I've been priviliged enough in the past 2 days to test drive a zr1 and 2012 gtr. I can tell you that both are wicked fast with the edge going to the gtr. Especially on launch. It felt like my inards were empting. Zr1 has more sex appeal and sounds much better but the gtr is a true sleeper car with all the bells and whistles of a luxury car. Both are winners in my mind.
@Lagalto216 No they're not...the GT-R is a great car,but we all know about all the transmission problems they still have.....AWD is great for the launch and in some track situations,but the GT-R is heavy compared to the Vette.Yes,it can be quicker off the line but once the Vette gets rolling watch out...I've driven both and I'll still take the Vette....it's a true sports car in the sense that you have to row gears yourself.....the Nissan does it all for you....that's not a lot of fun....

Don't try this against a 2013 GT-R which got 2.7 0-60 and 10.80 1/4 mile on a SLIPPERY runway in Motortren'ds Test. It would get like 10.5 1/4 mile on a sticky drag strip at sea level.
The $90k GT-R with it's 3.8ltr. V6 turbo vs. the $120k ZR1 (6.3ltr.?) supercharged V8 and the GT-R lost by how much? I really don't think that's a "go ZR1" moment. $30k people............$30k! Don't get me wrong I love the ZR1 its an awesome car but to call the GT-R junk thats just crazy. It's one helluva a car and there isn't a stock $90k car out there that can touch it.
If I owned a sports car that cost $30k more than the car I was racing against and I lost due to the cars performance I wouldn't be too happy. Is there a $90k car that can run with the GT-R? What's the Horsepower difference between these 2 cars? I've saw both the GT-R and the ZR-1 at a car show over the summer and I must say as far as the interior of those car go the GT-R is a much nicer car on the inside the fit and finish was top notch. The ZR1 looked really cheap on the inside for the money.

@altimgamr I Couldn't help but jump in your arugment because you clearly don't know what you talking about, 2 seconds faster around nurb? wrong! zr1 did it in 7:19 seconds and the gtr was a what? 7:26. oh and the gtr is a 90k car, and theres 2011 zr1 corvettes forsale for 90k.lol the reason the can get high in the 120k is because of the 3zr package upgrades, similar to the gtr black edition that would put you at 100k. :)

@fresh817boii idk how high you are right now but the fastest the gtr did was 7:21 which is less than 2 seconds slower than the zr1. it looks better and has 4 seats with a better interior and better mileage. it also costs less.

I've been priviliged enough in the past 2 days to test drive a zr1 and 2012 gtr. I can tell you that both are wicked fast with the edge going to the gtr. Especially on launch. It felt like my inards were empting. Zr1 has more sex appeal and sounds much better but the gtr is a true sleeper car with all the bells and whistles of a luxury car. Both are winners in my mind.

@Lagalto216 No they're not...the GT-R is a great car,but we all know about all the transmission problems they still have.....AWD is great for the launch and in some track situations,but the GT-R is heavy compared to the Vette.Yes,it can be quicker off the line but once the Vette gets rolling watch out...I've driven both and I'll still take the Vette....it's a true sports car in the sense that you have to row gears yourself.....the Nissan does it all for you....that's not a lot of fun....

The $90k GT-R with it's 3.8ltr. V6 turbo vs. the $120k ZR1 (6.3ltr.?) supercharged V8 and the GT-R lost by how much? I really don't think that's a "go ZR1" moment. $30k people............$30k! If I owned a sports car that cost $30k more than the car I was racing against and I lost due to the cars performance I wouldn't be too happy. Is there a $90k car that can run with the GT-R? What's the Horsepower difference between these 2 cars? I've saw both the GT-R and the ZR-1 at a car show over the summer and I must say as far as the interior of those car go the GT-R is a much nicer car on the inside the fit and finish was top notch. The ZR1 looked really cheap on the inside for the money.

all you guys speak of tires, drivers and so on. well flat out no questions the GTR beat the ZR1 BOTH with pro drivers at nuremberg by 2 seconds, and the average driver on the average road will be able to handle the GTR better than the over priced zr1 which you can see 10 times a day on average....in a rolling run the sheer horse power will win but the driver better be careful or they will be in a ditch..sorry people but at the end of every straightaway is a turn.
