Philippa is my favorite author because she doesn't write boring history book. You learn a lot of history from her books, but she's more interested in writing a gripping story, which I love
I like her Tudor novels and she is a novelist and not a historian. But I found her other novels aka Wideacre to OTT. I also did not like 'The Wise Woman' once again she went over the top with all the witchcraft nonsense. But I have ordered her new book released in August, 'The White Queen' set in the time before the Tudors. Should be interesting. As for my favourite historian I choose Alison Weir, she is excellent. Cheers.
You really, in all honesty, can not compare them to each other. While they are both historians, philippa's career is more historical novel writing, which includes accurate facts, while Starkey does not write novels, just Biographies and such.
love your books!

This is exactly what I would expect her to read actually. Photographs of roses > history on the Houses of the roses

Loved Starkey's "Six Wives of Henry VIII" and 'Elizabeth: The Struggle for the Throne" + Alison Weir's books!

I love to visit Borders and write down all my favorite titles, and then go buy them 2/3 cheaper online.
YOu have to be a moron to shop at Borders.
