  • @TheLegijaStranaca He says: they have twelve minutes to run a distance, but they don't know exactly how much is that...

But, in fact, this test is different nowadays.

the most part of the guys fails in the psycho tests or in the Gestapo (where they avail your "curriculum") - back in my time only two japanese guys fail out of 70 engagés...

  • @gtsilvarafa1 Gestapo? What do they mean by that?

  • @RobertBeowulf interviews and research

  • @TheLegijaStranaca They have to run an unknow distance during 12 minutes.

  • this is for little childs.funny army.

  • 4:43 This guy wasn't was running correctly

  • kd a Legenda porra !

  • @michellgranadeiro123 Tem que aprender francês mlk

  • vive la France !!!

    ^^

  • @TheLegijaStranaca It's called "The Cooper"-test. How far can U run in 12 minutes. In my time in the Legion (1990) U had to run 3000 m or more to get through the test. I had run this test several times in Finland. Elementary school, higher elementary and in high school. Every year. That makes it about 12 Coopers before the army. In the army U run this test 3 times. I thought that "Cooper" was universally known?.

  • @TheLegijaStranaca He says "Run for 12min but he don't know the distance at completed "

Sorry for traduction ... I'm French ! lol

  • @TheLegijaStranaca They don't know the distance to be crossed !

  • @TheLegijaStranaca "they have 12 minutes to run a minimal distance but they don't know it" sorry ^^

  • @corseboy 2700 meters i think

  • if somebody want to join in the near future pls send me a letter because i m leaving england on march 2012

  • @gerafreeman are you still going to Aubagne 2012?

  • @gerafreeman Hey mate, i've told it to a few other people: If you want a good chance to get accepted I suggest you leave somewhere around now; the chance to get accepted is higher because there are less recruits showing up during the holidays. So if you got a shitty stamina or something else that might give you problems getting accepted you should try it one of these days. But then again, if you're in good shape etc. you should just leave in march.

  • @Keezzel That's bullshit for a start

  • @gerafreeman I'm leaving from the states in March and Keezzel is going for his second chance around then. He's in the comment strings. Send me a friend request maybe we can meet in Paris. Semper Fi

  • @TheLegijaStranaca

It says they have 12minutes to cover a minimum distance whose length is not known to them. In another Ytube docu, 2.7kms was mentionned.

  • @borninparis 2700 meters

  • Actually , it 's not necessary to change our real name !!

  • 8000 applicants per years, they take 1 out of every 8th candidates after preliminary tests and selection...

  • @gdsmshroff

Your going to join?....Ill be seeing you next year then mate ;)

  • @pmccallig18 hey bro im from quebec canada im comming in about one mouth

  • do anyone might translate that series to at least english? Albo na polski najlepiej ;)

  • Why? If you want to join, you will have to learn French anyhow.

  • Bereš kokain hašiš :-D

  • ill be there in 40days

  • Good luck mesa134!

    From where are you from?

Thanks to want to serve and protect my country!

  • ive heard that some dude got raped in the legion by a superior....

  • That sort of shit will happen anywhere in any army, just another shameful thing. Luckily, the french foreign legion is generally smoother then other armed forces, like the USMC, who really break you down mentally by humiliating you on a 24/7 basis.

  • Breaking you down is meant to find out how you will really behave when the time comes, there isn't any other way. Now it doesn't have to be humiliation. The french way is very different from the american way but it definitly works. A friend's uncle was a legionaire, the guy was different, like unbreakable.

  • i want to join but i cant understand a word of french ? what do i do ?

  • you go on playing call of duty...

  • funny guy

  • @Pewi6666 they teach you

  • thats not problem most of legionares didnt knew french u learn it during traning

    :)

  • at 4:05 during the medicals, is that legion issue underpant..classic

  • they teach you basics, and join you togather with someone who is proficient in french then it's up to you to learn...and learn fast you will,or you're fucked...they have special methods to make you learn fast ;)

  • if you are accepted , you will join for a minimum of 5 years

    then, french nationality, work permit...

people join for the salary, other for sport, adventure, quitting from a past life , passport...

be aware, you will be part of french army for 5 years,

possibly sent to combat operation zones

its not disneyland, it s tough, its army

but in the end, some persons from all over the world can work together to do the job with efficiency and top team spirit

  • Not entirely true. They'll let you leave legally within the first 6 months, though they'll make it very hard for you to leave within the first 4 months at castel.. usually they don't make trouble once your basic training is finished though.

It's to do with having to deal with a lot of bullshit at castelnaudary, and it might suck especially for people with previous military experience as like the name implies.. it is "basic". The more interesting shit comes once assigned to your combat regiment.

  • here are some infos ... :-)

  • you will get a new identity , so a new name,

age acceptance: between 18 & 40 years old

the training both physical and mental is more than hard

the training is hard cause the french foreign legion is sent on the front line of any conflict where the french government decide to sent troops

    french legion is sent first

like would do the "marines" for the US

  • a lot of persons from europe , eastern countries (russia, poland, serbia, ukraine etc..) also south american (argentinian, brazilian ..) but also a few asiatic (south korea, china ..) and around 25 % french but who will get new nationality to join

you do not need to speak french,

you will be taught the language

  • this part of french army has existed for around 180 years.

approximately 8000 persons try it every year

    around 1000 will be accepted

you will be paid 1000 euros every month

2500 euros every month when in combat zone operation

people from around 130 different nations try it

you will get a new identity when joining

    your past will be checked

important crime like rape, assassination or deviant people wont be accepted

  • way i look at it who is going to remeber you in 100 years time ? mo1 realy it dont matter if you are rich or poor do something that you will enjoy and if its the legion good on you . if its drrugs then ..... well thats a pretty shit life

  • i'm getting bored of everything, maybe i should consider join the legion. or just go to a psychiatrist..

  • Theres nothing wrong with your mind if you're bored. You're going to die some day, go to the legion 'to fuck' do it, if you don't like it, ah well, at least you didn't buy in to the rest of the meanless shit in life. You are nothing but a customer, go and be a legend!...... lol.

  • I was told to go straight to Aubagne not to Fort de Nogent, I contacted my cousin in Paris he said it's about 80 euros in a taxi from CDG airport to Aubagne in the south.

  • yep go to aubagne straight away. take the train. when we finished castel and went back to aubagne for 2 days it was empty there. i joined in june, full of people

  • PROTIP: For anyone ho wants to join the Legion. Join your own nations armed forces. The Legion is only for guys who cant get in anywhere else. Theres no other reason to put yourself through all the bullshit.

  • actually u can get french citzenship when u have served 3 out of 5 years but only if u want it.

  • Good call!

  • Dude i was in our national army and it wasn't it what i was searching for, Legion is simply more demanding , when i will be ready i will try get in there :)

  • Well in your case then good luck. You'd have a better understanding as to what you're in for. Go for it mate.

  • come in serbia and work for serbian army-300 euros salary

  • ha ha i will consider

  • i'd like nothing more than to join the Foreign Legion. I hear they teach you french there but if they're asking me questions in French I'd have to give em the deer in the headlights look.

  • Can you join with dental plate.

  • Why not join your army ive tried but have 2 dependants so cant.i cant join mine as i have extensive ninor criminal record. They say i can join when im 43 years old probably. That would make my platoon comander about 21 years younger than myself. Our army only follows and loads trucks for the US.If you want adventure id go US if you can.

  • roger that bro, being US born,im actually putting the US.forces ahead of the Legion..

  • go to Aubagne is more easy for you.....

  • Anyone know where I can get this video subtitled in English.

  • you must know french language?

  • You'll get to learn french during basic training, but with everything you have to learn in army life in short time, my best bet would be to learn it before you join.

  • yeah well it's tough to be french... my god can't believe i said that

Algum Legionário sabe me responder???

  • Je regarde vite le 2/5!

  • we want subtitles! please!

  • Anyone can join the légion, and they give you a french passeport after5 years of services.

  • did the young guy make it?

  • we want subtitles!

  • Hey, ItalianGajin, are you aware there appears to be a different version of this documentary floating around? I've seen the video before, and what you uploaded has some parts I can't remember. Also, there's a scene or two I distinctly remember which don't appear in your video.

  • This is 2Rei ?

  • no it's not, this video just shows the pre-selections held in Aubagne that all the volunteers have to do
