Oh my goh. I'm looking at it and I know EXACTLY what it tastes like. The inhibiting ice at the top making your first sip begin watery sweet, transitioning to a full on rich, healing flavour as you tip the glass and take in more from the bottom.
I love sweet tea! Im from Virginia and you can get it in most restaraunts in Richmond, but up towards DC area it becomes more scarce. I think Fredericksburg is probably on the sweet tea line.
You got that right! I live down on the VA/NC border and you can get sweet tea EVERYWHERE!But we went to Manassas and they said they only had unsweet and raspberry tea. And not all of the south has it. We went to Fla on our honeymoon and they didn't have it either.
Mannasas has changed a lot because 30 years ago you could definitely get sweet tea there. But I think now its Richmond is the line- or Fredericksburg. I grew up in NOVA and it was 50/50 Now its more like one out of 50, lol. In Richmond , you can get it at 90% of the places. But I was in Nashville and most of the cafes and coffee shops did not offer sweet tea. Or they told me sugar was on the table. That ain't sweet tea- thats sweetened tea, lol.
Definition of where sweet tea is served is a bit off. I live in Daytona Beach, Florida. Anywhere in north Florida to just a little south of me is Sweet Tea territory. When you get further south, from about Melbourne to Key West, you'll have trouble finding it, but from Jacksonville across to the Alabama border, you will easily find it.(Some of Orlando is an exception) Sweet tea love doesn't stop at the Florida norther border.
Florida is funny. I heard an old joke when you reach Florida you've gone so far South, you're in the North again! Ha! Well thats true. Jacksonville is the last true Southern city. And frankly, I dont think Atlanta, Charlotte, or Nashville are very Southern either. At least not compared to Richmond.

Yes, I know what you mean, When I visit DC they don't know about it. Sweet tea is the best drink created!

you can get sweet tea in some places in DC. But almost nowhere in the Northeast. I have tried, and they have no idea.

Terrific! Very interesting. But, I should say, I'm a Northerner who loves Sweet Tea and drinks it year round. It's not just for Southerners :)
