Commanderpolska I suggest you actually read the treaty. The Treaty incorporates the European Convention on Human Rights which most European countries - including Poland - have signed up to. The ECHR permits in time of War and in very limited circumstances the use of the death penalty. It does not require the re-introduction of the death penalty in time of war or otherwise. Please, stop the lies and scaremongering.
I don't know about your 'most' European countries, but if even one country hasn't signed the ECHR and the death penality is forced upon it by diktat out of Brussel than that is one too many.

Commanderpolska I suggest you actually read the treaty. The Treaty incorporates the European Convention on Human Rights which most European countries - including Poland - have signed up to. The ECHR permits in time of War and in very limited circumstances the use of the death penalty. It does not require the re-introduction of the death penalty in time of war or otherwise. Please, stop the lies and scaremongering.

And now that you mention the issue let me tell you this. There's no veto right for any country since Lisbon in regards to military action to be taken and that pushes members into war in an undemocratic fashion.

Enough of yr lies commanderpolska.... The EU doesn't have power to impose the death penalty on member states. The ECHR allows (but doesn't require) the death penalty in certain extreme circumstances. Anyway, it's entirely irrelevant as many countries have banned the death penalty and this is entirely consistant with the ECHR. Ireland is not obliged to participate in any EU military action. The EU does not have an army - only member states do. Please, no crap about a totalitarian superstate.
