aww, i remember when my yorkie was 15 months! he was smooth as a jelly bean, now hes 4, turning 5 in january! bu hes still quite short-furred, so we have to put a jacket on him in the rain, so cute!
No he doesn't, he really used the puppy pads mostly. he did chew a tiny bit but we just made sure he had loads of chewy toys and it soon stopped. he's now just turned 3 years...a really sweet dog with a huge personality in a tiny body!
Make sure you buy from a reputable breeder. See both parents, ask lots of questions. Keep an eye on the puppies teeth as Yorkies being so tiny can have dental probs! Wallace had 4 teeth out when he was younger! For an easy life keep the coat clippered fairly short, groom regularly. Our guy only likes a half hr daily walk, that's enough for him, he tires easily. Good luck with your puppy! :)
Never leave a puppy alone. They eat carpet, wires, which cause bad burns or fires. They chew on the furniture and eat the wood.
Invest in a large pen with room for water and dry food, block some of it off for potty paper. They will be safe and you won't worry. They are just like a real toddler.
The Terrier dogs tend to have quit a bit of skin problems. I am an owner of a Carrin Terrier, and she is s great dog and very loving, but she has pretty bad skin irritations. And the vet bill is about $180.00 each visit just for some skin medication.
We bought Wallace from a reputable breeder in Scotland, he was reared in a family home. He's a real wee character and he's very good company. He does bark a little bit, I don't mind, he lets me know if there's a fly in the garden, or a bird, or if the postman arrives!
He does like the odd prawn cracker, chow mein, crisp, cornflake. Basically if it falls to the floor Wallaces mouth is there to catch it before it actually hits the floor!
Hi, I haven't heard that. Wallace is now 18 months and he's had no skin problems at all. We do keep his coat clipped fairly short, maybe that's got something to do with it. Maybe if you leave the yorkie's coat to get long, they develop skin problems......
Hi. I've had my yorkie for awhile. I bought him from a home breeder. Usually, if you buy your yorkie from a puppy mill or people that call them "teacups" they'll tend to have issues becasue they aren't bred healthily, as the breeder tries to produce them as small as possible.
You're better off buying from a family. Just thought I'd throw that out there, hope it helped a bit :)
i have been thinking of buying either yorkie or maltese for a while but can't decide. im still a student and it will be difficult to give full attention to e puppy. how long do u think i can leave the puppy alone at home without anyone to take care of per day?
While I'm at school, he stays alone from 6:00 am to 3:00pm. I know it sounds a bit harsh, but he keeps himself perfectly occupied. And, not to be rude to my dog, dogs have absolutely no sense of time.
I assure you, your little one will be fine if you leave her alone. But the first week or so, have somebody come up to check on her while you're at school ;)
i tend to be back around 7pm to 8pm. and i leave home at 7 am. thats like 12 hours alone for the puppy. My parents dislike dogs so i'll have to cage it while im away and im worried that it will get emotionally tired...
That's cos most of him was hair! After he had his first haircut at the groomers, he was like a skinned rabbit...... and he's now mostly grey, and he's now 15 months old, but I still love to watch this clip of him when he was wee!!
I have to agree with you glamorluvuh! Yorkiea are so cute...... especially Wallace! He's bigger now than he was in this vides and he's still really cute, a small dog with a huge character!
my puppy used to look exactly like that except one of his ears were up and one was down but now theyre both up but yorkies are so cute as puppies!!!!!!!!
aww sooo cute! mines does tha same thing! does urs run around in circles? or is that just mines? what about sleeping on his back? i call mines crazy daisy! lol
I love your Wallace! He's adorable and looks well fed! hahahaha

Does your dog pee on furniture? I have a yorkie and he does it all the time! Do you know how to prevent that from happening?
