  • sound is simillar too hgt

  • Those wheels are sick

  • Sounds like a baby r32! Like it.

  • Great sounding Golf mate! And yes, that fly is incredibly lucky to be alive!

  • very lucky fly lmao

  • lollzzz at the fly :P

  • 7 people dislike flies!

  • it is fucking VR5 idiots

  • @stalkeris654 call it what you want, on the back of the car from the fuckin VW factory it says V5 so............

  • That is quite mad lol

  • that fly definitely likes V5 :)

  • And yes, all one block to cut costs as it would be pointless having one whole block seperate for 2 cylinders. Mr v8 american guy doesn't know much if he didn't know that there is such a thing as a v5.

  • Superv8driver, its not impossible at all! 1 bank of 3 and 1 bank 2 opposite! You must be american as i've never heard such noncense from other english people before.

  • @emokiddy666 technically speaking it's only one bank of staggered cylinders not two. But other than that you are correct.

  • niceeeeeeeeeee

  • Commonly referred to as a VR5,

  • Christ, I've got a Golf 4 170bhp V5, and you just made me buy an powerflow exhaust! :>

  • Sounds good, but not as good as a VR6.

  • Nice sound!

  • ahuahuahauuhha

  • very good motor

  • Im pretty sure thats an i5 and not v5 i dont think they make v5. But i may be wrong....

  • @suprakilzz26 lol my bad side vids prove im wrong, learn new shit every day haha

  • @suprakilzz26 Defo a V5 mate, they still make a V5 golf now, i think you may be thinking of the IHI they did in some countries which was a larger horsepowered version of the GTI (180 instead of 150bhp i think)

  • @stuwhipps Well if you want to get really technical about it it's actually a VR5 motor and therefore not a true V motor. All 5 cylinders share one bank that are staggered instead of two inline banks of cylinders. There is an angle (I believe 15 degrees) though. So technically it's a cross breeding of an inline 5-cylinder and that theoretical V5. I'd be willing to call it a V5 though.

  • @stuwhipps also as far as know the MK5 and MK6 Golfs were never available with the VR5/V5 engine and what suprakilzz26 is talking about the MK5 Golf which in certain countries was available with a 2.5L inline 5-cylinder producing 150 hp and 177 lb. feet of torque. My 2007 VW Jetta has that motor and it sounds nearly identical to this motor here. If you're looking for a comparison check out he video I have up of me doing 0-130 in my Jetta. This is not spam btw so please don't report me haha!

  • @stuwhipps Here we have the Vento with a 2.5 inline 5, 170hp. The v5 2.3 is a totally different history...

  • @stuwhipps haha thanks, but if you have noticed this question has been answered numerous times... Thanks again tho. Nice to know there's some decent ppl on youtube that will give straight forward answers rather than flaming the hell out of you...

  • @suprakilzz26 First time I've heard of these Volkswagen engines. (European only?) Well, it's got a pretty tasty sound, I've got to say! I'm guessing this is a 4-valve/cyl=20valves total...Don't quite understand the degrees of crank journal spacing or the firing order/the inherent imbalance/use of counter- rotating balance shaft (or two?) The Honda RC211 V5 racing motorcycle really sounds awesome--check out the video! & BUT 1 thing I'm pretty sure of, nobody's going to make any 7 cylinder car!

  • @stuwhipps Its not a v5, its more of an I5. It is a staggered inline 5, Similar to the older VR6 but only 5 cylinders. It only has one bank of cylinders so technically its not a V engine.

  • @suprakilzz26 Its a V5, but it doesnt have separate blocks like some V-engines, its all in the same block, just like the VR6 engines!

  • @suprakilzz26 volkswagen calls it v5, but of course it is impossible to built it in v ! its straight 5 !

  • @suprakilzz26 Actually V5 is a bit of a misnomer since these engines are basically VR6 engines with one cylinder missing! Like the famous VR6, the cylinders are set at a 15deg angle with one bank of 2 and one bank of 3 cylinders and all cylinders fed by the same head. The firing order is the same as an equivalent inline motor. These engines always cause some confusion to those unaware of their existence since VW also makes a 20V inline-5 for North American models.

  • @328ie30 thanks alot, very informative information u gave there haha. I recently looked into the v5 engines and really understood them. Currently working on a vr6 turbo for a mk3 golf for a buddy of mine! It should rip hard once finished!!!

  • @328ie30 also have 20V inline 4

  • @suprakilzz26 its more like a VR5 they way its layed out. wish we had those here in canada. sounds helllaa nicee. take this over a 1.8t any dayy

  • @BuddyLIM haha yea some dude told me that before, never knew they made those haha.... Id much rather have a 1.8t tho! Much more tuning out there for it...

  • @suprakilzz26 thats truee tooo. i still like my VR6 =D

  • @suprakilzz26 It's neither I5 or V5... "It is similar to a 'Vee' engine, but with the two banks of cylinders offset and tilted from each other by a narrow angle of either 10.6 or 15 degrees - instead of the more common 45°, 60°, or 90° as found on conventional Vee engines." -Wikipedia

  • @suprakilzz26 they cut one cylinder off the vr6 to make the v5 later they gave it two cam shafts for more zoom zoom

  • @apache1234657 It had two camshafts from the start ... they added 10 valves :D

  • @suprakilzz26

they did a 2.3l v5 with 150 and 170 bhp, i own one. but they are very rare

  • oooh you almost kill a fly :( jajaja

  • sounds amazing, what kind of rims are those? would like them for my v5 as well

  • jaja que mamada!!

  • omg.. that fly :) thumb up

  • LOL

  • trop de chance la petite mouche !!!!lol Jolie voiture et super son !!!

  • Whats the average fuel usage with the 2.3 v5? Nice movie btw ^^

  • kkkkkkkkkkkkkkk very cool ^^

Awesome sound, reminds me a bit of an RS4 :)

  • LoLFly

  • fuck omg this fly is sooo lucky;)

great car and perfect sound by the way!

  • i hate powerflow i got a pipe fiitted to my car and all the welds came loose after the 1st day so i replaced the pipe back with the original one i think they are rushed and they dont use good quality materials it never sounded good people just thought i have a blowing exhaust. i would not recomend them at all. you could see it close up they never done a good job the tip was angled using weld!!!!!!!!!!

  • :D die kamera erkennt sogar das viech was da her krabbelt:D

  • owned an 1981 audi quatro 2.4 in the days، mk 1 gti mk3 v6, i currently own a 4motion mk4 and planing to get a beet up v5 for rebuilding. I belive vw stoped making golfs with the mk 4 models. The rest are just noobtoys with a badge, no passion. Dude i envy you for this car hope it treats you good for a long time from now.

  • i like the sound.but the fly is soooo funny^^

  • lol nice 5 cylinder sound :) sounds amazing :)

Love that fly, as a nice coincidence, also :)

  • Just purchased a BOSI/Bosima 2 x 76mm stainless steel exhaust for mine. Will put it on in the spring. along with the summer tires.

  • nice vid mate , not long bought a bora v5 150ps , its spanking my wallet a bit at the mo!!, i find i drive with the window down a lot just to listen to the engine (i must get out more!!!)

  • Delicious sound! I had one of these back in the days. I still missing this typical 5 cylinder sound!

  • Very nice!

  • Super sound, check my v5

  • We've jus brought one too.....Fun

  • Its all your fault.

I watched this vid and loved the sound so much that I went out and bought a Golf V5. No, honestly :) Just need to get it chipped and put a decent exhaust on it now.

Its an amazing car - and that 20valve 170bhp V5 engine is a stormer! It doesn't seem that fast because its so smooth and refined - until you check the speedo. Gulp! Combine that with an average of 31mpg and its an awesome package.

So if I lose my licence, its all your fault :)

  • @SwampyV8 i have Passat V5 170 bhp also awsome car but dont look as much sporty as golf coz is totally standard, and before that had bora V5 150 bhp,so im real fan of VW V5

  • In my opinion the best GTI

  • Theres a new Audi TT with this engine

    Audi TT-RS V5 Turbo

  • @S1And3r0n

Audi TT RS has the straight 5 from the jetta from usa not a v5

  • @hihahoera

Audis Straight 5 Cyl is bulit in Europe actually, it nothing to do with the Jetta in America

  • its the straigt 5 from the american golf (rabbit)

but its modified and also got a turbocharger

  • That sounds better than any V6!! lovely haunting sound!

  • lol, anyone else spot the luckiest bug in the world.....?!

  • Ha ha just seen that now, quality !!

  • Haha! good lord! how close was that
