  • Gud job sweetheart.:)

  • Great job

  • awesome!!

  • I FIND THIS MOTHER TO BE AMAZING ! i HAVE SEEN SO MANY WHITE MOTHERS WITH CHILDREN WITH COARSE KINKY HAIR AND THE HAIR LOOKS SO UNKEPT. I ALWAYS WONDER IF THEY ARE OVERWHELMED BECAUSE OF THIER LACK OF KNOWLWDGE OF HOW TO CARE FOR THIER CHILDS HAIR. NOW I SEE THIS MOTHER WHO HAS GAINED THE KNOWLEDGE FOR THE BENEFIT OF HER DAUGHTERS. I AM ACTUALLY LEARNING FROM HER. LOL

  • I love the way you teach it is awsome. I have been looking for a flat twist tutorial and this is the best one ive seen so far. please keep posting more tutorials love it thanks:)

  • SKILLZ!

  • Thank you for making this video! I have to agree that I have watched tons of tutorials and when they started to demonstrate the technique I was unable to see what they were doing. I can actually follow your technique from start to finish. I can't wait to give this a try.

  • wonderful tutorial, I understood every word and could see exactly what you were doing...I've watched at least a dozen of these video's ..some are so long ...you can't see what they're doing or anything....thank you so much for the info....I really thing I can master both twists with a little practice....expecially the rolling twist. I have fine relaxed hair and would love something different...w

What would i use on my hair?

  • You are a life saver. I have adopted African American kids and have been struggling with my daughter's hair (and damaged it) for 7 years. I have been depressed and desperate to help her. Your easy instruction is going to give her better self-esteem and save me a lot of money! Thank you.

  • thanks for this video!!! I am Caucassion with a fiance' that has an african american girl. I have/am teaching myself how to care for her hair. I have already taught myself how to cornrow her hair as well as her dads (THE PARTING GETS ME THOUGH). I know how to do the puff twist but couldn't figure out how to keep them from puffing.. THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!

  • CUTE! NOW SHE NEEDS THE LIL GIRL SASSY SWAG SILK HAIR WRAP.

PLS WATCH. SASSY SWAG DESIGNS IS THE PLACE TO ORDER

  • i love these videos!! i dont' know too many white ladies who even know how to treat the hair, i have friends with mixed kids and they send them over to me to do it for them (i dont have any kids of my own && im white too lol) but yu gave me a few great ideas that im ready to try...i just admire yu, because especially where im from, this is unheard of!! thanks for opening doors && ending stereotypes :)

  • Girl I love your videos. I got all kinds of ideas now. I especially like this one. I like doing two strand twist but I want to something a little extra and I think this is it. :) (I might skip the barrettes since I'm an adult. LOL) THANKS!!!

  • yOUR REALLY TALENTED! tHANK YOU FOR YOUR VIDEOS!!

  • i would really appreciate it if u could show me how to zig zag cornrow :) thnkx in advance

  • oh thts how u do it i have to admit i didnt no how to do rolling twist as i said before u have talent

  • I have natural hair and I have been looking for flat twist tutorials and this one is one of the clearest as you can clearly see what your hands are doing! I want to do flat twist sets and flat twist outs but I can't see in some other vids how to twist the hair but I get it now! :) THANKS!!!

  • ok how do I get my daughter to be as patient as this little girl? Great video

  • This is sooo pretty!!.. great tutorial!!!...

  • thank you so much! this is the best flat twist vid that ive seen. now i understand how to flat twist. when i do it on myself they are loose but i'll keep practicing! =)

  • Thanks for posting this. I'm african-american and my 3 year old daughter has really long curly hair. I can braid her hair, which use to last a week, but now that her texture is changing, I wanted to learn something new. Hopefully I can get this and try cornrowing too. Thanks so much!

  • wow this is the only vid that actually demonstrated how to do this the best thx

  • I am very proud of you. You are doing an excellent job! Kudos to you Katelynylyn!

  • Can you show how you wash your girls hair. That is the most difficult part for me. My daughter has extra thick hair and its always a fight to shampoo and condition.

  • @LilKiss2009 - please subscribe and watch for the announcement of the launch of my new website. I will talk about hair washing when the site gets started! I have recently started washing V's hair while in twists, and I think it is going to turn out to be my new favorite way to wash hair. It cuts down on the tangling that happens while washing and I don't have to do as much combing! YEAH!

  • @LilKiss2009 i know for me its easier to wash my hair and my baby's hair when its in twists.and what you do is just rub the shampoo on your fingertips and start to massage the scalp with it.your scalp needs to get as clean as possible.when you rinse the shampoo off of the scalp it will run down the hair strands and clean your hair that way.never put shampoo directly onto hair, especially if it has sulates.=] sulfates with strip the hair of everything including it's natural oils.=]

  • @LilKiss2009 If you're still having trouble (i doubt it since its been a year) what I like to do for my neices and nephews is use a detachable showerhead and shampoo and condition their hair in sections, keeping the areas Im not currently working on twisted up to avoid getting new tangles

  • You are doing a wonderful job with that baby's hair! Her hair looks so strong and healthy . I hope you never put any chemicals in her hair. Love the videos! Thanks for sharing.

  • Great job and cute style! You explained it so well!

  • Lucky kid not to mention lucky mom - LOL!

  • You are doing an awesome job on that baby girls hair. Her hair is healthy, thick and full of sheen. Bravo! Keep doing what you are doing!

  • how do you do this with Caucasian hair?

    Just curious.

    Get back at me(:

  • @lyssaboo1000 exactly the same way, except you always have to band or clip them at the end or they will fall out, I've had my hair in flat twists and they stayed in about 3 days but looked messy after 2, cornrows stay in longer. My mum used to braid my hair and she found that if I used conditioner it was harder for her because the hair is more slippery, that's the only difference, it was much easier for me to braid her hair as hers is more textured (we have Aboriginal ancestry).

  • @lyssaboo1000 it doesn't hold good in caucasian hair :(

  • Very pretty! Her hair looks wonderful

  • I did this with flat twists, but you were right, it didn't last very long in the front. I'm going to watch more videos to see if I can learn to cornrow. Thank you for sharing.

  • this video is better than the others because you can actually see EVERY step. hopefully i can learn to do flat twists. i need to wear something other than two strand twists.

  • i am going to show my neighbor this, she adopted 2 black girls and their hair is just wild, lol. I will be doing one of their hair tomorrow since i can't take it anymore. she needs to step her game and atleast try and i will show her your video. great job

  • You better work!!! GREAT JOB!!

  • Go ahead girl! You do black hair better than I! You do us proud!

  • Her hair looks beautiful. Great job, and thanks for sharing!

  • Great video, I just recently found out about flat twist and plan to try them on my girls hair.

  • ahhh, so jealous. i wish i could braid!

  • @ MissVampireDiaries it's not braids.. all she did was twist the hair.>> flat twists and two strand twists

  • i enjoyed it too. great work

  • you are really great. you know more about how to style afro hair texture than me. And I have afro texture hair. You really keep her hair beautiful.

  • this... is the best vid i've seen on flat twists!!! thanx

  • I think you have done an excellant job on the girls hair. I just wanted to know do you ever blow dry there hair or just towel dry and style.

  • nope never used a blow dryer, I don't really do much with a towel either, just catch the drips :)

  • You are doing a wonderful job. I watched your videos and i still don't know how to cornrow hair!! Can you teach me in person how to do conrows? Im not a visually learner i have to actually do it. I tried to do it on my nieces hair and i still dont know how.

  • Katelynlyn you are absolutely amazing. Many women, black white spanish can learn from your videos.

  • Good morning Mrs. Katelynylyn,

I would love for you to show a video on how to complete the rows of twist from the nape area and around the ears. I can never get this right. Thanks so much in advance.

  • I'm so jealous! I can't even braid!

  • Your styles are too cute. How often do you washer your girls hair and what products do you use?

  • Thank you for sharing how to do a twist and flat twists.

  • GREAT TUTORIAL.... I am subbing.

    Lovely

  • You are an excellent instructor!!

  • I wish you could do my hair!!!! seriously.lol Beautiful job! (^__ ^) keep the vids coming.

  • Her hair has grown so much, I am really impressed. It is nice to see that you have learned how to do black hair. Great family, good job.

  • Thanks mrsprimo999 on your response.

    Hi Katelynylyn,

What type of design would you have created in order to get the twist look in the video? Is it different from the box braids?

  • I love your videos - thanks for posting them. I have a biracial daughter and no experience with braiding etc ... your videos are a great help ... keep them coming ;) ... thanks a lot!!! Your daughter is beautiful!!

  • I enjoy watching your videos. You are an excellent teacher and I'm quite impressed.

  • your daughters hair is so beautiful and looks very healthy

  • PorshiaJ15,

at the very END of the video Katelynlyn says you can just split your braid into 2 sections and start to twist. I think it would hold with a cornrow at the front but if you have twists, you would have to use a band.

  • Hi Katelynlyn,

If I wanted to achieve this look, how would I change up from the cornrow or the flat twist to end with the twist that you have all over the head? Thanks for your response.

  • I think you would have to use a band to keep it tight

  • You do such an excellent job, Katelynlyn. I mean, you explanations are so thorough - within the first minute of your video, you gave precise instructions. Wow!

    You're a great mom!

  • This lady has beautiful and creative styles. GJ!!!! love it!!!! beasutiful.. makes me love my hair!

  • CUTE hairstyle.... :D

  • Kudos, Katelynylyn! I knew how to braid my own hair, but now, b/c of your videos, I can get the hand position correct for braiding other's, too. Thanks for all of your useful tutorials!

  • I have the utmost respect and admiration for what you do. All your styles look amazing!

Keep it up and God bless you.

  • your daughter has gorgeous, healthy, natural hair. u have done a wonderful job caring for and styling their hair. . i appreciate you working with their natural hair. keep up the great work!!!

  • great video! I have never seen anyone do roll twists that way. Your method of roll twisting looks neater than the method I know.

  • I am loving this. I always wanted to know how you got your twist to turn out. I figured that you would post a tutorial eventually. I just had to be patient. I know you may hear this alot but your videos are very much helpful to me. I went from doing ponytails on a daily basis to being able to cornrow in a couple of days with practice. I just completed my first style that you did from V's Hair Journey video. Please send me your email so that I can send you pictures.

  • I really enjoy your vids, thanks so much for posting! I have tried the twists on my own hair and they were never very neat, but your systematic methodology is sure to improve them! thanks again!

  • I love your tutorials. Ive actually learned to cornrow.. Thanks for sharing. Thanks to the girls also.

  • Thank you for this. Your videos are always so helpful. I enjoy watching them. Very creative you are! Very beautiful daughters as well!
