Hey first off very nice tank...ive just started on my first planted tank so far i have 3 different types of plants eco complete substrate an a piece of driftwood its a 20 gallon high so i was just wondering what kind of light would be best for my plants will be posting a new video with the new substrate within a few days thanks...
As far as lighting goes, it depends on what plants you are wanting to keep. If your are wanting really hardy pants, such as anubias, java fern, or wenditti, 2 watter per gallon is just fine. But, if you are wanting to add more exotic plants, such as hairgrass, vallisineria, frill plants, banana plants, etc., you are looking at between 2 and 4 watts per gallon, and CO2. Good luck!
hai. i am a new bees of water plant. my setup is simple. sand base only, 2 driftwood, tie with java moss. No co2. Tank, new. It was about 2 weeks but pass few days fungus, look like cotton woll grow in the aquarium. I did put tetra 100 for micro grow yesterday- water turns muddy. any help? to solve the fungus and mud?
Yes, there is. The best choice is probably compact fluorescent bulbs, and they need a color temperature between 6400 and 1000 degrees Kelvin. The package of the bulb should tell you.
You also need a lot of light. The fixtures sold in standard aquarium hoods will not cut it. A lot of people try for about 3 watts of light per gallon of water in their aquarium. In this tank I have 2 24W CF bulbs, so that's about 2.4 wpg, which is fine for the types of plants I have in there.
Your tank looks really healthy check out mine!

Is youtube only show off the thngs they have, instead to share the knowledge? If i wait for the reply, I think the next step is trowing my tank away.

Let me know if you have any other questions, and also check plantedtank dot net slash forums (YouTube doesn't allow url's).
There's a forum specifically for lighting, and you can also learn about fertilizing and CO2 injection.
