How do you get the pieces to attach so easily with just slip? I have to score my pieces to prepare them for handles/knobs or use paper slip. Is it all about the consistency of the clay?
As I throw on bats the bit that's being attached at the bottom, generally stays quite wet and always sticks well without the need to score.
You only need to score if the things you are sticking on are a bit too dry.
I always like to stick things together that are as moist as possible and of even softness so that the clay shrinks at an even rate when they dry out,and dry them our really slowly under polythene for up to 2 weeks in some cases, and that always seems to do the trick.
How could to people hate this?????
