im 58 Years old, and i never was able to Count to 10, but after watching this Video, i can now finally Count to 10. Thank You Soo Much for this Video.
Y'know . . . back in the fifties we had a singalong song for counting from one to ten. It came on a little plastic-laminated cardboard 78 rpm kids' record. It was well-written and professionally done, unlike this effort. Why on earth does all this modern stuff for kids have to be so insulting to everyone's intelligence?
The technical production is unquestionably not professional, but I can assure you that the concepts covered are totally on target with numbers presented as numerals, objects, and words, with ten-frames, with cuisenaire rods, and with increasing and decreasing numbers. I think, for the price, the viewer can put up with the amateur video.
@Grancie48 That's just the problem- the concepts. They're presented in a ham-handed, artless manner that is not conducive to learning or to holding a child's attention. I've seen far too much of this stuff- done with the best of intentions, but absolutely clueless in terms of execution and presentation. It's content without context, and content has to have context in order to have meaning.
I've been having some trouble understanding tabular integration, i was really caught up on the whole "1, 2, 3" thing. This video helped a lot, thanks!
Any people here who think this is "stupid" or "idiotic" need to go back to kindergarden. This is what they listen too. Have fun being toutured you cheeseheads.
This is super retarded... No point that this video was made... 3 year old people can't search YouTube... Or even type. BTW They even don't know the alphabet. Or they can know just by looking at your keyboard... 1234567890.
2. Number sense has many more concepts to it than just being able to recite, recognize, or even identify the numerals on a keyboard, some of which are addressed in this video's graphics, concepts such as "how many", "more", "less", "one more", "how many more", etc.
3. Please be respectful of sincere attempts to educate small children. They are our future.
@Grancie48 I agree with you Grancie, I think Supercalifragments needs to understand psichology first. May be he did not have parents or someone to walk him through. I feel sorry for that.
@supercalifragments are you serious? 3 year old people also usually cant read or put a dvd in the dvd player or video in the vcr so i guess its pointless anything to ever help a kid learn was ever invented right. hope you never have kids.
@Grancie48 Number sense is very much related to understanding the period table and how the elements are arranged in groups (number of valence electrons) and periods (number of shells). Its very difficult to teach 13 year olds this....I have to go back to teaching one more and one less to many ..... everything basic concept we take for granted has many implications for learning future skills....
You're absolutely right about how understanding more difficult subjects is contingent on acquiring some of the simpler and more basic concepts long before the difficult subjects are introduced. It's easy to underestimate the importance of early childhood education. There certainly is more to number sense than reciting or identifying numerals.
ever since you guys signed that deal with interscope, your songs just haven't been the same. I strongly suggest you return to your roots and stop trying to imitate the styles of other successful musicians (Radiohead, Nine Inch Nails, etc), as your original work was so much more passionate.
WHAT THE HELL!!! Since when does five come before eight...
Hummm... that must be the reason why my quantum ressonating hidroelectric magneto-sphere experience in a pressurized chamber didn't worked according to calculations and i ended up frying the chips to much..... DAMMM!
my 1 year old niece is to the point where shes just being able to speak, this song put her to sleep as she was listening. Works as a great learning method and lulaby if you need one.
This is completely unoriginal and too repetitive! The sound quality also leads for a lot to be desired! There are also a number of obvious timing issues. I'm actually quite unimpressed by this and have lost support for this band!

Best 'numbers' educational video on youtube. I appreciate the break from rote memorization and actually getting to see the correlation between the quantities. Kudos and thanks for sharing!
OMG! SO sorry! I'm just too scared!Ok.... There was a lady who was walking in the forest with her dog and was killed. If u r reading this, then u will find a dead bloody body hanging in ur closet. U will be haunted and killed by her. to stop it posti this to 6 other videos in 30 GOOD LUCK
The point is not just to RECITE the numbers but to visually see the relationship between the quantities as well as to learn to read the numerals and number words.
Contributing educational programming to youtube the internet and popular culture in general is a noble and worthwhile endeavor. Thanks!!! You are a kindred spirit.
I can count to 100. I'm 30 years old that's why. I can go by twos anyway. I wish there was a "Counting By Twos" song for like 9 - 12 I guess? Yeah, maybe.
thanks 4 this video, I'm a 9th grader tutoring a kindergartener who has trouble with recognizing numbers, and I will show him this! Hopefully it will help him by singing this song because he likes music =]
My kid loves this. He hasn't quite got the concept yet....he feels that he can count in any order at all.....two! four! nine! eight! I'm hoping that because you count backwards as well, he'll understand more. Thanks. :)
You might want to start by only counting to three. For example, if he eats Cheerios or Goldfish crackers as a snack, you could count "one,.....two,...... three" as you put them in front of him or in his hand one at a time. That way, he will begin to understand "one-to-one correspondence" and the concept of "one more" as well as the sequence of the numbers.
Yeah, I'm one of those people confused why YouTube added this to my recommended. However, I see some huge promise with this video and can see if/when I have children that this would be great to have them watch. Gave it 5 stars.

drushtvo 2 years ago
The point is not just to recite the numbers one to ten. It is 1) to read/identify the numerals and words, and the quantities they represent and 2) to develop a concept of their relationships to each other (hence the 10-frame and the graph).
The songs you remember from school may be as "lame" or "goofy" as this one, but even you admit to remembering them... which is the point. These songs are meant to be instructional aids, not top forty hits.
