.
rhstsoccer 7 months ago
its impossible that with specs like these you have only 30fps in cod4
with lower specs like gt 420m 1gb graphic card, intel i3-370m 2,4ghz processor, 4gb ddr3 1067mhz in mw2 med settings i have about 60-130fps.
maybe you are using intel hd card? cuz u have to switch between 540gt and intel hd
jstR1337 10 months ago
you should run a full performance benchmark
