Sorry, you fail. Industrial engineering is NOT engineering. They cannot design anything. They do have a place and can be useful though. However, lies like this are just as bad as Business students.
Sorry, but you just took the easy way out of university.
I am IE, but I really recomend that going to Mechanicall o other ingennering like design... with the actually technology is no more necesary now this Ing. i was useful in the pass to determinate the production capability of the operators or other simple things like measuring moves in the lates 1890 but no now when a software can do that and a technician do it in few seconds....so i recomend the Mechanical Ing, now...the IE is pass thing....beside is no well pay at all. sorry but is true.
@vmp0001 You are not going to be successful as an Industrial Engineer because you have poor communication skills. In fact, you will not be good as a mechanical engineer either. You must have been a very poor student if you think any analysis can be done in a few seconds
@gayapri sorry girl but English is not my 1st. lenguague, in fact i dont live in U.S. but the tendency is that I.E. is a ussefull profesion, is a fact....i recomend to the other guy to studie something like mechanical or mechatronics eng. do you think right now we need measuring time and movements? that was used in the begining of 1900 century but now thats not necesary.....an again IE is not well pay at all.
@vmp0001 I am a Mechanical Engineer. But currently work as an IE since there is shortage of IEs in the US. I wish I had a formal IE degree. After all, what engineers design has to be built and and it cannot be done efficiently without IEs. IEs get paid much more in the US. On your comment about time measurement - It is still needed because standards for manual labor can only be established by these means. Should teaching statics and dynamics be stopped - because we have FEM software
