@andifie1 ... people like you think its all so easy .... it's not as easy as just expand the room a bit more .. you need more equipment mot food more water it's gonna cost alot of money.
it is still wrong to eat kill and eat animals, chickens are included, they were not created for us to eat every day, livestock farming causes the most carbon emessions more than cars and trucks, al gore didnt mention the livestock is responsible for most greenhouse gasses, deadly methane, shit geting into our drinking water, foresting getitng cut down to grow shit food for animals , its so bad for the environment,
Having worked in the poultry business the term `organic` for these birds seems to be just a label. Granted the density levels are better which in some cases is the difference between an Organic and ordinary broiler. In the UK all birds have to be fed an organic diet right from chick stage onwards. By the way, did anyone notice the very dead looking chick? It wasn't sleeping I assure you.
They maybe better farmed than some but they are still babies reared without their mother in an artifical environment and then slaughtered whilst still babies! And of course you have to juistify your job or why else would you do it! But at the end of the day.. no one needs to eat another animal in the western world to live.. people just do it cause they can!
Why the hell does meat have to taste so good, what kind of sick joke is this :| and if i blame it on god im going to get flamed i bet :D (well as a Atheist that's just to get your panties in a wad :P)
I want one!!! Question, Are chickens loud? I know their loud as babies when they get hungry. But I want to know because I want to rescue a baby chicken that doesnt have anyone to care for him. I want to care for him until he is old enough to go to a farm, his name is Henry :D
@ahorganics -- I'm sorry, the audio wasn't loud enough for me to know if you mentioned this (yes, I had it turned up to max), but I'm wondering if the birds ever get to go out into the sunshine while they are growing? I do think vitamin D through sunshine is necessary for TRULY organic livestock. The FDA may not specify that, but as the consumer, I do!
@ahorganics -- Another question, being organic, I'm sure you don't feed them antibiotics, steroids or growth hormone, and you must be feeding them solely organic grain. But without artificially stimulating their growth, at what age do they go to slaughter? Do they grow abnormally giant breasts like the non-organic chickens? And do your birds ever get caught and injured in those feeders? I've seen pictures of that at the bad farms. I suppose it's inevitable, but how often does it happen?
@akaRubyHeart on natural diet they grow up by 6 months n start to lay eggs.at 2 months when conventional broilers are 2and half to 3 kg,ours only not even half kg.so much for 'fast food'(fast growth,i mean).often only 200 gm!haha
THis is not how my granny raised her chickens...They were outside running around the grass, bathing in the pond and eating from fresh corn cobs and worms after rain... and just slept inside...I would say this is better then what we normally see but maybe some little walk in the wild would make them even more tasty?! Ok, this is coming from since creation vegetarian and 18 years vegan who would prefer 100% animal liberation...but all right I rather choose nice prison then bad one
At least they get a taste of living a normal life. For crying out loud have you seen a regular chicken, beef or pig farm? It's living hell. Thanks for being humane and having common sense.
This film is too much. Ja Ja Ja Ja. I think you;re right. The bird is dead at 44 seconds. No to be hate'n but, the extra calm voice while I see a dead baby chicken face down in the dirt with classical music in the background as you say slaughter was so funny because it was the most calm, insensitive way of presenting our humanity, But you know, It was also perfect. Thanks for the laughs.
@210482fmj you are sadly mistaken my friend, this breed of chicken is meant for MEAT this means they double there weight in less then a week!Do you know how much food they require?Do you realize they would be eaten in a couple days by predators? How about raising chickens before you comment.
@210482fmj These birds aren't even a pure species. They are genetically enhanced to grow fast for meat production. They die by the time they get to 10-11 weeks old because their bodies grow too fast and their systems start to shut down. Chickens were meant to be left alone just like the rest of the animals and not messed with "genetically"! This type of chicken doesn't taste as good a true free-range organic chicken either. Sad to think that people think otherwise.
@210482fmj shut up! We need some form of farming. no hormones clean environment and quality food source is exactly what is needed for healthy and sustainable farming to be ethical but also for the animals produced to be healthy to eat when they are slaughtered and ready to be eaten as food!!
Unfortunately, there is nothing you can say or do to ever change the fact of the cruelty Mankind has incurred on these Animals. A deformity compared to their natural, healthier, intelligent ancestors who survived in the forests of Asia, without predators like Tigers and Leopards, better than most humans could do without any form of a weapon! Now they're survival lies completely in our hands with artificial insemination & producing bigger pectoralis muscles, for our consumption.
Unfortunately, there is nothing you can say or do to ever change the fact of the cruelty Mankind has incurred on these Animals. Just a question Ive worked on chicken broiler farms before there doesn,t seem to be to many chickens in the barns this way it would seem that your cost per chicken would have to be marked up considerably to turn any profit how does this work out for you how many chickens are you raising per barn and for how long thanks
for those who think our cute little chicks are lab made chemical pumped mutated chicks and that we are a bunch of murdering assholes; come out and visit our farm, we live in kingsburg california. you can see our piles of paper work we have to go through each year to keep us organic and you will see that our little chicks are pretty happy. Above all check your research b4 you comment.
@ahorganics ..............But still they are orphanes, they are deprived from the warmth of the mother who normally stays for 2-3 months to keep under her wings the babies.......
Looks pretty nice what you do, i imagine to make a profit out of hens you cant leave the mother with the babies, actually, they are likely born from incubators..... Meat/eggs industry, even organic is still a sad life! Vegan is the way..Cheers!
@madalene2012 whats the difference to a chicken? our chickens can leave as they please, we only take the eggs we can use the rest hatch and live with their mother, the roosters get eaten when they grow up, we dont keep them caged they could fly off or just plain leave and they stay, do you really think those chickens are living a sad life? they get killed in nature.
@michaelofnewbabylon Oh, well, You sound doing your best for meat/eggs consumption! Keep doing what you can at best! Nothing to compare with the hell of poltries! :-)
@ahorganics Chickens were never meant to be "Genetically Enhanced" and therefore, nothing you've stated means much because of it. Animals were never meant to be this way, and to claim they are otherwise is absurd. Therefore, these chicken farms should never be. I would never call you a "murdering a-hole" but I would consider you misinformed. This is a chicken on steroids basically because they grow way to fast for their bodies to handle it. This is why I grow my own naturally.
@ahorganics No matter how nicely I treat you, if my end goal is to enclose your surroundings and ultimately kill you before your natural life ends, how can that be said to be humane and a 'happy' life?
Place yourself in the chick's place. Would you care for that? or freedom?
I love you all the same, but are you kidding yourself or us? Either way, it's the chicken's lives who are murdered at your hands. They aren't dying naturally.
'We aren't meant to be the burial places for animal corpses.'

those are not organic chickens. They are those lab made --grow fast variety that get slaughtered after 10 weeks he said. Liars! I feel bad for the chickens.
This ought to be the minimum welfare standard. We do not need to eat meat all the damn time!! Have it less, pay more for it, and know that the animal did not endure excessive suffering. The route of the problem is cost-cutting in the meat industry.
what's organic about that? As long as they aren't able to get their own food in the wild, they are not organic. Those chickens are filled with chemicals to survive this abnormous conditions. In my country this type of farming is considered standard chicken farming. Not organic.
@MillyVanillification organic isn't about being in the wild - there are specific things that have to happen to be certified organic - clearly that isn't what you think. I suggest reading the standards. The only way to control what they eat and insure pesticides etc aren't eaten is controlling what they eat - this does that.
"Organic" is NOT THE SAME as FREE RANGE, nor the same as NATURAL... These are normal "CORNISH HENS" that grow extremely rapidly and won't live past a few weeks anyway due to their breeding for growth. You DO NOT want ORGANIC...believe me... You WANT ALL NATURAL anything...
