how in the world does she know that after the station she didn't remember anything but a song. the 9th laughed and said i sang a song and the dallek run away' so how does she know that. can anyone say BAD WOLF!! i think part of it is still in her head
Not to sound like a jerk, but i don't see why everyone considers this an act of bravery. I mean the daleks needed her alive, (since they didn't know mickey was a time traveler) so it's pretty obvious they wouldn't have killed her no matter what she said. it'd be like killing a hostage before getting the ransom money - pointless and counterproductive.
Rose, I fucking love you. XD You adapted to this life well, such a fitting companion: The Oncoming Storm and Bad Wolf--enemies should TREM.BLE. And oh, don't start the she's a bitch, that chick was this--how the hell is Rose a bitch? She's incredibly compassionate, one of the things the doctor loved about her. This is the girl who wanted to stay forever, no 'take me home's--had to be forced. But maaaaan, this was an epic "Yeah I did it, how ya like me noooow." moment XD. My girl was baaad.
@MrGalaxyPictures she was prone to jealousy sometimes, she was bubbly she was sad and she felt what the doctor felt. Her character was human and she played that part incredibly well, compared to cardboard cut out jones.
@MrGalaxyPictures She's facing a Dalek. Honestly if she wasn't laughing and being epic then she might have given up and cried. So I think it's the better option.
It's actually quite scary the way Billie and David do the angry scenes. Like when the Doctor punishes the family of blood... they just seem so... calm.
This moment works so much better than River Song making the dalek beg for mercy. why? Because we actually have a reason for the Daleks to hate Rose. We know what she's capable of. We've seen who she is and know that the Dalek should be scared.
it doesn't work with river song because guess what? she has not character at all. the extent of river song's character is that she knows some stuff about the doctor....and that's it. which is why she sucks.
@TheSinkingtruck no we won't. we'll learn juuuuuust a little bit so that we'll tune in next week to see if we find out more. That's how steven moffat writes.
@TheSinkingtruck of course that's what the trailer says. do you think people will watch if they tell you that you wont find out anything and after the episode you'll only have more questions? why else would they be going on a three month break after this episode?
believe me i do hope i'm wrong because i love Doctor Who, but from what I've seen so far that's what's gonna happen.
@MrCon101 it doesn't change anything though. River Song is still a character without any depth. I'm okay with it though. Moffat and RTD write in different ways. I can appreciate both.
"What happened to the Em-prah?" Am I the only one who loves how she says that? I wish I had some kind of British accent just so I'd have an excuse to never say "Emperor" normally again.
@ajmandmggfan there is a logical explanation to fit it though; Rose had minor "amnesia" when she woke up in the TARDIS before the regeneration from 9th-10th. She then remembered doing everything, but she couldn't control the power while she was bringing Jack back, thinking that she brought him back just the once.
Rose has serious guts to say that to Sec's face. Not to mention she knew that as soon as she said it, he would definately shoot her dead. Now that's bravery.
@sarahluvsdwrh I kinda think she's channeling Nine! He was more violent and extreme (if it's even possible!) with his mood swings than Ten. Ten hates violence; he always tries to save others, even after they've committed mass genocide! Ten would laugh in the face of Dalek Sec, but he wouldn't make it about death.
@Elensila2718 I can see how she's channelling Nine in what she says, but I tend to think she's channelling Ten in how she says it (especially 'Emperor') But I can definitely see your point :-)
I really like Rose as a companion, she is one of my favorite (old and new). But what I don't understand is how she remembers being the Bad Wolf? In "Christmas Invasion" she couldn't remember.
@Teridax01 I know! In Journey's End she didn't know she had brought Jack back to life forever! On Wiki it said that she had her memory erased of absorbing the time vortex and everything, Idk when though, off screen I guess. HA! Chalk it up to continuity errors! lol.
@seshness Well, Davros did leave hate in them, and Daleks sometimes get scared (especially if the Doctor is in - bad pun intended, sorry). So I'd guess other classically "negative" emotions get thrown in, bit by bit, as a package deal. I don't think a Dalek is capable of happiness though, unless you count Schadenfreude.
how much do i love rose? yes very much! she is sweet, compassionate and loving but still fearless and brave! i love that she didn't always need to be saved. i agree with ksf1973 she is the doctor's equal and his perfect match romantically!
I thought she could not remember killing the Dalek god?
Rose was a perfect companion for the Doctor. She was intelligent in a quiet way and brilliantly resourceful. Their relationship was not centered on their attraction, it also concentrated on what she gave the doctor. Rose was humane.she made him better with her goodness. She was generosity and love. With an underlying fire that burnt bright as the sun. The Doctor saw all this and loved her for it.
I don't think that Rose was very intelligent or competent in comparision with other companions, but hey, that's what they got the Doctor for. She manages to be badass nevertheless and had some impressing Moments of Epicness - My favourite one is when she pwns Satan.
I used to think that Martha seemed a bit smarter and more together than Rose, but really, Rose has nerves of steel and an intensity that Martha doesn't quite have. I don't think Martha would tear the universe apart just so the Doctor wouldn't be alone, but Rose would. They belong together.
@geistjagerin I think in some ways Martha is smarter-- after all, she's studying to be a doctor and Rose never even got her A-Levels-- but in the ways that really count Rose is smarter. Martha's helpful in an emergency, since he's training to be a doctor, and although Rose doesn't have anything like that, she thinks quick. And she isn't afraid, as she demonstrated here. And I agree, I don't think Martha would tear the universe apart just so the Doctor would be alone, but Rose would.
I like rose better than any of the other companions because she can be standing right in front of something that can kill her and she still acts so brave. she got right in that daleks face, and laughed at him too!
@Meangrl19 Yeah, but Martha had a plan. She knew something the Master didn't. Rose knew it was very possible that she was going to die and yet those were her last words to a Dalek, knowing that they would want to kill her even more. (And remember too, the Master is scary/horrible but everyone fears the Daleks.) I liked Martha, but Rose is my favorite because she was never afraid to do or say something. :)
@blaze2114 I'm glad to hear you don't hate Martha like everyone else. Martha is my favorite though. I still love Rose and all the other companions too(even from the classic series), but despite my vow to stay impartial to picking favorite companions thing I eventually fell in love with Martha. I love how she had to do everything all on her own and succeeded without anyone's help and that she left the Doctor so she could go take care of her family.
@blaze2114 As for fearing the Master or the daleks, I don't fear either. At first I feared the Master, but never the daleks. Not to mention that in the classic series you will realise the Master isn't really scary, his plans always backfire. The Daleks you can't be scared of because well just look at them. I love Rose, but I didn't like how she commited genocide and then laughed about it. Standing up for herself was amazing! Laughing about commiting genocide-not so good.
@blaze2114 I liked Rose with the Doctor though. She was one of the best companions FOR him. She told him off when he needed it and she was very empathetic(well in the beginning of he first series she was). I love Martha when she wasn't around the Doctor. She was very heroic and very independent. It's too bad Rose wasn't there when Martha was. If Rose would have seen the Doctor being so cruel to Martha she would have told him off and put him in his place. Sorry for the long message. : )
@TEHEmmie Don't forget Rose wiped out the God of Daleks the one River killed was barely even fully functioning when River killed it. Even though I've got to admit I love River making the Dalek scream mercy before killing it.
@Vasun05 yeah which is still pretty bad ass but lets not forget rose had just gone all godish on them because she looked into the tardis, but river did pretty well trying 2 equal that XD
@TEHEmmie well if Rose had the experience as River maybe but still I like River's killing because it was funny and cool Rose's way was very similar to what the Doctor did in the Time War, kill everyone
@dwfan6995 I 100% agree. Especially when compared to Martha in Daleks In Manhattan, when the Doctor practically has to beg her to ask the Dalek what's going on. Rose not only spoke to the Dalek all on her own, but she taunted it and laughed in its face! I love Rose. :)
@PigPenguin91 I feel as if that comparison shouldn't exist because that was the first time Martha had met the daleks, she was still getting used to the whole traveling with the doctor thing whereas rose had met a good dalek and wiped out an entire race of them already...that doesn't take away from her being awesome in this scene (the only one where I absolutely adore her in)...sorry it's your opinion of course but I just felt the martha part of the comment was irrelevent (and bordering on hater)
@kyosgirl92 Hm... you do sort of have a point. I just can't picture Martha ever doing something like that, even if she had been traveling with the Doctor for awhile. I don't hate Martha by any means, I just find her kind of annoying most of the time, and a bit boring. Also, I'm an insane shipper, so anyone who tries to interfere with my Doctor/Rose romance will be disliked by me a bit. :P
@PigPenguin91 I'm betting you saw Rose first which I understand but I saw Martha first and she was who got me into Dr Who so I much prefer her, I'm just now warming up to Rose (I blamed her for the Doctor treating Martha badly half the time) probably not logical but oh well also I'm not a big fan of major shipping with the doctor I feel as if choosing one ship is like saying that every other companion is just a replacement and all have their place (except adam if you count him...and Vicki...
@kyosgirl92 Yeah, I started watching at the beginning of the new series, with Nine and Rose. I love Rose, because I think she's the most interesting companion, and like I said, I'm a huge shipper of Doctor/Rose. How is it Rose's fault that the Doctor treated Martha badly sometimes? I'm a little confused as to how choosing one ship is like saying that every other companion is just a replacement... I love Rose, but Donna's a close second for my favorite companion, and I love Jack, too.
@PigPenguin91 oh it was just a spare thought that flew through my head like if martha had met the doctor first then he would have been nicer more smiles less comparisons and she would have been able to grow rather than being shot down..also i'm not saying you do it but people get made when "their" companion leaves and some insane big shippers see every other companion as a way of trying to fill the place with the new one but the companion is never quite good enough...seen with those who hate
@kyosgirl92 Hm... maybe. But if the Doctor had never met Rose, he wouldn't be the same. I mean, when Nine regenerated into Ten, Rose was there, and surely that had some impact on his new self. And before that, Nine was softened by Rose and made into a better person by her. Although I also think it's hardly the Doctor's fault that he sometimes compared Rose to Martha. Yes, it was unfair, but he just lost the love of his life/lives, and he missed Rose.
@PigPenguin91 I know which is why I'm really softening up to her now this all kind of went through my head when before I met Donna and had been a hardcore Martha/ten shipper since then I've mellowed out and can see the good in all the companions (except Vicki grr) I love the 9th/Rose dynamic and wish it would have stayed that way but going into the second series I feel as if Rose lost a lot of character and individuality and just became a fangirl idk that's how I see it but to each their own
@kyosgirl92 Who's Vicki? (I'm only about halfway through season 3, so there's lots I haven't watched yet). I like the 9/Rose dynamic, too, but I like 10/Rose even better. I'm surprised to hear that you think Rose lost a lot of character in the second season. To me, she really came into her own. She wasn't just a companion who traveled with the Doctor, she helped him, saved him, and became as close to an equal as anyone ever can with the Doctor.
@PigPenguin91 I guess when I think of rose in the second series all I can think of is her hissy fits in the christmas special and her like throwing herself at the doctor...well and this scene this is also my least watched series though so that might have something to do with it also Vicki is a companion in original who whom I cannot stand...the only reason she was in it i think was to make up for susan leaving so they could have another young character...idk she really annoys me...
@kyosgirl92 I'm confused... what hissy fit in the Christmas Invasion? Rose was so awesome in that episode, standing up to the Sycorax when the Doctor wasn't there.
@PigPenguin91 maybe hissy fit is a wrong word and i admit she was awesome there but almost that entire episode before it she was all pissy and angsty and depressed which does make sense to an extent but it feels like she completely gave up until they were on the ship
@PigPenguin91 also I want to point out that Martha did threaten Davros he might have zapped her in but she did threaten the creator of all the daleks just as a side note
haaaaaa...I love how there are all these impressive things for those three daleks, and the only thing that applies to Dalek Jast is "the one with the high voice."
I have trouble telling them apart. Caan is the black one, Sec died in Daleks in New York when he became a hybrid, and...there were two others. Can't remember their names.
Dalek Caan was the one that fell threw the void and recovered the Dalek Crusival from the Time War, which we found out in "The Stolen Earth" and "Journey's End". Dalek Sec was the leader of the Cult of Skaro, the Black Dalek we see here. He later became a Dalek/Human hybrid and was killed, along with the remainder of the Cult of Skaro. Sec was also second in command of the Cult of Skaro.
How could he have been the leader and the second in command? I think you should actually watch the episodes and listen before trying to tell other people about them. <_<
how in the world does she know that after the station she didn't remember anything but a song. the 9th laughed and said i sang a song and the dallek run away' so how does she know that. can anyone say BAD WOLF!! i think part of it is still in her head

@dwfan6995 I adore Rose! You need to remember that Martha laughed at the master when he was about to kill her too though.
Meangrl19 1 year ago 5
@Meangrl19 Yeah, but Martha had a plan. She knew something the Master didn't. Rose knew it was very possible that she was going to die and yet those were her last words to a Dalek, knowing that they would want to kill her even more. (And remember too, the Master is scary/horrible but everyone fears the Daleks.) I liked Martha, but Rose is my favorite because she was never afraid to do or say something. :)
blaze2114 1 year ago
@blaze2114 I'm glad to hear you don't hate Martha like everyone else. Martha is my favorite though. I still love Rose and all the other companions too(even from the classic series), but despite my vow to stay impartial to picking favorite companions thing I eventually fell in love with Martha. I love how she had to do everything all on her own and succeeded without anyone's help and that she left the Doctor so she could go take care of her family.
Meangrl19 1 year ago
@blaze2114 As for fearing the Master or the daleks, I don't fear either. At first I feared the Master, but never the daleks. Not to mention that in the classic series you will realise the Master isn't really scary, his plans always backfire. The Daleks you can't be scared of because well just look at them. I love Rose, but I didn't like how she commited genocide and then laughed about it. Standing up for herself was amazing! Laughing about commiting genocide-not so good.
Meangrl19 1 year ago
@blaze2114 I liked Rose with the Doctor though. She was one of the best companions FOR him. She told him off when he needed it and she was very empathetic(well in the beginning of he first series she was). I love Martha when she wasn't around the Doctor. She was very heroic and very independent. It's too bad Rose wasn't there when Martha was. If Rose would have seen the Doctor being so cruel to Martha she would have told him off and put him in his place. Sorry for the long message. : )

@dwfan6995 XD new thing now: river made a dalek beg for mercy and killed it, beat that rose
TEHEmmie 10 months ago
@TEHEmmie Don't forget Rose wiped out the God of Daleks the one River killed was barely even fully functioning when River killed it. Even though I've got to admit I love River making the Dalek scream mercy before killing it.
Vasun05 9 months ago
@Vasun05 yeah which is still pretty bad ass but lets not forget rose had just gone all godish on them because she looked into the tardis, but river did pretty well trying 2 equal that XD
TEHEmmie 9 months ago
@TEHEmmie well if Rose had the experience as River maybe but still I like River's killing because it was funny and cool Rose's way was very similar to what the Doctor did in the Time War, kill everyone
Vasun05 9 months ago
@dwfan6995 I 100% agree. Especially when compared to Martha in Daleks In Manhattan, when the Doctor practically has to beg her to ask the Dalek what's going on. Rose not only spoke to the Dalek all on her own, but she taunted it and laughed in its face! I love Rose. :)
PigPenguin91 9 months ago
@PigPenguin91 I feel as if that comparison shouldn't exist because that was the first time Martha had met the daleks, she was still getting used to the whole traveling with the doctor thing whereas rose had met a good dalek and wiped out an entire race of them already...that doesn't take away from her being awesome in this scene (the only one where I absolutely adore her in)...sorry it's your opinion of course but I just felt the martha part of the comment was irrelevent (and bordering on hater)
kyosgirl92 9 months ago
@kyosgirl92 Hm... you do sort of have a point. I just can't picture Martha ever doing something like that, even if she had been traveling with the Doctor for awhile. I don't hate Martha by any means, I just find her kind of annoying most of the time, and a bit boring. Also, I'm an insane shipper, so anyone who tries to interfere with my Doctor/Rose romance will be disliked by me a bit. :P
PigPenguin91 9 months ago
@PigPenguin91 I'm betting you saw Rose first which I understand but I saw Martha first and she was who got me into Dr Who so I much prefer her, I'm just now warming up to Rose (I blamed her for the Doctor treating Martha badly half the time) probably not logical but oh well also I'm not a big fan of major shipping with the doctor I feel as if choosing one ship is like saying that every other companion is just a replacement and all have their place (except adam if you count him...and Vicki...
kyosgirl92 9 months ago
@kyosgirl92 Yeah, I started watching at the beginning of the new series, with Nine and Rose. I love Rose, because I think she's the most interesting companion, and like I said, I'm a huge shipper of Doctor/Rose. How is it Rose's fault that the Doctor treated Martha badly sometimes? I'm a little confused as to how choosing one ship is like saying that every other companion is just a replacement... I love Rose, but Donna's a close second for my favorite companion, and I love Jack, too.
PigPenguin91 9 months ago
@PigPenguin91 oh it was just a spare thought that flew through my head like if martha had met the doctor first then he would have been nicer more smiles less comparisons and she would have been able to grow rather than being shot down..also i'm not saying you do it but people get made when "their" companion leaves and some insane big shippers see every other companion as a way of trying to fill the place with the new one but the companion is never quite good enough...seen with those who hate
kyosgirl92 9 months ago
@kyosgirl92 martha for absolutely no reason or reasons that don't make sense to someone who is unbiased such as a brand new watcher
kyosgirl92 9 months ago
@kyosgirl92 Hm...
PigPenguin91 9 months ago
@PigPenguin91 I know which is why I'm really softening up to her now this all kind of went through my head when before I met Donna and had been a hardcore Martha/ten shipper since then I've mellowed out and can see the good in all the companions (except Vicki grr) I love the 9th/Rose dynamic and wish it would have stayed that way but going into the second series I feel as if Rose lost a lot of character and individuality and just became a fangirl idk that's how I see it but to each their own
kyosgirl92 9 months ago
@kyosgirl92 Who's Vicki? (I'm only about halfway through season 3, so there's lots I haven't watched yet). I like the 9/Rose dynamic, too, but I like 10/Rose even better. I'm surprised to hear that you think Rose lost a lot of character in the second season. To me, she really came into her own. She wasn't just a companion who traveled with the Doctor, she helped him, saved him, and became as close to an equal as anyone ever can with the Doctor.
PigPenguin91 9 months ago
@PigPenguin91 I guess when I think of rose in the second series all I can think of is her hissy fits in the christmas special and her like throwing herself at the doctor...well and this scene this is also my least watched series though so that might have something to do with it also Vicki is a companion in original who whom I cannot stand...the only reason she was in it i think was to make up for susan leaving so they could have another young character...idk she really annoys me...
kyosgirl92 9 months ago
@kyosgirl92 I'm confused... what hissy fit in the Christmas Invasion? Rose was so awesome in that episode, standing up to the Sycorax when the Doctor wasn't there.
PigPenguin91 9 months ago
@PigPenguin91 maybe hissy fit is a wrong word and i admit she was awesome there but almost that entire episode before it she was all pissy and angsty and depressed which does make sense to an extent but it feels like she completely gave up until they were on the ship
kyosgirl92 9 months ago
@PigPenguin91 also I want to point out that Martha did threaten Davros he might have zapped her in but she did threaten the creator of all the daleks just as a side note

Dalek Cann was absolutely brilliant in Stolen Earth & Journey's End, so cool but also completely insane. :o)

yes
robday991 3 years ago
I have trouble telling them apart. Caan is the black one, Sec died in Daleks in New York when he became a hybrid, and...there were two others. Can't remember their names.
BlackAndWhite9999 3 years ago
Sec is the black one actually.
rlkitterman 3 years ago
Oh, right, because Sec became the hybrid and then got killed and Doctor was like "ZOMG GENOCIDE NOWAI IM THE DOCTOR RAARRR"
BlackAndWhite9999 3 years ago
Dalek Caan was the one that fell threw the void and recovered the Dalek Crusival from the Time War, which we found out in "The Stolen Earth" and "Journey's End". Dalek Sec was the leader of the Cult of Skaro, the Black Dalek we see here. He later became a Dalek/Human hybrid and was killed, along with the remainder of the Cult of Skaro. Sec was also second in command of the Cult of Skaro.
OnimeKyo27 3 years ago
actually sec wasn't second in command, caan was
leopardgeckocrazy 3 years ago
How could he have been the leader and the second in command? I think you should actually watch the episodes and listen before trying to tell other people about them. <_<
Kingtom0001 2 years ago
As for the other two, it was Dalek Thay and Dalek Jast. There were 4 Daleks in the Cult of Skaro, before Dalek Caan fell threw the vortex.
OnimeKyo27 3 years ago
sec is the black dalek, it was actually daleks in Manhatten.
