I like his latest album... I feel it has a nice mix of vocals and instrumental. I like Animal Magic and Dial 'M' even better but I couldn't even get through Days to Come...
I don't see what's wrong with having vocals. The singing kind of just blends in, as someone said earlier, it's like another instrument. Bonobo's like the only DJ I really like, and I haven't heard anything I didn't really like.
i agree as well. when i first heard bonobo it was the dial m for monkey album, and that turned me off from lyrics for a couple years. and im still very partial to non lyrical music. i feel ppl think that music needs lyrics to send a clear message, but that is not at all the case. it is obviously much easier for a passive listener to derive a meaning from lyrics than it is to do so without lyrics. but the reality is that the emotions are in the music, the sounds...
I think it's great he does both, and to my ear he treats the voice like another instrument. I don't even listen to the lyrics. Plus it's good for the live performance to have a singer for a song here and there.

@apolloshezmu I feel like so many songs of his really embrace spoken word and it gives the songs a great direction in what feeling it evokes. You could just listen to the song but for me its not food for thought.
