I was a little kid the first time my dad took me to see Leon. It was at Red Rocks outside of Denver. I saw many of the old guys with my dad, but that concert is one of my strongest memories. Leon is a true legend and an American treasure!
One of the greatest blues singles, of all time, was recorded in January, 1955. It featured Little Walter on vocal and harp, Muddy Waters on slide guitar, Willie Dixon on bass, and Otis Spann on piano. I feel confident that every one of those guys would give THIS version two thumbs-up.
Leon Rules! His induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame made me happier than almost anything else in recent years.
