I first seen this video and heard of Verbena on MTV 2 when all they had was music videos. I was blown away by it. So far i've had two copies of the album. I had seen them once open for Local H under the name Alabama Boys Choir around La Musica Negra came out. By then, the bassist left the band somehow. I didn't even know it was them til they played Baby Got Shot .

I honestly think that I am the only Verbena fan in my butthole town and possible the entire Rio Grande Valley aka the ass of Texas, although that would be really sad. I'm glad to see Verbena videos up. Its going on 11 years of being a fan...that has got to say something about how great this band is.

They are a local band to us here in Birmingham, AL. They fucking rocked. Grab Souls for Sale if you can find it. It's great like Into the Pink, but harder to find than the others. It also predates Dave Grohl's involvement. These are the two with Anne Marie Griffin on them. She is important, kinda like Exene is to John Doe. Souls for Sale also includes a fourth member, Daniel Johnston.

Bad ass band - a friend introduced them to me about 4 years ago. I have no idea why they went under the radar during the 90's. Better than a lot of the crap that made it through the radio waves.

Also look up the Wipers. They came out in the early 80's and stayed under the radar, but they were a huge influence a whole decade later. (you'd think they were a 90's grunge band - but they were way before)

dude totally right. ive loved verbena for years. soon as i heard into the pink i delved into everything they got. that song "sick like me" id love to get but its on the pretty please single which i think is like impossible to get. but i checked out the wipers and they're awesome. As a Nirvana fan im surprised i never checked them out earlier. I knew D7 was a cover but hell i never knew the wipers are sick.

I found it funny.

i LOVE the heavy bluesy lounge act they provide. very hard, deep, and driving, yet you can picture having one of those cigarette holders in some purple high class lounge. pretty sweet

i have both souls for sale and into the pink and let me say that these guys do not disappoint. All though they kinda shifted their grunge/alabama-ish sound from souls for sale to a more post grunge sound around into the pink and la musica negra, they are still amazing. It's a shame they aren't that well known
