They have enough money to order hundreds of new buses and subway cars, why don't they have enough money to run on time, and oh, keep their shit CLEAN?! You don't see urine, garbage, and rats in the London Underground or Tokyo Metro do you?
Look at Tokyo, one of, if not, the world's most populated city. In rush hour, the subway has workers in the stations to actually cram people into the trainsyes, it's THAT crowded, and despite the trains being filled twice or even three times their capacity, they always run right on schedule, which is accurate to the second. Here, they barely get as crowded as Tokyo, maybe when there's a Yankee game or a so-called "police investigation", but nevertheless, the trains are never on schedule.
True. The bus and subway are NEVER on schedule, so timetables really just give a general hint as to when one will arrive. If you're running on a tight schedule, you can's count on the MTA to be on time...
