HELLO fellow PL enthusiast! Have you ever thought about retro-fitting the Space Pod into the existing J-2 kit? I did, and it took alot of modification, but it does work.
I also raised the floor of the upper deck for more headroom down below. Undoubtedly, this is how it would have had to have been for her to be a viable two-level craft.
@danzamphi could you of taken and cut the lander in half and just used the lower half to view on your model? Install it permanently and it might work and still look good.
I've always thought to myself that every time they showed the Jupiter 2 when it was landing, that the outside dimensions of the ship were too small to have a lower level as large as was shown in the series with the galley, and all the quarters. Also, there was one episode that showed a 3 level where the ship's reactor was supposed to be. They didn't seem to have a sense of scale to support that the ship was that large inside.
I have this model and I just purchased the Moebius Models 18 inch version. I'm lighting them both. The 12 inch version will be the "in flight and crash site" model, the larger will be the studio "beauty!"
Very nice! Do you did it by yourself? There is not such memorabilia available in my place.I'm planing to make a small B9 Robot replica with plastic wasted material. I've been planing and I think it will not be difficult.
Wow that really re-captured my imagination..I am a huge Lost In Space Fan.....my fav. char. was Dr. Smith ---

Yes, it is a "Polar Lights" model. The light kit on the bottom was purchased on line and runs with a 9 volt battery. Thanks!
