  • Is that Maggie Thatcher cozying up to Tony at 2:45? HA!

  • Edmonds & Blackburn, has there ever been a bigger pair of c****s fronting a mainstream tv music show?

  • @MannaMachine69

    Reggie Yeats and Ferne Cotton?

  • @victorialucas38 i think you could be right!

  • Where are you now girl in the pink skirt & T.rex t.shirt?

  • A piece of useless info. Boogaloo was a joke nickname Ringo had for Paul. So this song was a mickey take at Paul's expense. Listen to some of the lyrics!

Also no surprise ColumRogers it is a bit TRexish. Ringo and Marc were good buddies!

  • dont pretend that you are dead LOL

  • Yeah, wallpaper shoes and socks that match your eyes! Check out Bolanicboogie's video and hear Ringo's "true" version of how he got the idea for this song. Hilarious!

  • They were VERY big buddies at the time-Ringo had just filmed the T.rexmas gigs at Wembly Pool for the film 'Born to boogie'. Bolan played guitar on 'Back Off' too. If you listen carefully, youcan hear his vocals on the chorus...'

  • @missmarypickford Wrong! it was George Harrison who played guitar on 'Back Off Boogaloo'. He also produced the track.

  • @missmarypickford You're correct to say that Ringo and Marc were great pals. However, Ringo didn't film the T.Rexmas concerts in December 1972 it was the March concerts at Wembley he filmed for Born To Boogie. Marc didn't play or sing on Back Off Boogaloo. The only Ringo track Marc played on was "Have You Seen My Baby" from the "Ringo" album in 1973. It features classic Bolan Boogie guitar playing and is worthwhile searching out if you haven't heard it.

  • In a 1977 interview, Starr explained that the phrase "Back Off Boogaloo" was inspired when he and fellow musician and close friend Marc Bolan had dinner one night, and Bolan used the word "boogaloo" multiple times in his sentences. Starr said that after dinner, when he had been half awake and half asleep, the beat and tune for the song had become stuck in his head and went to find a tape recorder to record the song.

  • @jocknyono I agree.... " give me something tasty .... everything you try to do you know it just sounds wasted " ... this at a time when Paul was struggling musically and getting savaged by critics. RAM and Red Rose Speedway were thought sub-par for an ex-beatle... he got respect with Band on the Run.

  • @jocknyono That's not true. RIngo got the idea to use the word boogaloo from Marc Bolan. He never called Paul by that name.

  • @dachille1 correct for 10 beatle points!

  • @dachille1 thankyou!!! this song aint about paul

  • @nickdudman82 The song isn't ABOUT Paul, but the line - "wake up meat head, don't pretend that you are dead" is aimed at Paul.

  • Yeah 7117Nate, it was Cool way back then, but then again, I'm now nearly 60! Still, I wouldn't swap then for now. Great memories!

  • I wish I was a teenager growing up during the 1970's...in England...it seems like a cool time to be alive.

  • This is quite catchy and cool it's very T.Rex.

  • rem this one!!

  • never heard this before

  • very cool
