That first shot was REALLY shaky. You should invest in a shoulder mount or build your own. The further your hands are from the camera, the less shaky it will be.

The hf100 I have always with me.

For example in Istanbul "Bauchtanz in Istanbul"

should, it comes with a disk for the software to recognize the camera, the camera comes with a USB, firewire and av cables

Yeah and this is only 720p, if you deinterlace the raw footage, you actually have 1080p :P Playing the native AVCHD files on my ps3 looks B-E-A-Utiful

I HAVE a Canon HF10 (same as HF100 but with built in memory).

The quality IS AMAZING! Very clear! BUT it can QUICKLY become a VHS camcorder if you shake it even just a little, AND when using it at night! AT NIGHT, dont even bother to use the highest quality mode, looks the same as the lowest quality mode. But high quality mode is a MUST for daytime!

One thing I dislike is the blurred movement of cars etc. I cant seem to ever rid it!

I use sony vegas 8 to edit and I right click on the video clip I'm editing, go to properties and click on 'disable resample'

That is flippin handsome! When you think back 25 years ago to those great big Super VHS cameras and the considerably rubbish quality, this beats everything. In fact why would anyone need a big camera anymore?

Yeah, big difference ... the Sony H20 seems to take forever to zoom and also makes that annoying sound while zooming. Also the stabilizer does not seem great for a 10x.

imovie won't import MTS files

yes, it's what i use... it imports the mts files to another codec and then you work with those files for editing.

it has image stabilization. that means that the lens/recording componet is mounted on shock like things. kind of like a studio condenser mic.

i use the latest imovie 08, its the only version that can convert the avchd to editable files, earlier version cannot. you also need an intel mac. still love the camera though its kind of a pain with backing up the footage, etc. hopefully that will get better over time.

What was your settings, my guess is easy button. I found that useing the easy button made the image pop, but at the sacrifice of blown whites and blacks that are too black

No, didn't use the easy button... It is actually different settings, which I didn't keep track of at the time. This is right out of the box testing. I know more about it now then I did at the time.

It looks great on Vimeo HD. I have problems loading high quality videos onto YouTube. If you look at my recent video, there are a lot of hotspots. I don't know why that is.

Hi there! I check out your video... Not sure why you got those hotspots going on, I assume its a compression mismatch going on. What do you use to compress the video before uploading... might want to try a few different settings to see if that works. I usually stick to MPG4.

I figured out it's because my old laptop is hating my new digi camera. I think I have the Intel "Caveman" processor. I'm getting a refurbed Mac G4 from a friend soon. My old digi video cam seems to work better.
