I'm a vegitarian and I'm 12 I just started a week ago and haven't ate any meat It's not that hard once you get used to it.. I didn't ever like meat much anyway
I am from a brahmin (100% veg) family in INdia and Believe me as I observed In my family No one seems to be getting Diebetis, Heart problems and No One ever Died Premature deaths due to dieseses...my Granny lived 96+, Granpa 88+, Petranal Granpa 80+...also all my relatives who are 50+ they look like Non Veg people who are 40+...They fell So less sick...also they live with very less exercising etc..Still remain heathly.
@ed4409 I was just talking about something similar to this with a friend of mine. People are WAY to involved in others lives. Worry less about what everyone else is doing and be more focused on yourself. If you want to eat meat..eat meat. If you believe in God..believe in God. If you are an Atheist..by all means be one. Its your life to lead...At the end of the day, we are the ones who's living our lives. Its dumb to argue over whats better or worst to do.
I wish I was raised a vegetarian. I am trying to eat healthier over all because I want to feel better in my body. To me eating things that does not always come from a cow or chicken is probably the best way to go. Its funny how the food companies always talks about how meats can be great for you...yet they neglect to tell you how they can harm you. Milk is suppose to be so great for you yet most of the people I know cant even drink it. Most of things they say are good for you...really isn't.
@musicproducer16 You are on to something, producer. For vegetarians, (not consuming eggs or milk) calcium is something they have to make sure they're getting enough of. @srqtrashcan YES. The only reason allot of people eat from these stupid fast food establishments is because they want to get food on the go...fast. My mom use to always tell me, the short way isn't always the best way.Well I like to think that the same applies for the things we choose to put in our bodies. The sad thing is people know that its bad but they still eat it then they choose to complain when they are sick. smh. I have a question...Where do you buy most of your foods?
@musicproducer16 I used to work at Taco Bell, two weeks working there I realized I never wanted to eat fast food again. I live within 2 miles of a bustling farmers market, on my weekly visits I get basics like kale/collard greens, turnips, blueberries, cabbage-carrots-vinegar (coleslaw), broccoli, squash, apples, banana, 100% peanut-peanut butter, etc. I get beans from Adobe milling company off the net (real nice), & I get steel-cut oats, spices, 'n the like from Publix just 'cause it's close
@srqtrashcan Oh okay. I was wondering because like I said before. I am just starting out on my "healthy eating" journey (that's what I like to call it lol) And i'm not sure where to start far as buying any of my foods.I know it probably depends on where you live. I live in Ohio & I only been here for about 5 years,so I'm not sure. I usually just buy at a regular grocery store. I'm not sure if I should start buying organic or not. I guess you can say I am still a amateur at this stuff.
@musicproducer16 From my experience, fruits/veggies from your average bigbox grocery store (Publix included) aren't as fresh as those from farmers markets. The apples tend to be grittier, the squash drier on the inside, & selection tends to be limited. @MrImaveggie that's what I am doing starting tomorrow. I tried vegetarianism once and I gradually did I after a research project. I then became a pescetarian, or eating fish and no meat. I am going back to vegetarianism cold turkey tomorrow! Wish me luck because I will need it. you have to have a budget! I just love meat! What did you do the times you didn't have enough money to buy the soy, and alternative products?
@EclecticTrebleMaker1 i just went to only fruits veggies grains ect. no fak meat. but i do eat dairy products nd eggs cause eggs are never fertalized so it is never going to be alive
i'm thinking about becoming vegetarian (but I won't be until college because all my dad cooks is meat. lol) or at least eating more organic food. It's not really for nutrition as it is because of my love for animals. And like ed4409 said, just do what you want to do. If you want to eat meat, go ahead. If not, that's fine too. :)
The one thing that's not like the rest: eating meat. It affects other sentient beings, helpless sentient beings at that. My goal is no longer to necessarily convert other people to veganism, doesn't seem plausible. Instead, I remind omnivores of a shared value they have with vegans and vegetarians: animal well-being. You want to eat meat, but you still want the animals to have the best lives they can and die painlessly right? Changing the meat industry can be a shared goal, am I right?
@mellamosean do you know of any meat companies that treat their animals humanely? i am doing research and if i cant find a way to eat meat humanely i am going to be come a vegetarian.
I really need to research into that myself. First you need to identify what it is you mean by "humanely." Sufficient space, social interaction, all-around good living conditions, painless and stress-free death---these are some characteristics one might include under the umbrella of "humane." If I were you I would check around for smaller, local or semi-local farms and companies. Generally, the bigger the company, the bigger the neglect for animal well-being. That's my understandin
AND environmental reasons. Bean burrittos, P&B sandwiches? That's a junky alterntive. Tortillas are usually still maade with animal fat and pasta uses eggs.
Why not steer them in the right direction form the start? We're not living in the 60's, you know?
EAT FRUITS, GRAINS, NUTS, & VEGETABLES. (make sure to take Vit B12).
Her jaws are more pronounced like an ape. If you go back to vegetarian, you will be more like an ape if you just ate fruits, vegetables, and nuts in your diet and nothing else.
@CBasie2856 actually chimpanzee's eat insects and monkeys too and chimpanzees are apes. However, humans by far consume more meat than any apes, unless of course they are vegetarian or vegan.
@ed4409 : yes..don't fight..live in peace..but If you are Catholic surely you have a responsibility to think of others? Do you think it is ok
if EVERYONE in the world eats meat at the same rate as you? Where will the water and grains come from?? What about others going without to feed more affluent countries and let them get super fat?
@englishhelp2009 Question 1: I don't solely eat meat. I want to eat healthy and eating both meat and plants are good for the human body (and yes, you can get sick from eating undercooked meat, and you can't tell what plants have E. Coli).
Question 2: I am on both ends of the spectrum because of school. I believe that God created us, and I also believe the world was a meteor before it was habitable and we were bacteria first.
Question 3: Simple, USA=greed. We care about ourselves and not others.
@englishhelp2009 Also to answer "but If you are Catholic surely you have a responsibility to think of others?" Yes, I do think about others...hell, I put others before me. I am that generous. That's how I was raised...to treat others with respect, and to always think about others before thinking about yourself.
I'm doing a project on vegetarian diet in my FACS class and after researching it, I'm thinking about becoming a vegetarian. I'm just confused at whether or not vegetarians are allowed to eat junk food like pop and chips because I eat ALOT of that and I'm not sure I'll be able to do it if I can't!
Vegetarian just means you don't eat meat. Is your reason for considering a vegetarian diet one of health or ethics? Obviously junk food isn't healthy, but there aren't any rules---you can't eat junk food if you want and still be a vegetarian.
@KittySugarLips THANK YOU! Finally, someone who agrees to what I said (well, minus the likes my comment got lol)! I just wish there were more people like you (people that aren't as self-centered or as closed-minded).
@ItsAllChaos Good points, but animals can't make decisions like we can. They can't go up to another animal and say "We shouldn't do this" or "we shouldn't eat this animal". All I am just saying is be yourself. If you want to tell everyone to stop eating meat with facts, that's fine...go right ahead. I am not going to stop you from being yourself...you make yourself. I can't make you the way I want to see you, and vice-versa. It's personal decisions, that's all.
Lol, It's amazing how many people go on videos that are the opposite of their lifestyle just to talk smack. Obviously you question your lifestyle to be on videos that contradict you, so talking smack doesn't make sense.
@InfoRoom Wow, really? Calling me Godless? What made you think I am Godless? Because I eat meat? Because I listen to Metal? If I am not mistaken, being Godless=Atheist...which I am not. I believe that there IS a higher power, and to love everything. Also, it's not like my diet is straight up meat. I do eat vegetables...because humans are omnivores. I am not going to go around killing humans and boil their meat in a pot. We were brought here to survive...even if it means killing animals for food
There are many vegetarian social groups which have people who are more than happy to give information, support, pointers along the way. It really helps if you you other vegetarians. Seek them out.
@Cinniminto Your supposed to cook it and cut it with silverware and then chew it up. You don't grab a pig's intestine and swallow it, I'd insult your grammar but its not what I'm talking about atm.
I am considering becoming vegitarian because the smeel of meat makes me sick... White meat doesn't though, but pork, beef, and other stuff makes me wanna gag...
im finally going to try this vegatarien lifestyle i went i month without meat then went to a sportsbar and had wings oh well you know the rest. any body out there can give me some pointers ill take them... also i used to work in a slaighter house back in 1986 so i should know better.. thanx for any help.. sorry ment to say slaughter house

@ed4409 You "chose" to be straight? Really? So you mean there was a time when you were debating which side of the fence you were on? C'mon. You didn't make a conscious decision as to your sexuality any more than you chose your gender. I'm gay, and there's no way in hell I would have chosen it. But it's the way I am, and I'm content. I'm not attracted to the opposite gender in the same way you're not attracted to the same gender. No choice is involved.
@Kaniela6759 Everything has a choice in life. You can't be born being gay. Being gay is not hereditary (unless you were raised under gay parents)...it's a life style (like being Straightedge for example...being Straightedge is not hereditary, I just didn't want to become like my family, which are drunk smokers and drug addicts)
@ed4409 What an ignorant statement you just made. Your sexuality is a part of who you ARE, naturally. Nobody chooses their sexuality, they are simply just attracted to what they are attracted to. It's rediculous how many people are so mean and stupid when it comes to this topic. Straight people do not choose to be straight, it is just natural to them. And it is not a lifestyle. Lifestyle is healthy eating and excercise for example.
@epiphonerox I honestly am trying not being ignorant, but if I did, I am sorry. The definition of Lifestyle (as on dictionary's website) is "the habits, attitudes, tastes, moral standards, economic level, etc., that together constitute the mode of living of an individual or group."...so if you live gay, straight, straightedge, vegan, omnivore, or whatever you want to be as a working man because it feels right to you but not to others...that's not a lifestyle? please correct me if I am wrong
@ed4409 Yes I agree, a lifestyle is that of habits, moral standards, and attitudes. Being gay doesn't define who you are it is just simply the sexuality of a person. When I think of lifestyle, I think it reflects who you are and your disposition. Sexuality is not relevant, therefore being gay and straightedge are two completely different things.
@Relda999 your retarded to think so, if you ACTUALLY checked the majority of people who eat meat are aqually healthy and not fat, not some stupid obese people your teacher told you about.
@Relda999 Not all vegans are healthy & not all meat eaters are unhealthy. It varies. Some vegans don't balance their foods out & are severely lacking in certain nutrients. They can become too skinny, suffer hair loss, & get brittle bones. Some meat eaters don't balance their foods out & only eat processed meat so they can become too fat, get clogged arteries, etc. but it is not guaranteed. I know plenty of meat eaters that are healthy & not fat. Just remember, skinny doesn't always mean healthy.
shit... you don't look very healthy to me, i don't think i will take your advice. you should stop talking about food and go actually EAT some of it. maybe you wouldn't look like a skeleton then?
I'm vegetarian because I was raised vegetarian and I've tried meat and fish and I don't like it. It's a personal dietary choice, I hate the way some people can be so narrow-minded and prejudiced, I don't slander people for eating meat, that's their choice. I shouldn't be slandered for mine.
@filakid0 just go out and do it! well dont jump off a building your first day! study parkour via youtube and the philosophy behind it, its not a sport its a lifestyle and an art form. start by working on each individual skill (most likely on grass and rails) and isolate each movement so you can practice them, find great shoes and always stretch! train hard and safe :D it'll change your life i promise in a good way haha
And I've lost a great deal of weight on an omnivorous diet. Meat isn't the problem, it's the sugar and carbs, if you cut out those, you will lose weight regardless of whether you eat meat or not.
Being vegan is VERY hard. Vegetarianism is far more practical and easy. If you like spicy food and want to experiment with vegetarianism, I'd suggest Indian cuisine because a large chunk of it is vegetarian. Vegetarian food is just the same food except for the meat. For example a burrito without meat is a perfectly tasty vegetarian item. For sure, chicken wings and sausages are not an option. But really, vegetarianism is not as hard as most people think it can be.
Hey all you vegetarians, what was the successful way you became a vegetarian? Did you just go for it or did you gradually give it up? I've tried to become one a few times but I failed after the third day... :( I'm still trying! Can i have some tips please?
I started by cutting out red meat, no beef no pork. I did this for a week, after that week cut out the rest, fish and chicken. Also what helped was eating more of a variety of vegetarian foods.
I first stopped eating red meat. A month after, I cut out chicken & turkey. And later on, I stopped fish. It is easy that way, because you gradually learn tips, recipes, etc. That helps you to continue ;)
Just go little by little don't try all at once. You can start by just cutting red meats. Only eat chicken and fish. After some time, when you get used to it, you can start cutting the chicken out and use replacements or tofu! Then later, cut out the fish and you're done! Try looking up veg recepies.
I don't find it hard to cut red meats and chicken but there isn't really equivalents for fish or seafood. =/ I personally chose to be pescarian until I feel fine cutting fish from my diet.
its all about being commited... the best way for me to do it was to just stop. it helps a lot to watch all the videos and movies that have information on it... "food inc." is a great one... you just have to make it up in your head that your going to do it. oh yeah and it helps to think about where your food is coming from while your eating it... yuck.
I am trying to become a vegetarian. it has been like a week without any meat and I want to keep this up...any good ideas on good vegetarian meals to eat? like for example: breakfast, lunch, and dinner? I like fruit so it is easy for me to have a meatless breakfast, but I usually have like a sandwich with some kind of meat on it like turkey or ham....Any good vegi sandwiches besides pb&j.
it really helped me, when i first started to be vegetarian, to get into making good healthy yummy food... im 18 and i love to cook probably because im vegetarian... for lunch today i had a sandwich with tomatoes, garlic, green olives and mushrooms on a piece of wheat french bread with white cheddar cheese and mustard... (toasted)
its actually pretty quick to make and delicious and probably only costed me like 1.50...
i just started being vegetarian. peta made me feel so bad for the helpless animals. im 13 and the only one in my family who is vegetarian. we had spaghetti last night but i just took the meat out with my fork. i couldnt touch it or i would have thrown up.. this video really helped me. thank you so much expert village!
Right now, since I'm only 15 years old it would be a good idea to learn about vegatarianism. At least that's what i think would be best. To learned at an early age about nutrition.
I'm 15 and I'm a vegatarian,I've been a vegetarian for 4 years, and I like being one.People ask me what I eat I tell them everything besides meat instad of meat I eat soy stuff. :D
hahaha im a vegetarian *have been one for over a yr and a half* and well this is a vegetarian vid right? well as the vid was loading a Mcdonalds commercial pops up. Wtf?!
in my opinion too much meat is unhealthy but i find this too hard that is some nasty meat horse burgers... why do some veggie people get a little chubby? is this tofu /soy stuff going to make me gay(er) mum gives it to me it's as safe as milk if i take spirolactone, is that cheating? can i still take Spiro?
No matter what you eat, you gotta be careful with your diet. Please search (google) for this research -
"The Comparative Anatomy of Eating
by Milton R. Mills, M.D."
The research says that human body is more optimized to eat plant based food. So if you are eating meat, you need to care for the health as well and choose the right types.
im a vegiterian because the thought of eating a dead animal's body disturbs me... and also, let me clear things up:
bread IS vegetarian because, yes it contains dairy and eggs but cows NEED to be milked because there is no way to get the milk out of them so its is okay and the eggs that they take from the chickens are not fertilized yet so there was never a living thing in there, although bread is not VEGAN because its has dairy and eggs. jelly, jam whatever u call it IS vegetarian too.
guys stop saying vegitarians have weak bones. vegans might but not vegitarians. the only reason people EAT meat is because of the protein. protien can be easily found in other foods besides meat. . being a vegitarian is just fine. i would know. so stop hating. i dont care if you still eat meat, but dont hate vegitarians for not eating meat. chances are they hate you for eating meat. just deal with it.
I already am a vegetarian

It's not really for nutrition as it is because of my love for animals. And like ed4409 said, just do what you want to do. If you want to eat meat, go ahead. If not, that's fine too. :)

@ed4409
Changing the meat industry can be a shared goal, am I right?
mellamosean 9 months ago 6
@mellamosean do you know of any meat companies that treat their animals humanely? i am doing research and if i cant find a way to eat meat humanely i am going to be come a vegetarian.
flavius717 3 weeks ago
@flavius717
That's my understandin
mellamosean 2 weeks ago
AND environmental reasons. Bean burrittos, P&B sandwiches? That's a junky alterntive. Tortillas are usually still maade with animal fat and pasta uses eggs.
Why not steer them in the right direction form the start? We're not living in the 60's, you know?

@ed4409 : yes..don't fight..live in peace..but If you are Catholic surely you have a responsibility to think of others? Do you think it is ok
if EVERYONE in the world eats meat at the same rate as you? Where will the water and grains come from?? What about others going without to feed more affluent countries and let them get super fat?
englishhelp2009 10 months ago
@englishhelp2009 Question 1: I don't solely eat meat. I want to eat healthy and eating both meat and plants are good for the human body (and yes, you can get sick from eating undercooked meat, and you can't tell what plants have E. Coli).
Question 2: I am on both ends of the spectrum because of school. I believe that God created us, and I also believe the world was a meteor before it was habitable and we were bacteria first.
Question 3: Simple, USA=greed. We care about ourselves and not others.
ed4409 10 months ago
@englishhelp2009 Also to answer "but If you are Catholic surely you have a responsibility to think of others?" Yes, I do think about others...hell, I put others before me. I am that generous. That's how I was raised...to treat others with respect, and to always think about others before thinking about yourself.

I'm doing a project on vegetarian diet in my FACS class and after researching it, I'm thinking about becoming a vegetarian. I'm just confused at whether or not vegetarians are allowed to eat junk food like pop and chips because I eat ALOT of that and I'm not sure I'll be able to do it if I can't!
volleyballchiqa013 10 months ago
@volleyballchiqa013
Vegetarian just means you don't eat meat. Is your reason for considering a vegetarian diet one of health or ethics? Obviously junk food isn't healthy, but there aren't any rules---you can't eat junk food if you want and still be a vegetarian.

Kaniela6759 1 year ago
@Kaniela6759 Everything has a choice in life. You can't be born being gay. Being gay is not hereditary (unless you were raised under gay parents)...it's a life style (like being Straightedge for example...being Straightedge is not hereditary, I just didn't want to become like my family, which are drunk smokers and drug addicts)
ed4409 1 year ago
@ed4409 What an ignorant statement you just made. Your sexuality is a part of who you ARE, naturally. Nobody chooses their sexuality, they are simply just attracted to what they are attracted to. It's rediculous how many people are so mean and stupid when it comes to this topic. Straight people do not choose to be straight, it is just natural to them. And it is not a lifestyle. Lifestyle is healthy eating and excercise for example.
epiphonerox 1 year ago
@epiphonerox I honestly am trying not being ignorant, but if I did, I am sorry. The definition of Lifestyle (as on dictionary's website) is "the habits, attitudes, tastes, moral standards, economic level, etc., that together constitute the mode of living of an individual or group."...so if you live gay, straight, straightedge, vegan, omnivore, or whatever you want to be as a working man because it feels right to you but not to others...that's not a lifestyle? please correct me if I am wrong
ed4409 1 year ago
@ed4409 Yes I agree, a lifestyle is that of habits, moral standards, and attitudes. Being gay doesn't define who you are it is just simply the sexuality of a person. When I think of lifestyle, I think it reflects who you are and your disposition. Sexuality is not relevant, therefore being gay and straightedge are two completely different things.
epiphonerox 1 year ago
@Relda999 your retarded to think so, if you ACTUALLY checked the majority of people who eat meat are aqually healthy and not fat, not some stupid obese people your teacher told you about.

heartlessvietboy 1 year ago
@Relda999 Not all vegans are healthy & not all meat eaters are unhealthy. It varies. Some vegans don't balance their foods out & are severely lacking in certain nutrients. They can become too skinny, suffer hair loss, & get brittle bones. Some meat eaters don't balance their foods out & only eat processed meat so they can become too fat, get clogged arteries, etc. but it is not guaranteed. I know plenty of meat eaters that are healthy & not fat. Just remember, skinny doesn't always mean healthy.

And I've lost a great deal of weight on an omnivorous diet. Meat isn't the problem, it's the sugar and carbs, if you cut out those, you will lose weight regardless of whether you eat meat or not.
NewYorkFlavour 5 months ago
@NewYorkFlavour Agreed meat doesn't make you fat. Its the carbs but vegetarians or vegans dont get that.
lovebigboobs29 4 months ago

Can i have some tips please?
hugatree1212 2 years ago
I started by cutting out red meat, no beef no pork. I did this for a week, after that week cut out the rest, fish and chicken. Also what helped was eating more of a variety of vegetarian foods.
RaidxandxPlunder 2 years ago
It's all a choice man :^)
ElJuanito6969 2 years ago
I first stopped eating red meat. A month after, I cut out chicken & turkey. And later on, I stopped fish. It is easy that way, because you gradually learn tips, recipes, etc. That helps you to continue ;)
Good luck!
mary45789 2 years ago

No matter what you eat, you gotta be careful with your diet. Please search (google) for this research -

@Cinniminto Actually bread IS vegan, it depends on what kind you get. Most store bought brands only contain wheat, vegetable oil, yeast, etc.
