great song love the orchestrations...and yes he wrote it for john....john used to slag paul off and it bothered me..paul took the high road and never sad hurtful things about john...john could be terribly insensitive but he was masking his insecurities with yoko ono throwing gasoline on the fire
i remember most of the RAM and Red Rose songs were too sad to listen to...thanks for posting, these are gems of emotion, life and love, no matter who does or does not listen these days.....thanks MattK
I just discovered this september that song. or maybe i was it when i listened to it with a friend, in his car at our 20s, 25 yrs ago, going skiing. Anyway, a great song.
I have not heard Ram or Red Rose Speedway for many years. I saw Wings perform at The Horden Pavillion, Sydney Australia in the early 70s, not sure of the date, but I remember being in the same room as a Beatle, I was in gobsmacked!
I agree, when I was a kid the songs that were coming out of Lennon and McCartney seemed to override credibility, yet there it is....beautiful songs the world will sing for centuries
It's almost suspicious just how many lovely songs this man writes. If it weren't for the recorded evidence, in 500 yrs time people might doubt it the work of one man in much the same way as we do now with Shakespeare.
I find this one quite unusual with a relatively long melodic line that just keeps going.....almost operatic. A charming and special song. Its been a good day to hear it.
tender moment when me and my ex used to fight maybe i should have played this

Which superb melody. He makes tired us to Paulo, to load us towards the ways of nostalgia.

The acoustic guitar intro takes me back to the 1970s in a heartbeat. A wonderful song by Wings.
