  • My name is Caroline. Last night I went to a Tour de Nerdfighting. When John Green signed my book, he told me to look this song up. New favorite song? I think so.

  • I just read on O.C.M.S. link that they have parted ways with WILIE WATSON..SAY it ain't SO!! I am bummed! But, on a better note..they Have CRITTER Fuqua , an original member back..just ain't right without Willie..

  • I saw these guys live in a tiny little bar in Perth Australia. They could barely all fit on the stage, there was less than 70 people in the room. A-Mazing!

  • I met Cory, Gill, and Willie after a show in my college town. It was glorious. Amazing guys. Amazing music.

  • great song guys,, reminds me of my roots,,, watching the uncles sitting on the front porch picking,, thanks

  • I think that this is more of a clever mix of old-timey mountain music styles, bluegrass, and folk, with some modern country influences.

  • This is not bluegrass! It's old timey string band music.

  • Nice!

  • What!?!? Rock music did not come from bluegrass! BAHAHAHA! Don't listen to that idiot. ^^^ Can we stop talking about bluegrass and just comment on the song and peoples and stuff??? My goodness.

  • CAROLINE: I MISSED YOU AND Y LOVE YOU

  • I absolutely hate country music but Bluegrass is definitely me favorite music genre.

  • This makes me want it to be fall. Nothing like listening some OCMS in the fall.

  • "Yuppp i do just fine"(singing) Cuz my name is Carolinnee :D

  • Which ones willie watson?

  • @chocfan2 The one Playing the acoutic guitar and being a badass... Oh wait, that wasn't very percise info, The one playing acoustic guitar. They're all badass.

  • buena musica

  • I love the cute little moment of goofing around with Willie and Morgan around 1:00.

  • This is wonderful string-band music. It was pop music a hundred years ago and it`s just as relevant and beautiful today. Thanks to bands like Old Crow Medicine Show this gorgeous, heart-felt music lives on. Long may it be so. Thanks for the clip

  • They are so good, I love them:)

  • love that picture of i-40 coil burnt out on tha car and me and my girl was broke down there ex33

  • Old Crow makes me wish I could get a banjo and a harmonica going on in my own music. What a feeling!

  • Old Crow Medicine Show is so amazing that they don't sound different from studio recordings and from a live concert what other bands can do that...... NONE

  • I think they sound 1,000xs BETTER live. The studio just can't capture their magic. I've never heard or seen anything like them before.

  • Could somebody recommend your favorite songs and albums of theirs? I need a place to start.

  • @TheFletch827 wagon wheel by old crow medicine show it by far the greatest song they did ull like it

  • @TheFletch827 Son Volt ,Uncle Tupelo, Jayy Farrar (solo)

  • Y'all bore me. Listen. Like or don't. It's great music to you, or it's not. bluegrass, rock, folk ... call it "a billy goat" if you want. What does it matter the label? Just shut your mouth and open your ears.

  • @Hectorious2 i always come back to these tunes.`it cures all my ails'...peace,goodwill & freindship is all new to first time adults.rock on

  • @Hectorious2 Bluegrass is very different from this "hippie" music. Most bluegrass musicians would fight that principle to the end. It may seem like a very subtle difference at first and it is arguable, but there is a difference.

  • @wvhollerboy2 i agree, traditional bluegrass and "Newgrass" (as this is sometimes called) do have slight differences.

  • @Hectorious2 Hey..hi..you can go to the 'People of WAL-MART' websites for your further entertainment :-))) BTW Thanks for listening.. even if it was only long enough to whine..this is your sign off punk..here piggy-p-i-g-g-g-g-g!! Sleep tight cry-baby :-))

  • Rock music was on the radio before I ever heard of bluegrass music and I'm talking the late 50s and Elvis Presley. An early form of rock and roll was rockabilly, which combined country and jazz with influences from traditional Appalachian folk music and gospel.

  • yummie

  • Now this is real country. Not "A Big Green Tractor" but real, grass roots country. Love it

  • *Love* that the two top rated comments contradict each other. (Also *love* that NevadaTanFan would rather redefine things than admit that s/he likes country music.)

  • i thought this was folk. :/ just sayin.

  • Anyone know what key the harmonica is in?? Thanks!

  • @CodyL32

the song is in D so the harmonica will be in G. Great song

  • @RobinUp2 i'm pretty sure that the harmonica is in D as well actually.

  • @RobinUp2 too bad the chorus is in "off key"

  • @TheRocketSilo i think they are supposed to sound off key! If you listen to the harmonies of some of their other songs, they sound a bit off too, but I guess that is what makes them charming and it is part of the bluegrass way for them. Gotta love them either way!

  • @Pilotpatty1 ricky scaggs was never off key and he's the king ... these guys are just trying to ride the coat tails of the nitty gritty dirt band... that's cool but I don't care for them personally

  • this song has an anal sex reference

"you be the pitcher and the catcher too"

  • @hobbesdream It's actually a legitimate baseball reference. The Gashouse gang is a reference to the St. Louis Cardinals team from 1934.

And I am not a baseball buff or anything, but I just couldn't imagine Old Crow singing about anal sex, so iI looked it up.

  • oh man i'm listenin' to this song for like 5 days!!! love it. man these guys can play

  • nice song. put it on my website 1001wishes,org

  • I live in Knoxville, so it's cool to see OCMS not only release a DVD that was recorded here but to feature shots of the area in one of my favorite song's video. Glad they did it here and not Nashville, that's overdone.

  • awesome video minus dude in the yellow shirt at 0:25.

  • Man, this song makes me love. People who pass by OCMC deserve their hate.

  • @cheapassassin What?

  • this is a very good band and they put on a very good live show

  • please come to switzerland...!!!!

  • Such a Wonderful Band! Even better Live... So much energy!

  • You Guys are my kind of guys. good music, great vocals ,

  • check out the up and coming band WAYSIDE covering wagon wheel. Just search wayside wagon wheel. Thanks!

  • @fen511 Thank you for the recommendation. I just checked out Wayside. They have a new fan.

  • i hate bluegrass and this aint bluegrass, its old time folk blues menstrual show jug band americana rock. Just because there is a fiddle and a banjo don't make it blue grass

  • @bigcountrypicker Bluegrass isn't always gospel either. As a Kentucky boy born and raise, OCMS can say it's whatever they feel like. But it's nice bluegrass to me.

  • @cheapassassin

Some of that old Bluegrass could be amped up turned stone cold death metal. Thinking Knoxville Girl, Louvin bros. It's all music and it's all connected. Me? I just love music. The older I get the better my fathers music gets.

    Not a bad thing.......

  • @bigcountrypicker How come no one picked up on this one??? "Menstrual show?" Maybe you're just being sarcastic? They're not a minstrel show either, though. "The minstrel show, or minstrelsy, was an American entertainment consisting of comic skits, variety acts, dancing, and music, performed by white people in blackface or, especially after the Civil War, black people in blackface." From Wikipedia

  • This Is Awesome....... Check This Out!!!

  • Oh yout music is ...... ....... .... THE BEST

  • Blue Grass is like the Punk Rock of country,

  • @highonfire20

I have never heard it stated that way, But you are so correct.. lol

    EPIC!

    ~Pc-Tech~

  • @highonfire20 wOW great fuckin point!!! you re awesome for that haha cuz its true

  • @highonfire20

A Montana boy, having driven across this country many times to Philly and NY during college and law school, there is nothing that makes me pause and smile like this song. Second only to Social Distortion, Cat Stevens and whatever random local station had.

Now living in Spain, I still pause and smile hearing this, That's a beautiful thing.

  • @highonfire20 it not a far throw from 1969 rock n roll at woodstock,NY.....i'm on fire, they tel me i'm going to die with my bad heart...this music is a healer.its hitting every beat in heart....the old crow medicine show will cure all your ails.praise jesus.i lived on the sweet green levie in new orleans on the mississippi.just a stones throw away from the huey p. long bridge..

  • @trainrecked he did not croak as you would think,he fell flat on his face and literally bit the dust...he is on alot of meds to stay alive, diabetes, heart, high blood pressure,5 back surgeries, open heart sugery, neck surgery and reconstructive ball surgery(bad accident 23 years ago,he was a machinist and was running one of hitlers gear cutting machines that hitler used to make the bearings for his panzers/tiger tanks..he worked on cutting oil & had to climb up in the machine & fell.he lives thx

  • @fathertheo Thanks for the info of this tough old bird. Good to know he's alive..maybe not so well..but well enough to know a great band when he hears it, He's got some big problems...But, nothin' wrong with his ears!

  • @trainrecked he's tuf nut to crack.i personally drink brandy.the captain on the uss aylwin DE1081 (destroyer escort) ordered a shot of brandy for me in the middle of the indian ocean after i swam out to retrieve a iranian torpedo that hit our ship starbard bow and bounced off.it was not armed, they (the iranians in 1974) had just bought 4 new frigots from england,.i swam out to strap it & tow back to the boat.after we were underway & steaming@21 knots,it blew up.i ask for another please.hee hee
