Watching Phillip tell Alex about Alan was the hardest thing I've ever seen on that show. I started crying so hard when he walked in the room to tell her because I knew what her reaction would be. It was so hard to watch, even still. Marj Dusay is Gold!
I LOOOOOOVED me some Marj Dusay as Alex. A lot of people liked the original better (the late, great Beverlee McKinsee), but I really, really, really thought Marj was great also with the Alex character.

I know a lot of people loved the original alex, as did I. But I always thought she was a fine #2.
