  • I have been a fan of Ducati since the 60s. Started with a little 98 and ended with a pair of RT450s for a kicker. If Ducati will ever realize that they had the supreme adventure bike in the RT450 and just build say a 900 or 1000 cc version of the RT theres no need to pull a Bill Gates and try to make a sport bike LOOK likes its running like an off roader. Sill live for another Ducati Mega Thumper. Your project sounds worthy however, go fro the gold !

  • 12 liter of fuel tank?? hahahahaaaaaa

u'll be calling your KLR650 friends for help on gas...

  • why didn't you take it down the river to see if it could be a canoe

  • @MARKSWZ That was off camera :(

  • Just get the new Multistrada thats coming out. Dont kill the hyper.

  • make it "A" adventure pretty please! I like this bike but the front looks really goofy and in tru Monster styling, the engine looks vunerable bolted onto the bottom of that frame.. mmh i can rules this one out.. back to the GS and KTM video!

  • get a klr 650...cheaper and better for the off road. A ducati in the woods is like a princess mowing the grass or cleaning the toilet or something..

  • @Reconcile7 In a weird way the point was that these bikes aren't the delicate little flowers that people make them out to be.

  • love this reviewer..very entertaining and good common sense reviews!

  • RETARDS THE HYPER IS NOT AN ENDUROOO!! IS A SUPERMOTARD SO DON'T TRY THE ROUGH ROAD WITH IT IF U DON'T WANT TO KILL U!!

  • -A fosho!

  • Decent vid, but I have a few questions. First, what's the range on this bike? The dealer I went to said he wouldn't recomend this bike for adventure riding because it's got a small tank and there aren't any aftermaket replacements. When I was last looking at one I noticed a bunch of delicate looking and exposed bits that were just waiting for rocks and brush to snap them off. How durable is this beast?

Definitely go for the -A badge and see what happens, I'm quite looking forward to it.....

  • @Glissade195 We had the advantage of a long range tank courtesy of California Cycleworks, which sorted the range. There are indeed delicate and exposed bits, but Ducati has a bashplate and there are aftermarket oil cooler guards available.

Durability, well it only spent the summer with us, but I was near enough to taking it to the Arctic when another Manufacturer bowed out.

  • @Glissade195

Well, there is a tank replacement for the Hyper in the US...

  • sweet review :)

    and go for it!

even though in my opinion the Hypermotard is just out of this world allready :D

  • the best bike from Ducati

  • the best bike from ducati in my opinion. it's just perfect in every way.

  • Sweet vid guys, although I would have liked to hear more about the sammich...

  • please give a bike revue not about your lunch . did not hardly give any info . price etc .

  • Interesting ...

I was wondering how the DR-Z400sm might do on the occassional Mainline logging road excursion . This vid. gives me a small clue that it would probably do ok under moderate conditions . Cool.

    Motards rock . I need 2 put 1 in the stable ...

  • the best bike ever¡¡

  • These bikes are great! please either make it an adventure bike! Can you get it to the standards of a BMW 1200GS...but more fun?!

  • I like ducati`s, but I think they shud stick to making road bikes like the monster. I would much prefur the bmw f800 gs. (Not saying the ducati hypermotard is a bad bike)

  • Povera Hyper. :-(

  • Dont u dear :-) u should be bend from ridin ducati ever... stick to your adventure...

  • whould you recommend a hypermotard as a second bike after a ninja 250r??

  • @biglandfarm

I testrode one once, and I had only ridden a 200cc scooter before that for about a year and it was fine. Its quick but not ridiculously so, and I'd say its fine after a 250r. I currently ride a Multistrada and its quick, but not so quick that you'd loop it if you gave it the berries or anything

  • we don't care about your sandwich/lunch. Your review said nothing at all.

  • infamous ???since when????it's one of the best bike factory's in the world...

  • The tonge was firmly in cheek with that one. Ducati's aren't known for being law abiding bikes after all.

  • 17" knobs and some risers..!!

  • Where is that trail located??

  • it's like a frikken' pancake!

  • Ducati Hypermotard: 2008 Pike's Peak Hill Climb Winner!

So it CAN run in the dirt, and that quite well!

Check out the story, it's a good read. There are a number of good photos, too. Just go to the Ducati site and search "Pike's Peak," it should come up.

  • DO IT DOIT DO IT DO IT!!!!

  • lol you said you were gonna do it !

  • Yes. Please turn it into an adventure bike! I would love to see that thing with a pair of knoblies.

  • GREAT VIDEO!!!!

  • Woot!

  • great looking bike
