listening to the audio it sounds like theyre talking about some one else breaking their truck at that same spot. thats four wheeling, not gm, ford, or toyota, its just what happens.
Actually it is the drivers fault for breaking that tie rod. But most of you people are too clueless to actually know that, so it doesn't really matter. The 4wd system was just doing its job. It is designed to send all power to the wheel that has the most traction, unlike a regular limited slip differential which sends all power to the wheel that has no traction. So if the driver had not floored the accelerator and just eased over the rock, everything would have been fine.
your are right about the driver being an idiot, but a differential supplies equal amounts of torque to both wheels. With a limited slip, more torque is applied to the wheel that is not slipping, while the wheel that is slipping is given only a little bit of torque
no its a cruddy IFS system on the front of a big heavy damn near 3/4 ton truck. WITH 35s!! or however big they are. that 4wd systems job is to snap tie rods!
