  • Beautiful,But sad song.Thans for the upload

  • This song is actually about wanting to leave the west and go back east. This woman's husband was rich and owned a large ranch on the plains. But after he died his wife abandoned it due to her selfish desire to see her family again. In her absence the horses, bulls, and cows all died of starvation.

  • Loved it! Too bad it wasn't longer.

  • Absolutely Beautiful, Great Job

  • Poor John Marstone

  • THE Greatest Cowboy Tune EVER, thumbs up if you agree!!!!!

  • See 'Sons of the Pioneers - 'O Bury me not on the lone prairie'

Better version, but both are beautiful.

  • its from johnny cash not from her

  • Actually it's not from johnny cash either, as much as i like him i wish it was. Someone else wrote it in the early 1900s as kind of like an "alternative" to the original sea song called "the sailors grave".

  • its from johnny cash not from her

  • I love the song and the singer... But it's a summary of the genuine words. Good but too short!

  • Thats right. its so beautiful i just wish it was longer!

  • Nice!

  • Thanks for the comment!
