  • that is usually what happens, owners ring me and say my dog was doing NOTHING and this SUDDENLY happened and there was nothing wrong before. The fact is there was nothing wrong before THAT THE OWNERS/OTHER PEOPLE NOTICED. It could be possible that your boy has been out of alignment for a long time. Most dogs live with pinched nerves for their whole life until something triggers off the pain being too much (eg winter/not much at all), and then symptoms become obvious. let me know how you go!

  • My 7yr old Bassett started doing this tonight. Cant walk or stand. We are scared and dont know what to do with him. 8 hrs we have him on a blanket and he wont eat, drink or go outside. We carried him on a blanket but he just sits there.:(Any ideas? Thanks

  • @HerbWalker Where are you located? My guess from the symptoms you have described, without seeing him or knowing his history of course, is that he is out of alignment with pinched nerves. You need your boy seen to by a reputable proven animal chiropractor to have him realigned. When pinched nerves are released pain will instantly subside. Allow him time to lie around and the muscle spasm and inflamation will reduce (acupuncture can help this after realigning) & movement shld return

Last night for no reason my 7 yr old Bassett/Cocker mix suddenly lost control of his back legs. He wasn't DOING anything. Been on a blanket aLL night waiting for a Vet to open at 8AM. He is panting from time to time, stomach is really tight, head is arched up and back and NO control over his paralyzed legs. Wife & I are at our wits end here. Hes had NO health issues or injuries ever. Thanks Herb in El Paso Tx (915)383-8258
