  • I cheers for European Martial Arts

  • before the step foward, what is keeping ur inside arm from going for the take down anyways?

  • I'm trying to find a proper HEMA school in my area, but in the meantime I imagine this technique will help me enormously with my leg grabs in judo. Thanks for posting it. :)

  • @rodtheworm

I don't know if you have seen this, if you haven't then it may help you find that school.

  • i learned that if u want to turn im the other way just lean ur head into his body

  • kampfriggen sounds like something a camp cook does when you insult him, he gives you a beating, or something like frikazeeing, I do know that its a western form of hand to hand from the days of sword combate like judo or techniques used in modern wrestling.

  • @manga12 too bad the approach between modern wrestling is what makes it different i.e. beacuse its a sport, its a game and has no place in real life fighting. if u look at modern combaty systems that used boxing they abandon alot of the concepts seeing in competative boxing.

  • ok main concept here is if opposite leg is in the lead

ex sample his left to your right or his right to your left.

in other words a mirror stance to you.then you can make this happen or more important you don't have to make this happen , you will see the oppertunity for this awsome take down.all from knowing when your in a mirror stance from your opponet

  • Awesome work! Thanks for explaining it

  • Kampfringen! I've been looking for somewhere I might learn it but no one teaches it. Make more vids.

  • Very good... I really like how you explain the move and the setup for it. We need more videos like this. Do you plan to make more?

btw; do you train sambo? It is good to see experienced grapplers practicing historical ringen.

  • This is good :)

I think even collegiate wrestlers could profit a lot from this stuff

  • to boriomc, just study catch as catch can, that is the descendat of medieval grappling.

  • bassreeves1965 catch as catch can is the descendat of the english medieval fighting combatives.... Kampfringen has sadly not a modern sporting counterpart. Maybe fencing or Jaegerstock ... We must use the informations of the old manuscripts and manuals.

  • man, i wish you could learn more about those old european martial arts. even in germany its nearly impossible to find clubs. i love judo, so id also like to get to know our own version of it.

    Nice video guys!

  • boritomic: Germany is a virtual hotbed of these arts! Groups like Ochs, Hammaborg, Alte Kampfkunst and others are very, VERY good. Look them up, and see if they can't help you find a group near you.

  • Great little tutorial

Looking forward to learning the martial art in its entirity

  • it apears a Sanda Takedown

  • Kampfringen , die beruehmte deutsche Kampfkunst. Einfach super!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Oh, and also check out the video called Takedowns @ 938 flighthours by graugart for a whole bunch of bjj versions of this takedown plus more.

  • nice!

  • Weel done!

  • Well presented and nice technique. Thanks!

    /Anders
