So essentially they played to there strengths then? Germany had a well trained large well equiped army and they applied it as such america had huge industrial strenght, britain is an island. They stood and fight, but lost. The russian border army was almost as large as the german invasion force (including german allied divisions). They were however taken completely offguard because lack of the russian intelligence.
Finally the russians mustered all the men they could and built a huge defensive perimiter in Moscow which haltered the germans.

i never play any of the game from this series yet, what the battle system like ? is it just command and conquer sorta game where you just do all your thing on a map screen. Or actual move troop on a playing field map.
The battles are just on a map Longmachao. If it was on a playing field map, you would'nt have time to manage all the other things (like technology, diplomatics, spys, economy). Managing 6 fights at the same time at different places is hard enough ;)
If the game gets too complex (having to juggle 5 or 6 things at the same time) then the game is going to need a "computer assistant" to take over from the human, with firstly a button in the interface to allow you to do so.
I cannot simulteaneously order new units, replace the dead in a previous battle, order a new warship and research, say, the Typoon ground-attack aircraft, and analyse losses, even if turn-based: an intelligent assistant to prompt you would be great. Anyone?
I suggest u play HoI2. Turn-based? Hell no god help us!!! This is a realtime strategy with i guess and hope the ability to pause game and speed it up like the other two games.

The "Matilda" tank was unstoppable in the early phase of the war, no German gunnery could penetrate her armour, sadly her speed meant a soldier could walk as fast, the nazi's learnt from this, the British didn't.
Later in the war the Churchill design was excellent, bar the engine. A bit like the P52 Mustang- designed and built to British War department specs by the Americans, but delivered with a crap engine (Alison) first, Once fitted she beat the Spitfire but lost vs the Mosquito I feel.

@lindell900 No because The USSR started pushing the germans out beore the western front was opened, the western front did help, but the turning point was stalingrad where they surrounded hundreds of thousands of germans and cut thm off then started pushing through the eastern states.

@Bushenator When I said western front I meant the occupation forces of France, Belgium and others. But even so I have changed my opinion due recent reading that I don't think Germany could have won against Soviet even if they had access to all of their forces, including forces occupying other countries. However my opinion stands that Soviet would not have won without the aid of the Allies.

@lindell900 Germany would has destroyed the Soviets. They always had a better kill/death ratio in every battle, even when they lost. If all the Germans over in France were in Russia, they would have triumphed.

@TheScottyc93 Well, Russia is a much bigger country and therefore has more supplies to supply a bigger army. They also got supplies from the US and UK.
In nearly every major battle, Germany had more kills and less deaths. I believe Russia out numbered Germany 5:1... It's kinda obvious that they were going to lose.

i never play any of the game from this series yet, what the battle system like ? is it just command and conquer sorta game where you just do all your thing on a map screen. Or actual move troop on a playing field map.

The battles are just on a map Longmachao. If it was on a playing field map, you would'nt have time to manage all the other things (like technology, diplomatics, spys, economy). Managing 6 fights at the same time at different places is hard enough ;)

If the game gets too complex (having to juggle 5 or 6 things at the same time) then the game is going to need a "computer assistant" to take over from the human, with firstly a button in the interface to allow you to do so.
I cannot simulteaneously order new units, replace the dead in a previous battle, order a new warship and research, say, the Typoon ground-attack aircraft, and analyse losses, even if turn-based: an intelligent assistant to prompt you would be great. Anyone?

Imagine a world in 1943 where Eisenhower had lost patience with Montgomery early and decided to put Paton in operational command. No ficticional command, a real one, one on the day in 1944.

In greater detail; in 1941 both Monty and Rommel had broken the others codes. Monty knew where every truck and tank was, so did Rommel.
Now look at how the two commanders used that info: Rommel went for a right-hook at the 2nd El-Alamein but lost- Monty spent his time digging in. Who of the two took the initative given both had the same info?
And
Hitler had ordered that all members of the SAS and special forces should be executed but to his credit Rommel was the only German to ignore the order.

Monty was none too pleased that the men of the 7th and 8th Divisions admired Rommel so much, this was after all the enemy. Post war Monty wrote to Rommel's family to ask for certain permissions for his book.. Enough said really.

I did apply to beta-test this game just to check this wild worship of the nazi machine so many players seem to have, but also backed up with a sound knowlege of WW2: an interest started listening to grandad once he returned from Holland and Germany.
I'm sad to see how flippant this greatest of all wars is now treated and happy I was born a Christian and proud I'm now athiest.
I'm sad to see how the lost lives of the British and Commonwealth and Russians are so "under-studied" by hollywood.

Sweden remained neutral and her neutrality was abused by the fascists throughout the war.
This war was not a game, Russia lost 26 MILLION people alone.
America refused to join whilst the Commonwealth fought alone.
She only joined once Japan declared war and then insisted Germany also did so too. Untill then (In the interventing couple of days), she was happy to ignore the Nazi's.
The USA fielded 5 million troops, the Commonwealth 4 million, hollywood....pah

The "Matilda" tank was unstoppable in the early phase of the war, no German gunnery could penetrate her armour, sadly her speed meant a soldier could walk as fast, the nazi's learnt from this, the British didn't.
Later in the war the Churchill design was excellent, bar the engine. A bit like the P52 Mustang- designed and built to British War department specs by the Americans, but delivered with a crap engine (Alison) first, Once fitted she beat the Spitfire but lost vs the Mosquito I feel.

The Centurion entered British Army service shortly before the war ended and was astounding- how much was a result of German tank technology I don't know, but the Nazi's engineered their tanks to such a fine point that, although they built the best, the T-34 would always win, as it was simple, simple and simple, but with a good calibre.
