Its funny that even very good pianists have trouble getting this etude to sound even. At very slow speeds it is trivial, but presto it becomes very difficult and you can hear that both Koblar and Lisitsa are having trouble with this. Strangely, I think that the performance by Aimi Kobayashi also on youtube sounds more even, which really brings out a flowing melody, instead of something that sounds choppy.
It will take some time, but practising it with metronome from slow to fast will make the progress faster. Also it teaches you to keep your tempo and make it more even. Good luck!
Try using rhythm drills. Play the RH alone, using an alternate rhythm than is written. Example: Short, long short...and then long short long. then try to play it evenly and it should be easier!
I think she interpreted the piece well, but however, her 4 and 5 fingers playing f# and G sometimes is not clear, And some dynamics are just too dramatic, this etude requires a flow of linear and pressureless dynamics.
Gosh, I love Chopin's etudes. This is one of my favorites. I loved it so much that I taught myself to play this when I was in middle school and played it in addition to a Chopin waltz and impromptu (as a kind of Chopin montage) for a recital that year. I really like Koblar's interpretation. Perhaps not as much as I like Claudio Arrau, but I'm very particular about my Chopin! Thanks for this upload!
I played this 4years ago when I was 15. Nowhere as aware or musical as your interpretation, makes me want to play it again putting more care in achieving that cristaline sound and the pedal. I loved it!
he or she might be a prodigy your right, but a 13 year old, cannot have this musicality, know what i mean? not been harsh just annoying when amateurs criticise the pros.
excellent vid-great to see young people devote their efforts to classical music.I played this particular etude for my diploma years ago,so trust me when I say the difficulty is not in the techique, imho,u get there with practice. The problems begin when u have to un-learn all of it&let it flow:intonation,accentuation,pedalling-a very rewarding ride though, so congrats to the young lady&to all who are attempting it. keep up the good work!! Thanks again for the vid, it brought back good memories :))
Beautiful piece. I respect her work. One of my favourite rendition is played by Nuccio Trotta. I'd like to invite watching his performances because I think he's a very good unkown pianist. Thank you.
I have also a Bach prelude & fugue, and a bethoven sonata in a major. last year I played Rachmaninov's prelude in G minor aswell. but my major concearn for this year is that I'll have to play Ravel's sonatine (he has only 1). btw how old are you? Im 15 :(
Wow. She's sooo good, and she's just sitting there, straight, playing it like it's nothing, while I remember I was striving to get my hands to keep going and playing every note. lol. After seeing this, I really want to dig it out and play it again. She's just really good.
each three note, you flow it like water, and then you stop, and you continu, each 3 NOTES, all the piece, but you should be extremly light, and if you practice it like that some days, you will see then that you can play it extremly rapidly like you want.
I'm working on this etude now. I do each bar over and over again, one by one, then work*** out the phases together. The way she plays it makes my practice seem pointless! lol

very clean, but this praticular etude is in three the rigth hand against the three in the left. Is a big mistake to play in six. Of course is easy in the way that you play.
Hmm. I wish I had the time to learn to play as well as you do, but I already practice as much as I have time to. And, frankly, I don't think that God has performance piano in his plan for me. Writing music, I hope. But then again, I don't know.
Haha... i want to give up and play it later on >_> its too hard, it really is... i had to learn the Ending Theme - Final Fantasy X too... I managed to learn it all but I think i'm going to organise another lesson and just say i couldn't do the etude v_v

Well now i play it safely by heart, in thiw speed and maby a little bit more, but i face problems
1) in balance ( i mean because of speed i lose in some meters the tone of the correct note),
2) in my effort not to sound hard in forte with pedal.
