I live in the US, and Thanksgiving is coming up- do you guys have some good recipes for stuff like apple pies, cornbread, mashed potatoes, corn on the cob, deviled eggs, etc.? Thanks so much!

Since all Wrimos spend all of their time writing, can you make some incredibly quick comfort foods? Because eating chocolate everyday isn't that good for you...

@anddontpretend honey, I've prepared and eaten pork previously and it's not supposed to be pink when it's done - it only is when it's raw. And no need to become mean, you could have left those insults out. Don't judge others and their statements on what you think should be the definate truth. And what's so bad about being gay in the first place?
do you realize how unhealthy your whole menu of sorted food is? only potatoes, sausages, beans and all those things which , i admit are very british but also, are VERY VERY VERY VERY FAT. happy meal to you all!
@littlemissjaded12345 I usually just put it in for 5 minutes and check if the potatoe is soft and if not just continue to do so until I can get a fork through the potatoe.
no offence, but it doesn't take any skill at all to open a tin of beens and squirt bbq sauce on them. then put them on a potato. why not show people how to make a decent bbq sauce or something
@crazyjonhilton All our recipes are at different levels of time and skill. This is a quick easy recipe to make whilst you might be busy elsewhere (watching fireworks etc), but still tastes awesome.
I'll certainly add a real bbq sauce to our request list though :-)
Crackin' fire. I feel like some spuds to warm me up now :)
I'd love to see a chestnut based recipe - only because my parents have found a forest full of them nearby and we now have stacks of marrons glacé in the kitchen...
just because i use the microwave doesnt mean i havent got an oven. its just that 2 hours is a bit long for some people and i was just saying that you dont HAVE to use the oven and wait that long and you CAN use the microwave for minutes!
As I'm watching this the smell of burnt gunpowder is coming in the windows as the neighbors let off fireworks. Skyrockets where banned due to all the fires they caused, so now most packs are full of mortar fireworks firing up exploding balls high into the sky about 3 to 4 stories. In the short time around Guy Fawkes night is the only time in New Zealand you can legally buy and set off fireworks. I have seen a few people who save their fireworks for Xmas and new years even though its illegal.
That sounds like a very good idea to me. We have a microwave, and I think it would take less time to cook than in the oven. Though I'm unsure how long you wait for it to cook in the microwave.

@sortedfood yeah but then you have to make potatoes for everyone, what was once an easy quick thing to make just turned into a pain in the fucking ass.
plus im sorry man but that mess looks like someone threw up in a potatoe and sprinkled some cheese on it, absofukinglutely rank, i wouldnt eat it.
@MrDubstepaholic Also, on a cold night, if you were handed a hot potato with the smell of beans, bacon, chives and cheese coming from it, all sizzling hot. I think you would. plus, you can make it in bigger batches, and let people cut open their potato and add the topping themselves, still pretty easy.
@zephiriusjixx yeah i suppose, hey have you tried wraping a banana in tin foil and putting it in the fire for a miuite and putting chocolate buttons in it afterwards, its sooooo good, i used to do that when i went camping, you should try it :D
@EmilyMcGleenon What I would do instead is poke the holes in it, wrap it in tin foil and stick it in the microwave on full power for 6 minutes (depending on the size of the potato, this would probably be for a medium sized one). Works a treat :).
@ChocolateBar1234 I definately wouldnt recommend placing anything wrapped with foil in the microwave!
I normally prepare jacket potatoes by piercing it several times, nuke for 2.5 minutes, then place in the oven for 40-45 minutes. Comes out with a nice crunchy skin and a perfectly cooked middle.
