  • Where is Lesson 2? I love Norway and I prefer to get any information about it from a native than from anywhere else. So I liked this video a lot, it was very interesting! :))

Pleeeeas go on making such videos!

    Vennlig hilsen fra Ungarn :)

  • Norwegian girls are hot!!

  • The british accent is so absolutely stupid when your norwegian because its just so forced. Why would you want to sound british anyways? it honestly doesnt make you sound smarter or better, but then again neither does an american one. Just dont force it, because honestly it just makes you look so fake and stuck up. the normal norwegian accent and regular english we has is just so much better

  • pretty.

  • Haldeeeeeeeeeeeeen!

  • I'm from England and you sound 95% english

  • Heres how you become Norwegian: Be born there or acquire appropriate paperwork. Nobody there gives 2 shits about integration there anyways so that goes out the window.

  • "nobody" is inaccurate, so dont clump every immigrant together. but im pretty sure i know the people your talking about when it comes to not integrating :-) but why dont you just say it instead of putting every person who comes to norway in a group with "those people"?

  • @polix What are you talking about? I think you've completely misunderstood my comment.

  • I can't believe how pretty Norwegian girls are....

  • why didnt u mention that the dress is called bunad? x.x

  • one does not simply become a norwegian... -___-

  • je snakker jo faktisk til meg sjøl ganske mye.....90 prosent på engelsk...bedrre engelsk karakter enn norsk karakter...litt rart.....

  • herregud ass... dere må være født i norge og like baot-is for å være norske. herregud.

Oh my god... u have 2 b born i norway to b norwegian and u have to liek baot-is.

    Oh my god.

  • @sailatlas Virkelig? baot-is?

Daa!!

  • hun er veldig flink til å snakke engelsk men ikke kall den britisk. den høres mer australsk enn britisk. there's no 'british' accent anyway. we have hundreds of accents.

  • lol, sa pa fQrste 10sec av clippet and I must say girl.. get a life.. btw DUPERjstn not that I rly care but u can hear her norwegian accent so badly so plz don favourize her that much makes u look like a fuckin whimp -_-

  • Did you know that more Norwegians live in America then in Norway itself?? yeah its true and YES I was born and raised in Minnesota... So I know all about Scandinavian culture.

  • @HerbalJah Hah, yes there are around 11 million Americans descended from Scandinavians :) Not Norwegians specifically i think though.

Americans sure love to breed :o

  • @Arnebananlolo yeah well I was specifically from Norwegian and Swedish decent by god! (and a little bit of dutch :P )

  • whats the name of the song at 2:07 ?

  • Nice video, we have a Norwegian day parade in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn, New York too.

  • Norwegian average breast size is d and above... Just sayin'

  • what about black metal? I bet you have to wear troll clothes and terrorise wanderers in the woods. right?

  • How to be Norwegian: Pillage, raid and drink. May 17th is just overrated

  • i liked the hair before more :)

  • omg hva skjer med britisk, snakk engelsk :)

  • @Dadutta ...Eh, britisk ER engelsk.

  • @Safiery ...NOT. British = pussy

    Americish = win

  • @Dadutta

''Americish.''

  • im half norwegian but don't speak it, trying to learn, may 17th is my birthday

  • NORWEGIAN'S have the best FOLK music on the face of this earth.............Or what you called? Black Metal? I suppose its the same shit.Other than that, you Norwegians are so dam,n beautiful that, you make me fucking sick.........HVIS LYSET TAR OSS Assholes.!

  • I love Norwegians I recently met up with a load of Norwegian teacher friends of mine. I'd love to learn the language and think their women are some of the best in the world massively independent and I got a thing for their accent

  • I'm Norwegian and you lie...I slept until the 15 minutes before the parade and I put on a suit in my closet and joined the parade.

To me May 17th is not important, but I still love my country. Norway <3

  • Britisk utklasserer Amerikansk.

  • You're awesome! =]]] And pretty! tehe

  • Must be nice living in a place that has a long history!! :D in America our history starts around the 1400's XD but our traditions just depends on the culture of the individual XD

  • wow, fantastisk bra engelsk aksent :D

  • Hi Lene,

your video is perfekt. I enjoyed it from the first to the last second. 3 times I was in Norway and this year will be the 4th. Your video is reflecting the positive way of life in Norway. People are very friendly there. And they're proud to be Norwegians. I love Norway and if I had the choose I would like to live there. Lene, are you going to make a "Lesson 2" of this video? I would be delighted to see a new video from you.

    Greetings from Kiel

    Nils

  • Det er rigtigt godt!!! You re so funny and sweet!!!!!! But I would definitely follow your advices though my goal is a bit difficult... I am greek one and lately try to be a danish but very soon I ll be a norwegian too... ;-)))))))))

  • I am norwegian and still for some odd reason I hate bunad. I don't know the "flertallsformen" of bunad.

  • marry me

  • LONG LIVE NORWAY

  • Instead exhausting your little Norwegian brain trying to speak English with a British accent, why don't you tell your brain cell to come up with something useful and interesting instead of that absolute nonsense?

  • @Vunder31 whats the matter with you? Nothing better to to then go around stalking foreign teenagers on the internet?

Why dont YOU "tell your brain cell (sic) to come to come up with something useful and interesting yada yada yada"

Just you replying to this, suggest you having some sort of minoroty complex in the face of this..lol-

  • @KINGKENNYTHEHOLY

Rather than complaining about my use of "brain cell", why don't you look up the word in a dictionary?

Here's some news for you since you're obviously too stupid to use a dictionary: it's "brain cell", not "braincell".

A dyslexic like you complaining about other people's language, major LOL!

You trying to teach others English is like Walter Anderson trying to teach tax law.

Now crawl back under your rock, moron.

  • @Vunder31 Im not dyslexic, but more likely a different career choice where grammar and spelling werent put as much weight on,that plus I only lived in the U.S part of my life the rest in various military installations around the damn world...hence I know how to spell this : GO FUCK YOURSELF candy ass! you're the one stalking little girls you creep..LOL and its the fucking youtube comment section, not a spelling bee..not exactly where you triple check your grammar like a douchebag.

  • hi..i'm nelvin sandoy..i learn norwegian only a months but i don't know how to perfectly pronounce it..hope you can help me..this is my yahoo mail and yahoo messenger.....nelvinsandoy@yahoo.com...tusen takk...

  • Hi!!!!

  • bitch

  • Only retarded norwegians are like this, though. :)

  • Thank you very much! Now I feel so lucky for being allowed to be... Norwegian!! What a lucky guy I am!

  • that was funny and sweet :)

    where is lesson 2? :D

  • Tror det du var Engelsk! Fordi du hører Engelsk!

  • You watch too much BBC and Sky, Most people in the world use the flat MidWestern Accent.

  • hey, Haldensær jo :P kjente igjen byen min seh :D

  • Norway is best but i am Norwegian so haha!Norway, Sweden and Norway have a character named æ ø å

  • Halden :)

;-) Men på 4:40 "how did your juice taste" høres veldig morsomt ut!

  • i am here for learning norwegian language but first time i see you i got mad and start thinking my self do i can learn here or what i am looking around you..and your dressing moveing up..i am sorry..but you make me smile..thanks for that..

if u don't mind i wanna say your so charming and cute ...

  • Too people learning english.. begin with american... then british.. then a little more advanced as li australian and canadian.. canada isnt that different i think...

  • terrible accent. Watch less British TV.

  • Comment removed

  • Why were they listening to that terrible music made here in the US? I hate most of my American music ughhhhhh......Cool Norwegian stuff though.

  • god, I want to kill that bitch.

  • halloen der... nice bein der...

  • Your language is like dutch just slower... :)

  • Ja, ja. tusen takk. Jeg are ikke norsk, but im more norewgian than you by listening black metal.

  • IF YOU WANT TO BE NORWEGIAN you must be very insecure, selfish, unfriendly, judgemental, lazy, arrogant, and hypocritical. If you are a norwegian woman you must be a selfish, unfriendly, evil bitch, and if you are a norwegian man you must be a weak, spineless coward. When drinking alcohol a norwegian cannot stop until he/she is extremely drunk and then she has sex with the first stranger she sees, giving norway the highest one night sexual encounter rate in the world, according to the UN.

  • @robertjohnson487 IF YOU WANT TO BE AN ATTENTION SEEKING, PARANOID AND UNCULTIVATED 11 YEAR OLD PREPUBESCENT CHILD you have to be extremely shallow minded, horribly insecure, naive, and last, but certainly most importantly, you have to be a credulous lumpish little turd. Listen, I don't know who she was, what she was called, what she did, or how much she resembled the country of Norway. But, dude... Indiana... Indiana... Let it go.

The world does not revolve around your diminished little head.

  • @robertjohnson487 fucking 'a! thats why i love this country

  • Comment removed

  • @robertjohnson487 lol Fucking A!

  • UR REALLY HOT

  • njaaaa! sko fått lurt meg ein dag eg va go i gassen

  • <3!!!

  • nice legs!!

  • Great Video BasiclyHer, but why are so many of the people commenting on this video so anti-Immigrant? Why can't we have a world where people don't complain that their homeland is being "destroyed" by those who are considered outsiders? Can't we all just live together peacefully for once?

  • ok may 17th is your indepenance day,,,,who did you seperate from i thought Norway has always been free

  • @brucekirk89 Norway was in union with Denmark for about 400 years. And was ruled by the Danish king.

The new constitution was signed the 17th May 1814. The same day as Christian Fredrik was chosen to be the next Norwegian king. He ruled the country for only a few months before he had to surrender the throne to the Swedish king, Karl Johan already the 10th October 1914. Norway was then in union with Sweden in almost 100 years until 1905.

  • @brucekirk89 its not really the independence day,its the day the "Constitution-day" Norway didnt become "free" for another 87 years or so..There is an independence day celebrated tho ..its the 8. of may or VE-day..when Norway got freed from the Germans after WW2.

  • i think it is great that some one in this contry are trying to show those who want to learn a little of our traditions and ways of living :D i have read some of the comments and some of you say that we are unfrendly and that we are complaining over everything. some places in Norway are a little unfrendly but not everywhere :D me myself are trying to be friends with everyone :D please tell me how my english writing is and think about that im 17 years old and have adhd and not so good to write ;P

  • Få deg et bedre kamera =)

  • Hvor er du ifra ?, likte videoen godt

  • Fin bunad :D

  • Hæu didd jør juuus tæist? / How did your juice taste?

Haha, veldig bra! / Haha, awesome!

    X D

  • @saremaganti. in norway we learn british like english in school, the ones u talked with where probably more than 30 years old (most of them dont speak english wery well...) but teens speak english wery well:)

  • you are very good at english

  • å herre min skaper...

  • Norge all the way!

  • Det er hardt å være norsk!

  • heyy How Old Are You?? Im Moving To norway Can We Talk or Something?

  • du er skikkerlig flink i engelsk ^^)

  • Curious why you have a British sounding accent? I talk to a LOT of people from Norway and their english doesn't sound british at all. Did you live in Britain for a while and picked it up? :)

  • @saremaganti No, I've only been to England once in my life, and that was for three days only.. x3 I just like the British accent more than the American one. People use to take up the accent they hear on TV and in films and such, but I chose to ignore that xD British is waaaay cooler :D

  • @BasiclyHer hhahaha yeah and also sounds lovely n.n

    altho my accent is...terrible ¬..¬

  • @BasiclyHer What? British accent sounds like they took the language, chewed it up and spit it back out.

A Norwegian tinged accent in english just sounds like Northern Midwestern USA...Yaaa sure, youbetcha

  • @festdir Thats really insulting u idiot, by the way, theres no such thing as a 'british accent', you seem to be talking about the 'English accent' of the 'English people', who come from England, and luckily she is speaking the first and proper English!

  • @MsOnlythebest "first and proper"

Bowel movements are 'first' released in diapers, do tell how that is 'proper'.

"Thats [sic] really insulting u idiot"

    1) When attempting to insult someone's intelligence, do try spelling properly. A dictionary will not only help with that, but will also explain the definition of both the words 'Irony' and 'Idiot'...you may want to brush up on them.

2)The English have a saying 'keep a stiff upper lip'. Sorry a joke about the sound of an accent hurt you so badly.

  • @festdir Believe me I'm not insulting your intelligence, and If you thought that, then I'm sorry :( By the way, if you didn't know the British laugh about themselves, when talking about 'keep a stiff upper lip'. But seriously you didn't have to take so much time researching the word idiot for me :S I appreciate that

  • @MsOnlythebest "Believe me I'm not insulting your intelligence"......*sigh*........."Thats really insulting u idiot"

Perhaps you should use your dictionary to also look up the word 'insulting' as well as 'irony' and 'idiot'.

    Just a thought, smarty.

  • @festdir WTF?? Stop writing complete crap on this video

  • @BasiclyHer Tusen takk your accent is awesome dosnt sound fake at all sounds just like my neibors lol, Damn i really like your traditional kjole. Jeg onsker jeg var tilbak I norge

  • @saremaganti That's correct. The majority of Norway's inhabitants prefers American to British. It's probably this 'lazyness' that goes around. Because it is a LOT easier - for a Norwegian at least - to learn the American way of speaking English. I think it has got something to do with the fact that our way of talking resembles the American way a lot more than the British way.

I apologise for the somewhat tangled explanation the latter sentence contained.

I, too, prefer British, by the way.

  • @saremaganti It's something our schools learn..atleast mine..it's either speak british and get grades or speak american and get fucked in the dirt by a zebra!...

  • @saremaganti lol we dont rly have an accent so we like pick something up, some pick up like a british accent, but me and many ppl have like an american accent

  • @saremaganti Actually many Norwegians speak pretty good english, the accents they pick up from TV..Im of dual nationalities US/Norway and moved here as a kid and was amazed as to how well some spoke..then you have the ones you probably have interacted with, speaking "gamer english" where everything is spoken fast and with sort of a nervous voice.

But to their credit they are very good at adopting various accents spoken in english. But some older people have that horrible Norwegian accent mentioned

  • hvor gammel er du?

  • Wow!! awesomeee!!!!!

I'm going to study in Norway next year~

You're vid have given me a lot of knowledge !

  • haha, " hau did jår jus teyst " :D

    KONGE!

  • to be norwegian u gotta have at least once sex with ur familly mamber!

  • @JungleBorys No, you don't :) haha

  • @JungleBorys so true! NOT!

  • @gr8jox well my norwegian mate told me so... and he was serious about it.. he is my boss!!

  • 1:25 lol

  • red white and *spank my ass* blue

  • That was veeerryyyy sweet. it´s nice too see such a young girl be so proud of her country!

    Keep on working

  • Why do you have a British accent?

  • "I'm going to mae series of short episodes where I will teach you how to be Norwegian"

Actaually you have only made one short episode, I want to be Norwegian :S

  • "Bunad" ( our national dress )

Is very annoying too walk in, because it hurts with all the gold and the bag ..

  • Happy national independence day, You ought to show us how it's gone.

refresh us, I'll be looking forward.

    Happy may 17

    A little late.

  • I love your costume!

  • Happy independance from Denmark!

We got ours on 17. June 1944!

Thos freaking Danes always conquering us...

    -Greetings from Iceland

  • I want to be a norwegian D:

  • Well done!| and congratulations on your English! When I try to speak Norwegian [very badly] they think I come from Finland [I still don't know if that's a compliment or not!].

  • I would say Norway is the most beautiful place on earth, with most boring people Norwegians are really so uninterested in others, they are not spontaneous, need beers to socialized , its shame these people will spend time with their dogs walking on roads rather go out with other people !

  • Brilliant!.....I am speechless!!

  • You're accent sounds British

I got some Norwegian Royalty in my blood

  • @aRebelYell If you are of Norwegian descent then there's a big chance for having norwegian royality in your blood. After the decimation of the norwegian population during the black death, so few norwegians remained that over time their descendants was bound to end up as relatives to the royality. Me personally am related to Eirik Bloodaxe! :D
