Haha, I love this! My dog is exactly the same way... He automatically hands me his right paw every time, but when I try to get him to "give other paw" (something my parents' dog does with no problem) he just looks sooo confused! I've only tried to teach it to him a few times, so maybe eventually he will get it, lol... Your Bengal is absolutely beautiful btw :)
um... you seem to be confused...this is a cat, C-A-T, a cat. not a dog. cats are leaders, not followers, it's impossible to train a cat in this manner. a man in atlanta did have trained cats, you can find him on youtube. he;s russian, but trained is still loosely used.
I remember a kindergarten teacher who wanted me to be right-handed...dumb broad...she didn't wear underwear...I remember "nap time" and lying on my back as she walked around us...probably warped my mind forever...and I am STILL left handed!
Uhhh... I have the feeling that the cat trained you xD
Cats are just like that, aren't they? We always surrender to their desires (my cat makes me open the door for her, and also often steals my chair and I have to go find somewhere else to sit)
Shake is one command that she's learned means the left paw, but then "shake other paw" is an incredibly complex sentence structure for a cat. you should choose a single word that means "shake your right paw" that doesn't sound similar to "shake" and she'll pick it up fine.

cats are south paws, as we southern types say.

The cat can't lift the right paw because he can't put the left one to the ground, 'cause your stupid hand is in the way.

Nice! Maybe try simplifying the "shake the other paw" by just saying "other" - works great with my dog.

@chrisbitz Good idea. I was in dog training for a while. We taught "shake" to mean to right " and "paw" to mean the left>
