@cyber69er I will admit, Alyx is a fantastic character and the enemies are pretty good. As for story, I just dont think "oh my god! you're Gordan Freeman! take my vehicle!" will cut it for me. Shootout's arent very epic at ALL, and i personally think the Gravity gun is WAAAAAAAYYYYY overrated. The graphics were way ahead of their time though. :)

On another note, people play Minecraft because it's creative, and it has no plot. You can share with your friends, and everyone's experience is not based on the amount of time you play in game, such as levels, but based on the skill your body has. Everyone is equal in Minecraft.

@dreadnus Its a puzzle game with some action elements in it. First person, you use a device to create portals and solve puzzles to get out of rooms. The voice is a computer that tried to kill you (the test subject) in the first game. Just play the first one, its probably not that different from this one.
