I love the Metal Gear Solid series. I love MGS2 Substance and MGS3 Subsistance. I had both versions ages ago and have got rid of them and now i'm kicking myself!! They are the definitive versions of each game, especially MGS3 S, it has the original MG1 and 2 games on the MSX, pretty great if you ask me. Legendary series!!!

I think what's most awesome about this game is that it grabbed the attention of my aunt. She's a big sci-fi fan, but a huge critic of things. But she especially liked the fight against The Fear... which was probably the most annoying fight in any video game I ever played. xD

Personally, I think Metal Gear Solid 3 is the best game of all time.

*Great Character: Ocelot is too cool.

*Great Bosses: The End, the Fury, and the 4 minute ladder!

And on top of that, some of the most suspenseful game time I've ever had :D

I think it was a nice challenge. I mean you catch rats with your knife for food? And that food SPOILS if you don't play the literal game CD?

Haha, I used to abuse that, and throw it all on the floor when I was fighting the Fear. Drain his stamina, then he eats it, and drops further. Easy way for the Spider Camo lol.

Yup, save the game, change the internal clock on the PS2, so that all your food rots, then reload.

Once you've done that, equip all your rotten food, and throw it onto the level, then use the tranquilliser guns and thermal goggles to reduce him to half stamina. His camo drops off, then he goes to eat food, running straight for the bad stuff, lol.

Although its your opinion, I personally think MGS4 was better....mostly because it is probably the ultimate embodiment of all the MG games, specifically the MGS ones...it drew different elements such as the BB being based on bosses from the first game, and saw the return of many characters from MGS2 and 3...and several MG characters which if I named you probably wouldn't even know :P

That's why MGS4 is one of the best games ever imo....plus the final fight was more memorable than in MGS3....

That is a good point. My opinion of MGS4 is based on about 8 hours of playtime. I know of several of the plot twists, seen as I have those annoying friends who ruin stuff for you :P (Pretty much, enough to understand what Ocelot is doing, who the patriots are, and a couple of extras who reappear ;) ) Still, I think mechanically I prefer MGS3, but I can understand that the story is the culmination of like, 20 years of gaming? It is cool, I admit, but there's something about eating tree frogs :P

Oh I agree I found MGS3 probably to be cooler and a lot better designed in story and whatnot. But ya I basically think MGS4 as basically a combination of all the other games is the best of the MGS and MG series. That's my opinion and you got yours :P. Who was your favorite boss in MGS3? Mine was THE FURY...probably the hardest boss for me in all my play time...

There's some awesome bosses in MGS3. I've been hammering it again recently, and I've got my time in duel mode for the Ocelot Unit down to nearly 1:30, with no kills or alerts :P Yup, I've played too much. After that, I think that the End, and the bike chase at the end of the game are the best parts in it. Sniper duels are always cool, and that's the best, and that bike chase sequence is just ace :D
