You see since many of them only spend 5-10 months out of every year as residents in the US (thanks to a work visa) they actually go back to their *(notice how "their" is spelled BTW) home province where they buy homes, cars and other luxuries. The USA is a country of immigrants, and many send huge amounts of money back home. here is the point: ALL INCOME EARNED IN THE USA IS TAXED. it doesnt matter if they buy a house in canada, because we already taxed the income. furthermore, a large majority of Canadians STAY in the USA and actaully live thier lives here. You are partly right, however you should know that Canadians who have their U.S. greencards, are permitted to retain their Canadian citizenship. That allows them to forgo paying certain taxes depending on where they were living on December 31. Now it's true many Canuck docs are living in the US fulltime, but then again, a lot aren't. Hey, don't get me wrong, I love Canadians, their much better then some of the other freeloaders we get here. And California has EARTHQUAKES! Y'all can keep that.
