  • I like it's external design, kinda sexy to me

  • is there a 9mm version of this?

  • @bojanglesme Yes there is.

  • @neo19209 is this better or fn 5-7 or the glock 23 gen 4?

  • @Zico10101010 I don't know about better, but they're all different. Depends on what you'll be using it for as well. An empty Sig is heavier than a full mag 5.7, as the Glock is all around well balanced in weight. Between the 3 I would choose the 23 for conceal carry. I personally carry a Glock 19 about 99% of the time. But the 5.7 is probably my favorite pistol as in design, look, and shoot.

  • @neo19209 i will be using it for self-defense,so the question is what is the lowest recoil in them?

  • @Zico10101010 The lowest recoil of all 3 would have to be the 5.7, second would be the Sig because of its weight, extremely heavy.

  • @neo19209 i think i know my choice thank you.

  • Guns are not toys. PERIOD!! By calling them "toys" you send a message to young people that are easily influenceable, that its ok to mess around with a gun in a playful fashion. I would only caution your descriptive use of "toy."

Having said that, very nice gun. What model Sig .40cal is available with a double stack mag? I noticed yours looks like a single stack. I am going to trade my Glock23 .40 S&W in for a Sig. I carry (legally with CCW) in California and I am ready for a change.

    Cheer

  • Based upon my observation, I noticed your Sig is bone dry. Check out the Sig Sauer website for guidelines on maintenance.

  • Liked how he checked the chamber with his fingers in front of the barrel. Gun Safety MASTER.

  • lol all i need is one hahahaha

  • @Agricola, yes it's a bit heavy, but make no mistake, the best weapon to carry. I have glocks, rugers, sprinfields and even kel-tecs (not recommended) this weapon is superior in every way, worth the extra weight for certain. I wouldn't depend my life on anything else.

  • Hey neo i've had my P229 in .40 S&W for 6 months now and put approx 3500 rounds through it and not had one jam, fail, or misfire. all have shot flawlessly. Since this gun was my very first gun ive owned i spared no expense. i was able to find a 14 round mag from Sig Sauer in .40 S&W. any other pistol just doesnt stand up to it. Maybe a USP40 will since its German made but till then i trust my sig.

  • either way this is a superb sexy piece of engineering!

  • I need some serious spoiling. Gonna get me a Sig 229. Merry Early Christmas, TM!!

    :)

  • I went with the p226 as it has a longer barrel and felt better in my hand. I went with the 40S&W P226 Elite Dark. Beautiful gun for sure.

  • Love this gun, will be my next gun for sure.

  • this gun wasn't made in Germany, it was made in Exeter, New Hampshire.

  • p229 comfortable for CCW? i hear its kinda heavy if your carrying all day

  • @agricola it is really heavy. you would definitely notice it if you carried it concealed.

  • @sixgunpeter...spelling, ya, sucks when your in a vehicle that get hits by an ied and you bang your head to the point of unconsciousness, fuck o

  • @neo19209..."So there were casualties.. Its WAR!" ..fuck you!!! Thats real fucking easy for you to say asshole, only a navy pog would even say some shit like that.

  • @neo19209...nope, just gonna hate the navy for not teaching you assholes battle drills before they send you into the desert i.e. battle drill 1alpha,1, 2,3,4,5,6,7 they should make you reed the 7-8 "infantrymen's bible" from cover to cover and HAVE U perform every battle drill to infantrymen standards before they allow any god damn sailor hit the ground with boots on. the way they send you over now, your a liability and a hazard to the rest of us. "So there were casualties.. Its WAR!" ..fuck U!

  • @dagofromchicago and how does that make you feel?

  • @dagofromchicago You got 3 deplyments? Who gives a shit? Get off your high horse and stop being such a fucking prick! So there were casualties.. Its WAR! Its gonna happen. Are you gonna hate Bush for sending you over there? Are you gonna hate Obama for keeping you over there? Are you gonna hate Dwight Eisenhower or JFK for vietnam? Are you gonna hate Frankil D Roosevelt for WWII? Its assholes like you that give the Armed Forces a bad name! I hope you realize how shitty you made the US Army look

  • @neo19209 Lol, i wanna put a bayonet on my sig xD

  • @dagofromchicago DUDE, learn to spell. You are illiterate. You better stay in the army because nobody else would hire you.

  • @sixgunpeter Your not gonna beat that dude. There's something wrong with him.

  • navy......pog bunch of pussys. if ya had any balls you would have joined the ARMY "INFANTRY" or the Marine Corp "Infantry"

  • @dagofromchicago and you joined what, cod? nice touch on bad mouthing the very same people who have givn their life for douche bags like yourself the right to say what want to say. i honestly wish people who have the nerve to be youtube tough guys would say the things in person to service men/women and see what the outcome would be...but im sure you can beat them all up right? get a life

  • damn i hear the same thing over hear too. but i really dont know what id do if i wasnt in the navy. speaking of witch hows your M&P 15. i did a I.A tour in Iraq and carried the m-16 amd have been turned off to the AR type rifles. saw ur vid but that M&P just looks too damn good.

  • @allhardr0ck I LOVE my M&P15, super reliable and its a very very sexy monster. My favorite rifle and I will be holding on to that for the rest of my like, and its gonna be fun for that zombie apocalypse

  • What made your time in undesirable.

  • @allhardr0ck What didnt lol, the know it all's, the Bull sh*t mind games, Jacksonville its self wasnt too bad it was my job, the commant, but everywhere I went everyone would say "this isnt the Navy, its only this command" I got tired of hearing that and I knew I would hear it everywhere I went so I knew it wasnt for me. But I did meet some GREAT people and made some awesome friends

  • Oh and I've been subscribed to you after I saw your 229 vid.

  • I was at NAS Jax. VP-30. Now I'm at VQ-3 @ Tinker AFB. They remodeled the BX and now the renovated "Exchanges" will now sell weapons.

  • @allhardr0ck I was in the exact same base. Boy I sure dont miss it there lol. Well I know im missing out on the new exchanges but I dont miss my time being in

  • I bought it and I love it. Some people say its a bit heavy without a mag but enjoy the feel of a solid gun. I've put 250 rounds of federal premium and it shoots so smoothly. I was able to get it for a good deal but I did buy it on a Air Force base. But to all others hands down a fantastic weapon. And good to have for the zombie apocalypse or when the commies invade. And Neo keep up the badass videos. Im checking out that remmington 700 you have too.

  • @allhardr0ck You bought it at base? They never sold firearms where I was stationed. Thats not cool lol. I paid full price and taxes for all of mine, well I bought em all when I was out. 04-08. Yes it sure does have a solid tough feel on it and it shoots like a dream. You like my vids so much I dare you to subscribe haha.

  • @allhardr0ck Well I was stationed in Jax FL so it might have just been gayer there. lol

  • Man don't release that slide like that unless you're chambering some brass. You're making me cringe.

  • @mrpicky510 Oh it'll be fine, I even dry fire it from time to time. It wont harm it

  • Great video! I' ll be buying this on Friday on base since everywhere else doesn't carry it. But watching this just sold me on the P229. Just one question what ammo do u put through yours?

  • @allhardr0ck For target and plinking I use the regular winchester FMJ white box and for personal defense I use the corbon, winchester hollow points. Good luck and I hope you like it as much as I like mine

  • nice video neo. i am thinking about getting compact 40 cal and your review of the p229 was just want i needed to hear.

fyi, if that scratch really bothers you, you should consider a wrap-around hogue grip (which would hide that particular scratch). i have one on my beretta m9 and it feels great

  • @mjr168801 Hey thanks mjr. Yeah the scratch sucks but it doesnt bother me too bad.. I think I'll just have to order one of them Hogue grips for it, I bet it makes it look even cooler too, thanks for the advise.

  • dang that even looks heavey

  • @tmntrphl it is, extremely heavy

  • @neo19209 GOT THAT RIGHT THEY COME WITH SOME WEIGHT VERY SMOOTH GUN

  • cop gun!

  • @KANSR209 it was 20 years ago , now the cop gun is the Glock 22

  • @MrPrivatetv1 not in stockton i remeber asking a cop like a month ago

  • "spoil yourself you only live once." I like what you said and went ahead and bought a 229 in .40 It also came with the .357 barrel!

  • @GregandNancyW Hey thanks and congratulations.. Came with the .357 barrel?? WOW thats nice.. grats again and hope you enjoy it as much as I enjoy mine

  • Sig is Swiss, sauer is German.

  • @LordBaronPZDA I thought they were onbe company? I dont get it can you explain more please

  • Drop the cash for the .357 Sig barrel also upgrade to houge grips and a beefy reciol spring. This is the best tactical pistol made. Give it a few more things and it rocks.

.40 S&W is good for target practice its cheep and easy to find. Run .357 Sig for actuall tactical or self defense loads. Sig was trying to cram a .357 magnum load into a pistol when they made the .357 Sig.

  • @DobermansRock nice, thanks for the adivise, i might just do that and try it out.

  • The United States Secret Service carries the SIG-Sauer P229 chambered in .357 SIG.

  • @SecretService80 nice, i didnt know that.. why in 357sig?

  • @neo19209 Not sure, I believe it's for enough stopping power to take someone down, but keep in mind, if there is a threat, they may have to shoot into a crowd to neutralize it, so they can't be packin' Desert Eagles.

  • @SecretService80 Not desert eagle, I was thinking more of smith and wesson 500s lol.. I woulda thought that to protect the prez they would have 40s or maybe 45s

  • @neo19209 Good point, The Secret Service used to carry the Smith & Wesson Model 66-2, and changed to the SIG P228 in the late 80's and early 90's, the USSS does more than protect VIP's, though, they are a law enforcement agency, so they carry the same as what you'd expect to see on your local police force...minus the P90's...

  • @SecretService80 but they get to wear cool suits and earpeices.

  • @neo19209 This is true...

  • @neo19209 Fast velocity, great penetration, and the shape of the cartridge makes feeding problem almost non-existent.

  • that gun is ugly o_0 btw i hope whoever is about to break into your house watches this vid, so they can rethink their life before they lose it lol.

  • Nice gun and video!

  • I own the P229 Elite Stainless with wood grips. I love everything about it !

  • i like sigs but what gives with only coming with one magazine?thats like a slap in the face to the customer.never understood that.a 1,000 dollar gun with only one mag...cmon sig what are you thinking?

  • @GunNut12680 I hear you, and theyre not cheap mags either lol. My five seven came with 3...20 round mags.

  • @neo19209 yeah and the fiveseven is the same price.lol.who knows..lol

  • @GunNut12680 exactly right. Just between us 2.. I like the five seven even more than the sig.

  • you only live once .. ! nice..

  • I'm not going to nock the review but this review is a a little lacking on knowledge it seems.

I mean, "It's got the little rails that run all the way to the front" "Its go the weaved in..oh no...swirled in spring", and FYI, if you ever turn the gun over some day you will see that the slide has a made in USA stamp on it. The frame is made is Germany.

I dont really see any "review" here at all, more of random talking about a gun you dont seem to know a lot about. Just saying

  • @SunsetWingman damn man its like a million sig videos on here..youre flaming this dude on his own vid.who said he had to be perfect?just find one thats to your liking.you say your not knocking the review but thats exactly what youre doing.

  • @bennyboi2k8 not necessarily. A lot of people use hollow points for target pratctice because they make a bigger hole and it's easier to see if you get a hit

  • @ledzepplin408 hollow points dont make a bigger hole in paper targets.

  • @Ronald3570 I don't shoot paper targets.

  • @ledzepplin408 what do you shoot then?

  • hollow point bullets you mean business

  • nice gun review! bad ass weapon

  • a very good weapon! I have the same one and I love it!

  • oh yeah by the way there is a quick trigger release you can buy. but u are gonna have to find a good gunsmith to put it in. i have shot the midsize sig chambered in 357sig b4& after my buddie put the quick trigger in & i swear after you shoot it you will be like "why the hell didnt sig do this to begin with?"but even without it thats a great gun you got there, i think he only paid like 100 bucks for the parts but he had a friend install it for him

  • do you like the p229 in 40 rather then 9mm? & how does the promag work? i heard those have had problems with SIGS.

  • bayonette!?!?! I think you would laugh your assailant away from seeing a bayonette on a pistol.

  • I love the Sig is a very reliable and dependable pistol. Smooth trigger and great balance pistol. I rather pay extra for a gun that I can rely my life on . Rather pay for something that has a great track record and even the Military use it. The SEALS and FBI. I own one also I have the two tone P229 in .40 S&W. Great Pistol. LOVE IT.

  • @stevektek9 yes its a fantastic pistol. One of my favorite.

  • @stevektek9 Yes, I have the same, also in caliber .40, a very good weapon!

The polices departements in Switzerland changend from P226 to P229, but in 9mm.

    I also own the P220 in 9mm = worse.

  • I love the Sig P229 in .40 S&W. I own one and have shot over 2000 rounds threw it with no malfuction. This is my Conceal Carry everyday Pistol. I would Trust my Life with this Gun. Love it I recommend it to everyone thats thinking about owning a reliable and dependable pistol. Two thumbs up.

  • if you can hit! I have seen Cop Empty All of a MAG and not hit what they wanted.

  • @dbi1036 for sure.. thats why we all need to be proficient, I practice alot

  • @neo19209 True

  • @dbi1036 its alot harder to be accurate than you think when you're under stress.

  • you can convert it to a .357 right?

  • @halo6941 yeah you can, all you need to do is change out the barrel, you can even use your .40 cal mags since its engraved on the side of the factory mag ".40/357"

  • wats the biggest sig sauer

  • @83slink I would think the P226

  • how do you take apart the sig sauer p229 i need to clean mine and i lost my instruction manual thanks if you could help

  • You might know this already, but that gun was actually made in the U.S.A more than likely. The frame is made in Germany, then shipped over to SIG's manufacturing factory in New Hampshire and it's built here in combination with an American made slide.

That's a nice gun though. I've been considering the larger P226 as my first handgun for quite some time. I'm still debating over it though, there are a few other possible choices.

  • im looking into saving up for the equinox in .40 s&w

i just love the looks it has, and the fiber optic front with night sight rear is awesome. the guy at the gun shop took me in the back and showed me how much the sig brand night sights glow and its considerably more than trigicon IMO... but damn, 1200 bucks isnt cheap, i would really have to save up and not buy anything for a while.

  • @Ronald3570 lol oh yeah a Sig sure will burn a hole through your pocket, but I tell you what its expensive for a reason. Its a hell of a pistol. Its a bit heavy compared to a Glock that also helps with the such little recoil you feel.

  • @neo19209 ya i've decided to do it. ill see how much it will cost to put it on layaway at the gunstore. i need a .40 and a gun with night sights so this will knock two things off my list lol.

  • @Ronald3570 lol. right on, your gonna love it. I wouldnt trade mine for the world.. well maybe a FN five-seven with night sights i will lol

  • @neo19209 haha thats another one i want. but the rarity of 5.7 ammo turned me off of it.

  • @Ronald3570 when i bought mine i stocked the hell up on ammo, i got enough to supply the U.N. lol If you wanna talk about a good pistol, THATS a must own, great for everyone, women, older people with bone problems.. recoil of a .22 with the power of a beast lol

  • SWEDISH!

  • i am going to get one too.

  • @YeuLaKho good choice, its a great buy

  • What was the original chambering of the P229 when it first came out with the Milled slide?

  • @adrianrubi I had no idea but I googled it and found out it was the 40 S&W. Thanks for the info lol

  • @neo19209 .....lol...your welcome and congratulations for choosing it in the original form.

  • i thought sig was SWEDISH??????

  • @3rotorFD Swiss

  • @oztots yep swiss/german

  • Dont ever drop the slide with an empty mag & never use the slide drop lever without pulling the slide back first. it causes wear on the hold .

  • @ithica1974 What???? Ahhhhhh no it is not a 1975 Smith MDL 59 man it is a SIG.

  • Love my 229!!

  • i have the same gun, and a glock 23. there's a big difference between the two. the sig has a smoother recoil.

  • Yes sir me too I also have the G23, and G26. This is the only Sig I own cuz theyre so darn expenive. wish I had more.

  • do you get a lot of rattle from the the slide?

  • had to double check.. theres just a tiny bit rattle when i shake it really hard from the back.

  • @neo19209 thats just the free floating barrle . if dont hear it you need to clean it

  • Thinking about getting the exact same gun! I was in the store the other day and was comparing it with the HK USP compact and another shopper basically said : "just get the SIG, you won't regret it."

  • He gave you good advise.. I would have probably said the same thing

  • see and i thought you couldnt handle anything bigger then a five seven lol

  • @TexasDistortion you obviously havent seen my S&W 500 video

  • haha you know im breakin you balls man. i love the vids. I do wanna see more shotgun vids.

  • @TexasDistortion yeah I know man... shotgun vids alright.. ill make some more

  • The 2022, 2340,2009 series sig pistols are FANTASTIC low priced Sig sauers. They shoot right with any of the more expensive sig pistols. They are a little blockie in size for concealment but as an all around service pistol they are GREAT!! pistols. The polymer frames are indstructable and yes better than the glock frame. Thats saying alot. (my opinion lol)

  • @littlejpl everyones opinion counts. Glad to see more Sig lovers

  • my uncle has one of these and loves it, however, I am still going to get myself, a 1911A1. I am oldschool.

  • theres nothing wrong with being old school if your getting a 1911

  • wow beutifull gun :D

  • @ImHated1986 yeah, it was my favorite till i got the FN fiveseven

  • nice gun dude.

  • thanks man, It WAS my favorite but I like my FN five seven even more now

  • uhm yea guys i say nice toy as in a way of like adults dont play with barbie dolls or action figure a toy as in a hobby or a tool you use for a hobby thus a gun , anyways nice toy man i just got a sig pro 2022 , sigs are great!

    - concealed wepons permit owner.

  • Hey how is that 2022? I almost bought one at my local academy.. very nice price for being a sig.. i wasnt too sure about that polymer bottom since i already have a glock, not a HUGE fan of glock..well compared to Sig.

  • its one of the best pistols i own, i hav a 1911 45. sig 229 and ofcourse the sig pro2022 and a berreta 45., and i think the 2022 pro is number 2 riht under the 229 just bcuz the 229 is more concilable seince i have a concealed weopons permit but to me the 2022 shoots better.

  • for concealment, my #1 (besides the tomcat 3032) is the beretta 9000s, but my favorite when it comes to shooting, comfort, accuracy is the Sig 229, but ill have to look into that 2022, thanks bro

  • Totally agree with you I got the 229 9 mm and it really is a treat! Definitely if your on the fence about it just do it you won't regret.... Got Sig?

  • Right? im glad you like your Sig, they sure are some fun, they look great too. thanks for watching

  • Great TOY? Did you say it's a great TOY?

    You seriously need professional training.

  • If your gonna leave stupid comments like that just keep your mouth shut

  • Best gun ever made!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • in my opinion i think so too

  • Very nice.

  • thank you

  • Beautiful.

    Made by smith& wesson?

  • Thank you.

No, its made by Sig Sauer

  • can you make the shots expand at six rounds?

  • you still have girl hands neo

  • lol, im a man where it counts greatwhitehunter.

  • Ive owned a Smith & Wesson Sigma, Ruger P94, Ruger SP101, Glock 19, and a Springfield XD in .40S&W. The Smith and Wesson Sigma trigger was cheep feeling. All my Rugers felt & shot real well but there sights would like to get caught up in the holster. The Springfield XD was awesome over all. I cant weight to try the Sig Sauer P229 Im just stuck between if I should go with the 9mm or .40s&w?

  • well a convenient choice and more economical is picking the caliber you have most of to share the ammo, the reason i picked the 40 was because i didnt have one yet plus i wanted that little extra power. good luck on your choice.

  • @neo19209

Just want to say that I'm waiting for mine. Got a couple of days more to wait. Glad to hear your comments, made me think that I've made a good choice. I like your term, "A ROCK" Thanks

  • I dont think I would be able to handle a waiting period, lol. You definately made a good choice, its a great pistol. 9mm or 40?

  • I don't like the Sig, but I own it, I love the Glock that's why I also own it, I have the Kimber 1911, but i don't disown it. Glock was my first pistol, sold it, bought all other guns, but shit, I went back to Glock and love it, and will never let go.I thought the Sig was the answer, but yes, to my collection, but not really loving it, I own the Sig and other guns, so when I hit the range, I could always compare it with my Glock.

  • well you must either have a different sig or different glock than i do lol, thanks for watching and commenting.

  • I have a Sig229R 9mm, Glock 22C, probably it's because I handle more the Glock, but more power to you, keep it up.

  • nah dont get me wrong i love my glock.. but we all have our preferences

  • I agree...

  • very nice bro! i have the SP2022 in .40, which is Sig Sauer's polymer gun. Im thinking to save up for either a P220 or the P229.

  • yeah i know the 2022 its sig's version of the glock/sigma, very nice one, the 220? isnt that the 45 cal? they dont make a 45 229. but if you get it youll LOVE it. accurate and dependable like no other, my glock has jammed twice while my sig is still flawless. thanks for watching

  • beautiful gun

  • its it, its my favorite pistol other than the S&W500

  • Nice review.

  • thank you

  • Great Weapon, I used a P229 on patrol as a Police Officer. It shoots great with little recoil. The gun is very accurate! The only problem is, it will rust on you quick. I worked a vehicle accident one night out in the rain and I got spots on it by the end of the night. I now use a Glock 22.
